Video: The reddest red-meat roundtable evah
posted at 7:05 pm on February 4, 2009 by Allahpundit
The boss, Glenn Beck, Star Parker, and a guy who used to lead the Club for Growth, egging each other on about how new entitlements lead inevitably to socialism? Good lord. Toss in a few exchanges about Palin and Darwinism and this would be the greatest Hot Air clip of all time.
I can only assume that, with Colmes gone, the Foxies have decided to abandon all pretense and dump the liberal panelists, too. Farewell, Bob Beckel, we hardly knew ye!

Blowback

Are you just trying to be provocative?
Hannity always balances his “Great American Panel”
and Geraldo is still rolling along, isn’t he?

Alas, Fox still has 21 hours of either stupid or liberal programming.

I hate I missed this live. But didn’t the federal government make all the banks take SOME money so it wouldn’t single out the good ones who don’t take the money vs. the bad ones who do take the money.
I’d recommend all executives go on strike in these companies. If I was making 10 mil/year and they cut me to 500,000/year to ‘fix’ the problem, I’d laugh and retire.
I could make 500,000/year on 5% returns of 10 mil. Why would I want the headache of being the whipping boy for the corrupt politicians?

I watched, too. I think the coverage of the “Signing Ceremony” cut into her time.

Great news.
I think the Socialism tag is going to stick to Obama and Congress.

I was glad to see Beck staying on the Socialism theme. I hope he continues doing so to drive home the message…

“The reddest red-meat roundtable evah” Not even close. But it will happen when Michelle is back guest hosting on Fox. Hopefully soon.

It’s all about when the light switch actually goes on for the Obamautomatons..
It either goes on just before it’s too late or just after.
The light switch is going to go on. The sooner the better.

I saw part of this real time…when, in contrast to Maxine Waters ideas on running OIL, Star Parker speaks the truth about banks (kicking your children out of the house at 30 years old, LOL) I thought, can we please just have elect Star Parker to Congress and get started with some sanity?
Please?

Good for FOX . . . if you want wall to wall liberals go to CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS or read The Washington Post, the New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe or a dozen other mainstream newspapers. FOX is certainly not depriving the world of liberal thought. Keep up the good work FOX.

the_nile on February 4, 2009 at 7:27 PM
Yes he did force them to take TARP:
Weight of Glory on February 4, 2009 at 7:29 PM
Here’s what I’m afraid of: What happens to private (“no thanks” to TARP funds) banks when the government-run banks perform at progressively lower levels? Will the gov. banks continue to get taxpayer money to keep them propped up? Will the successful private banks be deemed too successful? What kinds of regulations will crop up to punish private banks for not being “part of the program” or in the interests of fairness?
Is there even a “Reardon Steel” in the banking industry to fight this?
Pianobuff on February 4, 2009 at 7:30 PM
This “socialism” theme is a load of Gullspit. Call what is going on what it is – COMMUNISM!
Through the control of the economy through various lies (depression-like conditions – global warming sky-is-falling), these Marxists are taking over. They are finishing the process Wilson/House/Rhodes started in the early 20th century, that FDR strengthened, LBJ cemented.
Liberty is dead.
klickink.wordpress.com on February 4, 2009 at 7:32 PM
I think there is a famous Lenin quote about communism being the goal of socialism.

Oh, I forgot..the next segment was with Frank Luntz.
He got short changed on time…but said people are very angry about lack of accountability of elite pols, business, etc. ets.
I hate to say that it would make me feel better if the plug would be pulled on C, BAC etc. The Obama/Left/Press moralizing is just too much to bear.
Somewhere I hope some R leader just stops the BS and says the truth…that our country has a lot of powerful people in government and business (ok, add the press) who have been trying to work a little above their competency level.
r keller on February 4, 2009 at 7:33 PM
I wonder if you just wanted to post “tea bagged”?
I see rational though is dead in your head. Not all of the banks who received money were run poorly and some had no choice but to take the money. If there are some CEOs worth several million and now they are limited…what do you think they will do? As someone stated earlier they can retire.
They also could move to a different industry and leave their bank worse off and cost even more jobs.
I get the feeling that the watsons of the world would prefer to see everyone out of work because then he would be making or should i say not making the same amount of money.
The class warfare thing sure works with the gullible, lazy, and envious.

