My feeling exactly. But along the way, I will defend to the death “any” Republican as vociferously as the small “l” iberals do with their own. Lets stop eating out own and stop the dogpile. That’s the MSMs job. There isn’t a candidate we have that the press doesn’t have an angle to attack. From my home state of PA, they took a decent guy like Rick Santorum and painted him to be an extreme right-wing kook and they succeeded because his small “l” iberal Republican legislative partner Arlen looked at him as toxic with the small “l” Republicans in PA.
We don’t have to be mindless Obamatrons, but we need to take care of our own.

eating “our” own
hawkdriver on February 1, 2009 at 8:36 AM
He shoots….. HE SCORES!!!!!!
Do they let you use actual utensils or are you only allowed to use sporks?
Squiggy on February 1, 2009 at 8:41 AM
If that were not so stupid it would be funny.
Squid Shark on February 1, 2009 at 8:56 AM
Why do you think that is?
Squid Shark on February 1, 2009 at 8:57 AM
I agree, but people can not resist taking a crack at some of “our own” in order to build up Palin as some kind of martyr messiah.

No guts… Just hate of a solid American woman. They (the left) absolutely hate and have a need to destroy Sarah because she is everything that they are not, and could never be. A good parent, spouse, leader, and God loving human.
-
They are not interested in critiquing or second guessing the One… He is like them. Lying, conniving, America hating, baby killing, and socialist.
-
Noneya, et al will never post to a thread that exposes beyond a doubt that the One is incompetent… That would be blasphemy… The Coolade is strong in this One guy. But, it’s still just koolade.

True, and I think that what you do with Christ is the whole division of this country. Do you stand for sin or righteousess, truth or spin and lies, morality or immorality, family values or alternative lifestyle, being charitable yourself or giving away OTHER PEOPLE’s money, our Judeo-Christian heritage or an ever-changing Constitution, individual liberty or state control? Christ asked his disciples, “Who do YOU say that I am?” How we answer that determines the answers to all these issues.
Thank you S, CCRWM, sheebe and others for lifting the conversation. I join you in praying for Noneya and dakine and benny. And by the way, pray for our President that he would understand that he is not the Messiah and that he would realize his need of a walking, talking relationship with Christ.

That’s cutting both ways and it all ought to stop I think.
You know the analogy of the sailors pissed off at each other drilling holes in the hull. If the ship sinks, we all drown.
hawkdriver on February 1, 2009 at 9:11 AM
Stupidity , hypocrisy etc , you name it you got it.
the_nile on February 1, 2009 at 9:20 AM
Agreed. Those of us who have been bashing Sarah should stop, while those bashing McCain, Graham, etc., should also put aside their knives. Fair critiquing or questioning is ok and should be done. We should always be willing to hold our elected leaders’ feet to the fire–such as with Porkulus. But also, we should remember the Eleventh Commandment. In other words, constructive criticism good…slamming for the sake of slamming bad.
As for the lefties: We should all know by now that when a libbie tells you to turn left, you should immediately turn right. They do not and never have had our best interests at heart. Take their advice at your own peril.

Speaking as a PHP web developer: Technically, yes, it is possible; I can think of some code I could write that would enable a feature like that.
HOWEVER:
1. This is a WordPress site, and I am not aware that WordPress has any features like that. HotAir can only implement the features that WordPress offers… and I really doubt that WordPress is going to add that, for the following reasons…
2. The code to accomplish that would not be the easiest to work in.
3. Remembering saved settings like what you are suggesting is generally done via a “cookie,” and cookies tend to get wiped from the hard drive as soon as a session ends. For that reason, the only way to consistently apply something like that would be to have the site come up on a “sign in” basis, and generally speaking, political blogs don’t work that way, at least not for read-only usage.
I agree that it would be a wonderful feature, but alas, it’s not likely.

Actually, while Palin was being interviewed by a radio station, it was the interviewer who called Lyda Green a bitch. Admittedly, Palin didn’t contradict him. :) Lyda is, in fact, such a colossal b!tch she tried to schedule state events to cause Palin to miss her son’s high school graduation.

Reading this is somewhat reassuring about where Palin stands on the stimulus bill.

