It's failing because even stupid IDIOTS ( those that voted for Obama ) can see a bad deal when it's tossed in front of them.

Kind of like driving a nice Cherry Vette, and having a puddle of dog crap placed in front of you. MOST folks aren't going to drive through it.

[...] It never had a majority of support in the first place, but at least at first, the stimulus bill had a plurality in favor. No longer. Rasmussen’s polling shows that in two weeks, the numbers have flipped from 45-34 in support to 43-37 opposed: Support for the economic recovery plan working its way through Congress has fallen again this week. For the first time, a plurality of voters nationwide oppose the $800-billion-plus plan. [...]

But a plan that Obama backs and endorses is still popular because people trust him and because they don’t think he endorses the House “porkulus.”
But he does. Didn't Obama have a sort of champagne shindig after the bill passed the House?

What people want is what Obama proposed a big tax break for middle/working class Americans. I’ve seen zero evidence in any polls that people want supply side economics, if they did they wouldn’t have voted Obama.

DeathToMediaHacks on February 4, 2009 at 1:53 PM
Of course they don't want "supply side" economics. A big chunk of Obama's addled constituency believe in "trickle down", though: the government takes from earners and then it is somehow supposed to "trickle down" to the peasants.

Educated an Obama voter friend of mine today to the fact that the pork bill is crap, and that the One is trying to pay off friends with our money. Sweet! He already has a natural distrust for most politicians, but the drone of Obama, obama, obama... Had him hypnotized for the election.

I think he's suddenly waking up with a hang over. Heheehe...

In just one month we see pretty much how the next four years are to be run....

...."AMATEUR HOUR ".

God help us when we see how the obama and his followers deal with terrorism.

We see that Cheney is giving them a vote of no confidence..
This country is seeing the difficulties of the self inflicted wound known as 'obama and the democrats'.

DeathtoMediaHacks,
I am so curious about your choice of screen name because in that you seem to be the representative of the MSM hacks commenting here, do you mean death to yourself?

DMH is one of those preposterous people who thinks that the media, by virtue of being owned by "corporations", is systemically Republican/conservative... indigo blue voting patterns of journalists, editors, publishers, producers, photographers, contributers, and news anchors notwithstanding.

Well, at least it has been successful in gaining the support (and thus votes) from Paul.

The vast majority of Americans want some kind of big spending bill.

Argumentum ad numeram. This fallacy is all over your posts in many threads. What is absent is an explanation of how the above (specifically) and socialist tendencies (in general) provide a net benefit on economies.

I have challenged you in a couple of other related threads on this. Your reply would be appreciated. And on the philosophical side, I would be curious to see why you prefer tyranny over liberty.

We have allowed the liberals and their minions in the MSM to write the narrative on this for at least the last 30 years, and any evidence to be had that cutting taxes actually boosts overall tax revenues is completely lost on American voters, probably because the media can't be bothered to report it. Reagan cut taxes and tax receipts went up. Bush 43 cut taxes and tax receipts went up. Forget calling it economics: The American people need to be schooled in simple common sense. If you want to create jobs, then you have to make doing so as attractive and profitable as possible to the people in a position to do the hiring. That means relieving the tax and regulation burdens heaped upon corporations and small business owners. Someone needs to make people understand that the kind of class warfare that the Democrats like to incite benefits no one but them. "Hating the rich" is counterproductive when they're the ones cutting your payroll check every two weeks.

DeathtoMediaHacks,
I am so curious about your choice of screen name because in that you seem to be the representative of the MSM hacks commenting here, do you mean death to yourself?
I’ve yet to see you say anything that doesn’t parrot the Leftist MSM talking points…

I noticed the same thing. But it's even worse than that: he's not only a left-wing media hack, but also one of those who believes the left-wing media is just too ... conservative.

It's bad when you can't recognize your own self-parody.
