Audio: Lefty ad uses Rush comment to target GOP on stimulus
posted at 7:55 pm on January 29, 2009 by Allahpundit
All part of the coordinated attempt I mentioned yesterday to crown Limbaugh leader of the party so they can hang his “I hope he fails” comment around the neck of the entire GOP. The idea, of course, is to reframe Republican opposition to The One’s agenda as a product of mindless obstructionist partisanship rather than a principled objection to a piece-of-shinola bill. Listen for yourself here. I’m underwhelmed.
This is the same group, by the way, that’s targeting moderate Republican senators with a TV ad urging them to embrace the Hopenchange. I’m underwhelmed by that clip too, but unlike this one, it might actually work.

$10,520 for every man, woman and child in this country, taken from your pockets… %820 billion total, only ten per cent of the “stimulus” to be spent on 2009.
Close to half goes to entities that sponsor or employ or both members of the SEIU, federal, state, and municipal employee unions, or other Democrat-controlled unions.
I HOPE HE FAILS. I HOPE THE WHOLE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS FAILS.

They can run all the ads they want, just wasting money. Rush has more in one hour of broadcasting then this will ever reach…and the only ones who it really touches, are the hardcore liberals…
Keep it up libs, you are wasting money…Rush will cut you to pieces.

We need to melt the phones to the Senators to offset these ad blitzes…when they hear from us in volume they seem to get the message (minus the media filter that is)
I called Mitch McConnell to thank him for what he said on FOX today, and on Kudlow on CNBC..saying he will not support the bill..and the great news is he said the first amendment they will offer on the GOP side will address THE HOUSING, finally!
and all Americans KNOW its teh housing stoopid!! the Dems will look like schmucks for spending on pet projects and not taking care of housing
or they will have to acknowledge they will come back for the massive TARP TWO expansion /bank rescue to handle housing right after this pork thing passes.
a win/win

I hope Obama fails, too. During the election campaigns, Obama and the Democrats were screaming about deficit spending and blaming Bush for it. But now that Obama is President, not only is deficit spending okay its going to save our country! Yes folks. Obama is going to save us. All we have to do is look the other, drop our shorts and grab our ankles because guess where he’s going to get the money from.

Problem is france is already down to a 35 hour work week

Im sorry but france is about to find out that asking for too much means economic collapse.
All of europe got away with their socalism by riding on americas support (we paid for their defense) so they spend billions on importing muslims to do the jobs they were too stuck up to do..

I told this story earlier today on another Rush thread but it cracks people up, so here it is again for the Night Crew … (sorry if you already saw it)
I used to debate and post articles on a political dicussion board on WebTV under the user name “Dain-Bramage”. To mess with Libs I started a thread I titled “My favorite Rush Qoute”, when you click the link, the page says “If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.” The Libs would flip out and respond to it with all their typical hate talk “That’s the dumbest thing I ever heard! I hate that fat stupid a**hole Rush! That qoute doesn’t even make sense! Rush is fat and stupid! Etc etc etc …” Me and the other Cons would bust up laughing at these Libs who had no idea that I was actually qouting Rush the ROCK BAND! (Song – “Free will”).

Not buying into this AP… A few days ago this pork package had an approval rating of around 56%, and today this rating has fallen to around 42%. The Senate will dick around with this bill for 2-3 weeks, which will give the people time to read, listen, and see how bad this bill is for them. That’s the key here folks, this bill is bad for all Americans and that most certainly includes our children, their grand children, and their great grand children.
The duty for all responsible Americans is to challenge our citizens to study this historic bill and make their own judgments. Don’t trust others, study up yourselves. Get at this bill and read a certain amount of the bill each night. 11 Democrats begged Pelosi to allow them to vote NO on this bill for good reason. Dozens of others will likely regret the day they voted YES on bill. Drudge, HughHewitt, Instapundit, Ace, and many others will be busy reporting details of this bill. Hopefully HA will also perform this civic duty, as this bill is absolutely historical. This bill is the biggest power grab that has ever been attempted by a political party; in my humble opinion. I urge everybody to make their own educated opinion.

If this bill passes……
……. ads like this will replace truck commercials during football games. Pure propaganda, paid by your tax dollars.
I have a solution while we still have time……
Start an add of our own, spelling out to the American people exactly how we got here………..
The Community Reinvestment Act under Carter,………… Clinton giving it teeth,………. banks forced to lend money to people who could not pay it back under the guise of liberal social engineering or face fines……… etc., etc,………..
……….. ending with a true venting of what is in this bill, how much our children and grandchildren will be burdened, only to entrench the Democratic party in power.
Fight back with the facts……….
Fight back with the truth……….
…………… the polls are already showing that support for the “pork bill” is dropping like a rock.

Rush and others have brought up a good point: There is hardly ANY press that the bill ACTUALLY PASSED THE HOUSE VOTE! Obama got what he wanted.
Simply put – the Left and Dems know this is a POS and they need Republicans on board for cover.
It’s also illustrative (in other Limbaugh video posted elsewhere on this site) that Rush is the only one (apparently) pointing out the real bi-partisanship: that 11 DEMOCRATS voted with the Republicans! That the REAL partisanship is on the Democrat side – only Dems voted for the Bill.

This is a very good thing.
The liberal attack machine will always latch onto whoever they perceive as being the number one conservative in America. For eight years, that was George Bush. Then for a brief period it was Sarah Palin. (John McCain never made the cut.)
And now, the liberals are going after Rush Limbaugh. That helps the only thing he really cares about – growing his audience. And it frees up the Republicans in Congress to do whatever they want without fear of being the one to stick his head up too far and become the new “Newt That Stole Christmas.”