Sorry forgot to link this.
terryannonline on February 1, 2009 at 10:14 AM
Why is this blog not posting about the guvs backing the stimulus?
Are they trying to hide it from you?
getalife on February 1, 2009 at 10:23 AM
Thank you for this information. It would be a nice feature–and it is really easy to make suggestions for how other people manage their sites. :)
DrMagnolias on February 1, 2009 at 10:27 AM
How about the democratic governers. I bet they oppose this plan and will not be asking for any money. The think the msm is trying it’s best to force the republicans out of everything that is going on in Washington. They want them to look bad to the rest of the country.
Just say by some miracle the stimulus works. Even if it takes 10 years. They will critize the republicans for blocking it. But now the are critizing the Republicans Govs for being in favor of it. No matter what we will never win with the media.

Why are you not denouncing your dear leader for expanding renditions? Where is the outrage?
Disturb the Universe on February 1, 2009 at 11:46 AM
Yeah, that’s a good question. I’ll bet George Bush is feeling more and more vindicated with each day and with each new sign of Obama’s support of his policies. I wonder why the moonbats aren’t just furious??
ddrintn on February 1, 2009 at 12:06 PM
Nah, it’s not that really. The Democrats are just desperate for ANY Republican to share in the responsibility for this mess. They know as well as anyone this boondoggle is sinking in public approval.
ddrintn on February 1, 2009 at 12:09 PM
2.7% will go to roads, bridges, etc. as of the present. If Alaska taxpayers are going to be paying for this package for several generations, it would be irresponsible for Palin not to try to get them something in return. And infrastructure is a good place to put things so the blue collars get the results.
I doubt she will be successful, since, according the the new oft-published map, Alaska is colored red on the political legend. This gives it miniscule input into the content of the stimulus, since no Republican entered Pelosi’s office while the bill was being drafted, and it is down a Senator, giving it only half the influence of any other state in the Senate horsetrading. [Palin never controlled the appointment of the replacement Senator; the People of Alaska passed a 2004 ballot initiative requiring a special election to fill a Senate vacancy.]

Your sparkling commentary is wanted on the Surprise! Obama Expands Renditions thread.
Or do you fear to tread on that thread?
Disturb the Universe on February 1, 2009 at 12:57 PM
As much as a good deal of us like Sarah, I’ve never seen anyone do this.
Jenfidel on February 1, 2009 at 2:03 PM
I agree. I have yet to see on any of the recent Palin threads here on HotAir even ONE legitimate major criticism of Sarah.
I am dismayed to see a little unfair criticism even on the part of fellow Republicans and Conservatives.
I’m one of Sarah’s Faydakin, but if she turns out to not be the government reformer and fiscal conservative we thought she was, then we can always move on to Jindal, Sanford and others.
But chances are, based on what we’ve seen Sarah do in Alaska and her upbringing and the election and now the PAC, she will probably be a very popular NATIONAL GOP politician some time in the future.
I get pretty sick of McCain’s behavior, but then he reels me back by not being for the stimulus/pork plan.
Let’s agree to keep the conversation between us regular HA posters on the issues hot and heavy but leave out the troll-talk since fighting viciously amongst ourselves will only hurt us, not he Dems or libs.
Let’s bury the hatchet in the heart of liberalism.
Sapwolf on February 1, 2009 at 3:08 PM
Personally, I like reading the opposing views, unless someone is just spewing old cliche lines and talking points; if so, it’s easy enough to just hit the Page Down key…
Red State State of Mind on February 1, 2009 at 3:32 PM
AGree with you. The best way to limit the troll talking is to not respond to it. I’m guilty as well, but have now seen the light. I’ll gladly debate someone back and forth if they have reasonable points to make.
Red State State of Mind on February 1, 2009 at 3:35 PM
Candi,
I certainly did not mean you were a troll. I appreciate your links. I’m sorry I was unclear.

Its ok,I probably read it wrong. No offense was taken. I hope I wasnt being too forward. It seems that this is yet another attempt at the Drive By Media to discredit or make assumptions without clarifying the stance BEFORE they go to print.
canditaylor68 on February 1, 2009 at 5:38 PM
Hey, Candi,
Everything’s fine. I replied on the other thread as well.

Spot on.
long_cat on February 2, 2009 at 8:17 AM
i’d suggest the moonbats ARE furious because they are paying attention now (ironicly) and are seeing what the Dems have to offer them (nothing). And, they’re turning repub (the normal ones).
This exact thing happened to me back in 2000. Now is the time for us to expand our party, by virtue of people watching Dems and learning and getting fed up quickly.
The GOP could develop a lock on the largely conservative black community from here on out. But, I think we’ll have to be patiently libertarian in some ways. That’s what M. Steele understands. I’m understanding it more and more. And, it’s not a paradoxical as naysayers would have us believe.
Even when I turned on Dems in 2000, I didn’t turn pro-life until 2004. It’s a process, we just need to keep at it.