Fox is the equal time. I loved hearing all this.
Get your stupid government hands OFF my life.
Mojave Mark on February 4, 2009 at 7:34 PM
Michelles blog makes a good point that needs to be put out in the headlines ASAP.Quoting from Financial Week– “Congress will consider legislation to extend some of the curbs on executive pay that now apply only to those banks receiving federal assistance, House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank said.
“There’s deeply rooted anger on the part of the average American,” the Massachusetts Democrat said at a Washington news conference today.
He said the compensation restrictions would apply to all financial institutions and might be extended to include all U.S. companies.”
canditaylor68 on February 4, 2009 at 7:34 PM
Actually overall FOX NEWS tilts to the left. The simple thinking types consider Hannity as FOX NEWs and forget about all the other programming. Hey but it keeps it nice and tidy for the bumper stickers and talking points.

It is unfortunate that our country is no longer educated on just what communism is. Since the capitalization of China the word has become a PC victim. The media hardly ever uses the word, especially in connection to China.
But make no mistake: Communism is what’s at play here. Some will say that communism is not the same as Marxism, but it is. It is about forced sharing and control, “we are one” BS.
Used to be Kruchev’s famous speech of conquering America from within was posted everywhere, from courthouses to the DMV. The man was right, but the process started long ago, long before him.

canditaylor68 …. Actually, Obama hinted that also at the end of this remarks today.
The “smoothness” of Obama is this. First, start with
Second, the business about the banks
Third, His true intent:
Watch every word this guy says…his moderation is step 1.
r keller on February 4, 2009 at 7:48 PM
I personally don’t like his program, but the past couple months he has gotten “religion” – that is, what Liberty and the founding of America was all about.
But more than “voices” are needed. We need men and women of action. Ones that are willing to put everything on the line, their wealth, their time. People must be motivated physically, not just emotionally. A movement must be organized, actions defined.
Othewise…
Liberty is dead…
FOREVER!
klickink.wordpress.com on February 4, 2009 at 7:49 PM
I used to think of Beck as Limbaugh-Lite, but realize now that he has simply walked through the door that Rush opened and is making the most of it. In other words, I like Glen – a lot. He’s passionate but he lets logic dictate his passion. He’s freakin funny too.

I’ve been a Glenn Beck fan for several years now. The first time I heard him make the vacuum sound that is Britney Spears brain I was really hooked. He just says it like it is and he is funny.
Michelle is awesome. The best thing I think I have ever seen on television was an episode of the O’Reilly Factor that she was guest hosting. Malik Shabazz (?) was a guest and either called her a whore or for O’Reilly or implied it. Michelle asks him something like, “Are you calling me a whore, Mr. Shabazz….The only whore on this screen is you, Mr. Shabazz!” O.M.G! My husband and I were howling. Did anyone see that? Is there a recording of it? I’m going to have to check youtube.

Yup, I said this would happen on an earlier thread. And if they start limiting executive pay, they’ll continue with middle-management on down. Because eventually anyone with a job will be making a “predatory” wage.

I like hand carrying my records with me if I ever need to see a doctor. Rights to privacy issues and inability to secure computerized online medical records is the trade off for free universal health care? Who is to say that employers, insurance companies, credit companies, hell, even family/child services wont use this information against us? The idea of computerized online medical records should be shot down. We cant even use mobile data devices on military computers because of security breaches- why would we entrust our government to keep our most private information safe?
canditaylor68 on February 4, 2009 at 8:25 PM
I worry less about hackers that I do about the government cataloging and rating people according to their value and their potential costs to the program. It goes like this; Geithner with cancer, the best of care. My 76 yo mother with cancer, too bad.

Glenn Beck’s panel is a hot mess. He’s like “black lady, make an anti-welfare talking point and shut up.” And then he’s like “the guy who appointed a bunch of free market capitalists and free traders to his cabinet is actually a socialist.” On a lighter not props to Malkin for rectifying the hair/makeup malfunction from her last appearance on Beck. It’s time the Foxies cleaned house. “Hannity” is a much better program without the rude and obnoxious Alan Colmes and he has both sides represented, on his panel. He even had the supreme leftist (Me, me, me) Ashley Banfield and another lefty, as panel members last night.
Glenn Beck is fantastic. He speaks for those with common sense and he does so with great humor.

Wage and price controls destroy economies.
Barney Frank, one of the architects and enablers of the financial meltdown, has a hell of a lot of nerve deciding that he will now determine salaries as Wage Czar. Where are the pitchforks to oust this “Banking Queen”?

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House. One is from Chicago, another is from Tennessee, and the third is from Minnesota.
All three go with a White House official to examine the fence. The Minnesota contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. “Well,” he says, “I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me.”
The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, “I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me.”
The Chicago contractor doesn’t measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, “$2,700.”
The official, incredulous, says, “You didn’t even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?”
The Chicago contractor whispers back, “$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence.”
“Done!” replies the government official.
And that, my friends, is how the new stimulus plan will work.
