AOL Hot Seat Poll: Rate the transition

This morning, I wrote that the Obama transition has become a disaster. Now it’s your turn to give a grade to Barack Obama on his transfer of power, 15 days into the Era of Hope and ChangeTM. Do you think it’s going well, as the media have relentlessly argued, or do three tax cheats, three high-profile withdrawals, and a pay-for-play scandal made Obama’s honeymoon a debacle? Take the AOL Hot Seat poll:

Who are the moronic 52% who say good/fair? Had Bush or McCain done any of this (tax cheats, 10+ lobbyists which broke his promise, etc), the mass media and the Left would be screaming bloody murder and calling for impeachment.
Yet 52% actually say good/fair? Freaking ridiculous.

Rate the honeymoon, can the American people get an annulment?
Dr Evil on February 4, 2009 at 12:07 PM
Took most of the polls. Results are somewhat encouraging so far.
But I still see many people remain blinded & fooled.
What tools the American public are.

You didn’t give an option for “hilarious”.
Jaibones on February 4, 2009 at 12:11 PM
I voted “poor” because that was the best fit but it isn’t all that accurate.
Obama has assembled a cabinet worthy of federal indictments even before they take office! The sheer hypocrisy of running on “change” and then putting in all the usual suspects from the Democrat party proves what a liar Obama is. That tax evasion wasn’t a big deal to those vetting nominees for the filthy bastard proves just how corrupt this administration is going to be. The transition goes beyond poor into the realm of criminal malpractice and bad stewardship.
highhopes on February 4, 2009 at 12:11 PM
The SCOTUS can issue an annulment. All they have to do is declare people who held multiple citizenships to be ineligible for the Presidency and it’s over.
We could get a divorce if someone would start looking into campaign finance from the election.
Unfortunately, chances of either are slim to none. But if the idiot messiah keeps on with his ineptness, you never know.

Vashta.Nerada on February 4, 2009 at 12:13 PM
It’s called impeachment and conviction. It isn’t going to happen because filthy bastard has the majority in both the House (which would have to impeach) and the Senate (which would have to convict). Nixon was going to be removed from office because the GOP was willing to do the right thing. Democrats have no such honor so, failing complete corruption, filthy bastard is safely in office for the next four years.

Funny, if you click on the “state by state results” in Ed’s poll, the ONLY state where a majority of resondent rate Obama’s transition as “good” is Vermont. D.C. comes in as majority for “fair”.
In 49 states, a majority rates Obama as “poor”. Remember, this is an AOL poll, so responders are fairly broad based.

Ed’s list of honeymoon problems doesn’t include Iran demanding an apology, Iran launching a satellite (and by implication having an ICBM capability), Russia cutting our supply line to Afghanistan, North Korea prepping a missle launch, potential trade wars with Canada, Europe, and China, and heating the White House to 80 degrees.
Yeah, things are going great!

Capitalist piglet has hit paydirt with that comment:
“he told a bunch of kids he’s already “tired” of “being in the White House”.”
Something told me from the beginning that Barry would have little patience for being in the ‘confines’ of the office of President. He is no public servant. A friend of mine agreed and said that ‘he won’t have the stomach for it; he has no stamina’. After all, as far lefty, he’s a Victim–something Dubya never was, even when he was mercilessly attacked.
Truly, it seems as tho he already has come to the conclusion that being POTUS ‘ain’t all that’. Maybe the fools that voted for him and all his minions will force him to be POTUS until he drops from exhaustion and old age. Now that’s a great SNL sketch.
Christine on February 4, 2009 at 12:51 PM
I was thinking Epic Fail also, but settled for Poor.
Dubn8tr on February 4, 2009 at 12:55 PM
I voted poor because it is going poorly. It hasn’t him long to learn that he is human. The results now indicate 56% believe it is going poorly.
bopbottle on February 4, 2009 at 12:57 PM
Okay, I voted fair. Sure, his picks suck but the transition has gone fair. He has had no problem getting most approved including Hillary and even a tax cheat in charge of taxes.
Let us not forget Bush’s picks sucked big wang for the most part too. When it comes to selections I will always associate Bush with “affirmative action token wuss” Colin Powell, “My wife doesn’t know I’m gay” Alberto Gonzales, “The incredible spineless man” McClellan and last but not least “I’m Georges clueless friend” Supreme court nominee Harriet Myers.
Redglen on February 4, 2009 at 1:01 PM
When you put on rose colored glasses, the “Good” choice actually reads “he’s so dreamy”, thus explaining the perplexing high numbers of votes in that category.
Alden Pyle on February 4, 2009 at 1:02 PM
To those who seem confused by the polling numbers, this is an AOL poll that Ed uses to ask the question, not a Hot Air poll. So that means that all AOL subsribers are told about it and I’d guess that some of the others who pose questions (such as the next poll about whether Barry should build hisself a basketball court?) also point their people to these polls.
It would be good for Hot Air posters and lurkers to hit that site from every computer you can and vote.

“Who are the 52%….”

The same 52% that elected him.

Heh. Remember Hillary’s crying act during the primaries when she declared “she was so tired.” They are pathetic.
President Bush said “we will NEVER tire….”
Prediction: Barry finds a reason to go to Hawaii again soon. So warm they grow orchids there too dontcha know. Even with the heat cranked, it’s too chilly in DC for him.

I see 57% as poor. Looks like more people have voted, since the earlier person got upset. Frankly when I see this 24% saying good still seems silly. If Obama was a Republican, that number would be in the teens.

How about “Poor, but he shore talks purty”?
Well, of course he’s “tired” of being in that one, little office! This is the longest time he’s been in a job without already preparing for the next higher one. I imagine he’s wondering this very moment what’s the next office he can campaign for, maybe President of the UN/World, or G_d….
Poor guy, must be getting stir-crazy….heh.

Hilarious that in the state breakdowns, as of now, all rate the transition as “poor” except Washington, DC, where 37% of 30 voters (or about 11 votes) go for “good”. Perhaps we have a few WH staffers online there?
That’s fewer “good” votes than lobbyists appointed to positions in the administration! Wow!

Krauthammer had an excellent response (in his townhall.com column) to Bambi’s pathetic attempt to blame the US for the Muslim world’s irrational hatred of us. Among other things, CK pointed out that we not only bent over backwards after 9/11 to not blame all Muslims for what 19 Muslim terrorists had done, we have sacrificed far more (in both blood and treasure) to liberate more oppressed Muslims than any other country in the world — including all the majority-Muslim countries. Yet instead of pointing out all that the US has done for Muslims, idiot Bambi goes on Arab t.v. and tells Muslims not to worry, because the US will stop hating on Muslims now that half-Kenyan, many-Muslim-relatives Bambi is in charge. Sickening.

Hold on a second there buddy. It doesn’t matter what anybody thinks of the guy, what matters is the question.
Sure, if it were McCain, the press would be calling it a disaster. But the press is covering for Obama. Downplaying the bad news; Russia, Iran North Korea…etc.
Since he is getting this cover, I would have to say it is going fair. Thats just being honest, and I didn’t vote for the guy.

I’m in that 52% (now 46%). Actually, I’m in the 18% that voted “Fair”.
Compared to what I expected, I actually think it’s going fairly well. No colossal Panama Canal-style travesties yet. “Good”? He-l, no. “Fair” accounts for the fact that he’s kept the SecDef on and is not a complete hard-liner on the use of enhanced interrogation methods.
He may get to that insane point eventually, though, so I will keep an open mind where my “fair” rating is concerned :-).
