When the White House talks about corporate jets, Mike Pence needs to bring up Pelosi’s personal aircraft. When Obama talks about corporate responsibility our side needs to talk about the responsibility of govt not to load more debt onto the backs of Americans.

I just watched Shelby talk in broad generalities about why the Democrat approach is the wrong approach. Technically correct but poorly communicated. It was like Bush 41 getting skunked in a debate with Bill Clinton because Bush talked in a disembodied way about how interest rates work while Clinton aced the question by talking about how it impacts the consumer on a personal level.

I suspect that resistance is only going to increase over time but we have only a short window in which we can force changes to the bill itself.

It is high time our side starts crafting a winning message. Now is the time to start staking out territory and laying down markers. I suspect that the general public is uneasy with this spending and would respond positively to articulate leadership. Obama’s support is not as widespread or as deep as many would have us all believe. It only takes an accumulation of missteps to begin the process of apply the brakes.

Didn’t the House Repubs turn down the original stimulus, then help pass it on the come-back? Look for that to happen again. They’ll say its better because they forced some small change, and then help pass it.

These banks received bailout funds therefore ANY bonuses awarded at the end of the year came from taxpayer money. It doesn’t matter how money came in, they claimed they needed 700 billion dollars. It seems they actually needed 18 billion less than that, which might have gone towards the stimulus or not been added to the defecit. This is 100% WRONG.

I agree Death. Seriously I do. I also believe that you will find most of us here were opposed to TARP from the beginning even when members of my party and president were screaming the sky is falling.

I don’t think you even watch these networks, with the exception of MSNBC anchors do not repeat DNC talking points. They’ve been very skeptical of things on CNBC as well as CNN. Now have they asked hard quesations of GOP on, of course, but they are giving them tons more airtime than they are Dems. There just isn’t really a response to that.

Phew…where to start. First off there is not ONE individual who enriched themselves to 18B, they were referring to an undisclosed number of financial companies.

Also there is no proof that they used taxpayer money, and if they didn’t then it is none of your business. Bereaucrat’s on the other had survive solely on taxpayer extorted money with no threat of penalty for misuse. They waste the money they simply raise taxes to get more.

I have no love for any of the corporate media, it’s nice to see that Fox is doing some balance. But if you accept that conclusion then you must also accept that GOP reps are outnumbering Dem by 2-1 on this issue. Seems the problem is not that the media is biased against conservative voices, it’s that those voices aren’t pushing the stories YOU think are most important, i.e. this illegal immigrants getting stimulus money thing.

Honestly though, I loathe both of them, and if my former party had not totally lost its way and bailed these fools out I wounld not have shed a tear to watch them crash and burn.

Because Tim Geithner’s confirmation is as important as a balanced perspective on the economic recovery plan and the American people’s access to more than GOP talking points? OK whatever. There’s no way around it. As usual the MSM is allowing the GOP to decide the terms of the debate and the networks you claim to hate the most, CNN et al are the ones giving them the largest platforms.
