There, fixed it. From time to time I will estimate things roughly, such as how many loads of firewood will fit into the bed of a truck, or how many shots of liquor are still left in the bottle.

Stuff that, incidentally, leftists can't use to skew international public opinion.

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys reckon is the correct number? ... I realize there are no exact figures, but what’s your rough estimate?

Sorry I can't help you, but I'm not in the rough estimation business. I leave statistical analysis to professionals with a commitment to transparency and who adhere to rigorous scientific and ethical standards.

The kind of thinking you espouse is what gets us into messes like this in the first place. Don't you agree?

'I’m glad we cleared that up. It’s always nice to admit you were wrong.'

So you give weapons to a leader to use on his own citizens and others, watch him use them.
Then use it as a reason to invade causing millions of deaths and displacement.
You know these are not the weapons were talking about. The charge was that during sanctions and bombings Iraq managed to get weapons of mass destruction.

I will concede that yes he did have a weapon. The Euro.
Saddam changed from the petro dollar to the Euro for oil trading-he made more money.
After the invasion that was one of the first things changed back. Even though it made little sense. The Iraqi people lost 15% profit, this money was to rebuild.

Iran has changed it's trading currency to Euro/Yen other non-dollar currencies.

'No, Saddam, as you already admitted, was doing all the killing, at a much greater rate, than after the invasion.'

Saddam was toppled in 2003.You really believe that the post war planning had no consequences to events on the ground?
Was Alqaeda there in force before?

If you want to be judged on the same level as Saddam-he's done worse approach -then so be it.

The Iraqi people deserve to have it recognised what actually turned their country into a bloodbath during their 'liberation'.

They should of had there death toll counted and recognised.

[...] Hot Air has a post up about the dishonest 2006 study by the the British medical journal Lancet concerning Iraqi civlian deaths during the war there (yes, it’s the one your liberal friends keep parroting). In a rare display of outrage, the author of the study Gilbert Burnham has been publicly rebuked by the American Association for Public Opinion Research for violating its code of professional ethics by refusing to disclose the details behind the claims that 654,965 “excess” Iraqis died because America invaded Iraq. Both Iraq casualty studies were widely debated at the time of their release, shortly before U.S. elections. The 2004 report was released Oct. 29, just before that year’s presidential election; an Associated Press report at the time said the lead author, Les Roberts, had described himself as anti-war and said he’d insisted the study be released in advance of the election to prompt debate on the subject. The 2006 lead author, Burnham, said he had no political motivations: “We do this from science.” [...]

His contribution of less than $100,000 to Burnham’s efforts were chump change, and bought him the propaganda he needed.

So true, and some of us in this little bubble here might forget that millions of Americans bought in to the "600k" dead nonsense, and we've heard countless celebrities and pundits repeat the bogus figure on TV for years. This widely discredited "study" has been one of the most effective pieces of propaganda we've seen.

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys reckon is the correct number? How many non-combatant Iraqi civilians died a violent death since 2003? I realize there are no exact figures, but what's your rough estimate?

Yes there was. America had the receipt’s.
Saddam used it to gas the kurds and chemical weapons for Iraq to use on Iranian civilians.

I'm glad we cleared that up. It's always nice to admit you were wrong.

As an occupying force, you had responibility for security.
They were not killing each other like that prior to the invasion

No, Saddam, as you already admitted, was doing all the killing, at a much greater rate, than after the invasion.

An admission of error AND a self-refuting post all in one! Great work mags.

Now remember those numbers..
Were estimated post war killings of iraqis in firefights with us troops..

but notice it never seperates ohh

All of the insurgant groups from the innocent iraqis

Also those numbers do not reflect the
ten thousand murdered by muslim terrorists
who mass butchered iraqi civilians..

so our soldiers did everything RIGHT..

I do wish one set of numbers was released..

the number of civilians who would have lived
IF the liberal news media
WASNT HELPING the Islamic terrorists..

I would bet you that number woul dhave been VERY high..

Liberals traitors with a new name
Democrats..
