Remember how Pelosi recently said they weren't going to make the same mistakes as the congress did that was elected with BJ in 92, which resulted in the GOP takeover in '94? What was it she said they weren't going to do? Oh yeah--overreach. Hell's bells--they don't know how to do anything else.

[...] Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid counted on a significant honeymoon period after the inauguration to ensure passage of their bloated Generational Theft Act, or as they call it, the “stimulus” package. After forcing the bill through the House without allowing any Republican input on its makeup, the bill has landed in a more hostile Senate, where even Democrats wonder aloud how many votes it will get in its present form. They seem to have their fingers on the pulse of America, because according to the latest Gallup poll, the honeymoon has already ended: A strong majority of Americans (75%) want Congress to pass some version of President Obama’s economic stimulus plan, but this group is split down the middle on whether it should be passed as is or with major changes.

Well look a Kentucky today. Where the hell is “O” Dumbo as they freeze. In his house at 80 Deg. watching the Super Bowl.

Did I see somewhere that people on SS will only get a 300.00 rebate and Illegal Aleians will get 500.00 ?????????

Obama has done nothing for Kentucky. Breaks my heart that I am helpless to help them or you. It is in the high 70's here today. This should wake people up or at least some. They don't care about us. We are their puppets. Notice how long the Anti Depressant Drug commercials are getting? And how many different pills now? Guess they are implying that we should be all drugged up now. That way we won't feel the pain.

This Syimulis bill is gearwd to do one thing. It will try and show voters in 2010 that the Dems are thinking about them. Screw the people that are hurting now.

I believe he does have it right. It is easy to sign. Last night there was a link but the site was messed up.

Filibuster and make calls or faxes just speak up. I have been driving them nuts lately, but my old jobs I had to be a tiger. grrrrrrrrrrr

Looking closer at the Gallup numbers, we have

38% favor the stimulus plan as it is
37% favor making major changes
17% favor rejecting the plan altogether.
8% no opinion.

"Major Changes" + "Reject" = 54% = a MAJORITY.

Republican Senators MUST filibuster--the PEOPLE are behind you!

my question is if the Dems know this thing will tank the economy even more and thats what they want to happen or if they are really this dumb?

My fear is they want a Depression so they can fancy Obama as the new FDR for that Cult that is out there and get away with full blown Socialism with the next “new New Deal” and pass the new “workers Bill of Rights” b.s.

If the Dems provoke a Depression, Obama will be the next Herbert Hoover, and the Jindal/Palin Administration will rescue the country.

The Democrats really are that stupid

They could have spent the whole pack on themselves and their buddies by burying the money on programs like the ones FDR set up. Public works program set up by a Bill could allocate the money later, under cover, to the pols and contractor friends

Instead, riding the O wave, they named who got the money

<blockquote
And what’s hilarious about Obama’s response is that he thinks that he going to tap into some kind of populist groundswell of support by having people host sessions in their homes to “educate” people about the stimulus package. Is this some kind of Tupperware Party?

(quoted from "JP" above..)

In other countries those are called re-education circles. Recommended by Stalin, Mao, and now Obama.

Make to contact your Senators. Make 2 phone calls. Get on their website and submit a comment form. Don't make the blogs the only place you say something!

This is what I sent my AZ senators last week.

Honorable Senator, 01-30-2009
I am writing to you today to inform you of my severe opposition to the current “stimulus” bill before you today. To call this bill a “stimulus” package requires what Sec. of State Clinton calls “a willing suspension of disbelief.”

A cursory glance at the bill shows a tremendous amount of pork spending on pet projects. Two very simple tests for each item in the “stimulus” bill;
Does this item put money into the hands of individual taxpaying American citizen immediately?
Does this item cause the national debt to increase?
If the answers are YES on the first and NO on the second than this “stimulus” bill would be a good thing. However the answers are NO and YES respectively. Which means this “stimulus” bill is a spending package, not a stimulus package.

My solution; cut payroll taxes in perpetuity, make post tax deductions on my pay check to pretax deductions, cut the capital gains tax to 10% in perpetuity and cut the federal tax on gas. If I have more money in my hands I have more options were to spend my money. If I have more money to spend in my local economy I help “STIMULATE” the economy which causes more tax revenues to be generated. More jobs will be created as I will have more demand for goods and services! Multiply this onto the macro scale and real things start to happen. My stimulus bill would put more money into my pocket and pockets of all Americans!

Go in the opposite direction and the opposite is going to happen. If I have less money in my pocket I am going to stockpile more cash and I will not spend my money except for the basic necessities of life. I am not going to risk my family well being on the hope something changes.

HOPE is not strategy, it is a prayer.

Please think about the individual taxpaying American and the future generations’ burden of this overwhelming debt.

Please vote NO!

Respectfully,

My name

And on the new post in HotAir about the revolt, shows that more then the stimulus, something else in happening.
Do any of you ever remember, just 3 weeks after winning a landslide election, your own party beginning a revolt?
I cannot remember such a thing...not even close.
Something bigger is happening then what we know...internal polls, stimulus package, power struggle between Pelosi and Obama...something is brewing behind the dem closed doors...