I wasn’t born to walk on water
I wasn’t born to sack and slaughter
But on my soul, I wasn’t born
To stoop and knuckle under
A man can learn to steal some thunder
A man can learn to work some wonder
And when the gauntlet’s down,
It’s time to rise and climb the sky
And soon the moon will smolder
And the winds will drive
Yes, a man grows older but his soul remains alive
All those tremulous stars still glitter
And I will survive!
Let my heart grow colder and as bitter as a falcon in the dive
There was a dream, a dying ember
There was a dream, I don’t remember
But I will resurrect that dream
Though rivers stream and hills grow steeper
For here in hell where life gets cheaper
Oh, here in hell the blood runs deeper
And when the final duel is near
I’ll lift my spear and fly
Piercing into the sky and higher
And the strong will thrive
Yes, the weak will cower while the fittest will survive
If we wait for the darkest hour
Till we spring alive
Then with claws of fire, we devour like a falcon in the dive

Depends upon what your vision of “our” country is. Obama’s vision of America is different than mine. I hope his vision doesn’t come to be. That a nice way of saying that I hope he fails in his goals, goals which I don’t share. In so doing, we may save the country. As for the President, many have sucked. Obama sucks. In a Republic, who is “the country?” Is it the Government which is for the moment in the saddle? Why, the Government is merely a servant- merely a temporary servant; it cannot be its prerogative to determine what is right and what is wrong, and decide who is a patriot and who isn’t. Its function is to obey orders, not originate them.
- Mark Twain
The true patriotism, the only rational patriotism, is loyalty to the Nation ALL the time, loyalty to the Government when it deserves it.
- Mark Twain
We teach them to take their patriotism at second-hand; to shout with the largest crowd without examining into the right or wrong of the matter, exactly as boys under monarchies are taught and have always been taught. We teach them to regard as traitors, and hold in aversion and contempt, such as do not shout with the crowd, and so here in our democracy we are cheering a thing which of all things is most foreign to it and out of place, the delivery of our political conscience into somebody else’s keeping. This is patriotism on the Russian plan.
- Mark Twain
My kind of loyalty was to one’s country, not to its institutions or its officeholders. The country is the real thing, the substantial thing, the eternal thing; it is the thing to watch over, and care for, and be loyal to. Institutions are extraneous, they are its mere clothing, and clothing can wear out, become ragged, cease to be comfortable, cease to protect the body from winter, disease, and death.

For 8 long years, we have endured the left rooting for (and working for) the failure of anything Bush did. It was unpatriotic then and it’ll be unpatriotic now if the right does the same thing to Obama.
If some posters and even some radio personalities do this, it still will not rise to the level of what Pelosi and Reid did.

This ad suffers from the same lie. But today on his show Rush had to welcome all the new listeners and explain that his “talent on loan from God” comment was really a humble acknowledgement of God’s blessing in his life and is no different from others thanking God for what talent they have. I looked at the DCCC. It was great to see those comments.
I’d love to know what the DCCC thought!
INC on January 29, 2009 at 9:18 PM
When it’s a republican dissent is patriotic, when a democrat is the president dissent is treasonous.
When the liberals in the minority we should have minority rules and… when liberals are in the majority it should be majority rules…. Get with the program.
In short liberal good, not liberal bad…. Get with the program. Socialist good not socialist bad….my bad.

You know what I’m afraid of is this is all kabuki theatre. It will fail in the Senate, go back to the House, then pass and pass again with enough pork stripped to make it look less partisan, just like the last time.

PLEASE FAIL, FAIL, FAIL. I WANT BHO TO FAIL AND FAIL MISERABLE. I WANT TO LAUGH AT HIM AND HIS FAILED SOCIALIST IDEAS.
Mercy4Me on January 29, 2009 at 10:10 PM
LOL (even though I know they are serious). You can always count on the absolute insanity of the left. We’ll hear tons more of this stuff. And most of America will start to get that same feeling of creepiness about the dems that that Newsweek jerk got the day after BHO won the Precedency. And creepiness really gets to people.
progressoverpeace on January 29, 2009 at 10:16 PM
I don’t think they can take out Rush. He really is too big to fail.
Alana on January 29, 2009 at 10:19 PM
It really is crazy. And it pretty much shows that they exist to hate on people. I mean, they got this through the house, and they STILL have to excoriate individual Congresspeople?
Surely they aren’t that worried about it passing the Senate.
I think it also shows that they want total, unquestioned control of everything, of the entire country, and nothing less will really do.
Alana on January 29, 2009 at 10:22 PM
Gee, from the team that gave us “General Betray-us” and “We support the troops just not the mission” now we’re supposed to go weak in the knees? Moveon indeed…..
I hope the dear leader remains in good health but fails to pass anything beyond gas.
moxie_neanderthal on January 29, 2009 at 10:25 PM
The Dems know they’re slipping. I think this from Rasmussen was a thread somewhere here today (headlines?). Sorry, I’m tired, but I wanted to put this in:
The longer it takes to go through, the more the truth will start to filter out.
INC on January 29, 2009 at 10:26 PM
Of course, I believe saying a third is tax cuts is a misnomer, but the approval stats were what I wanted to quote.
INC on January 29, 2009 at 10:27 PM
That’s the reason why we should let Liberals know this one thing without any doubt.
This. Is. WAR.
newton on January 29, 2009 at 10:31 PM
I sometimes get the feeling that the left is grossly overestimating the boundless love and devotion most Americans feel for Obama. Backlash is coming.
ddrintn on January 29, 2009 at 10:32 PM
I don’t think it’s really about the bill per se, to most of those on the left. Most of them couldn’t tell you anything about it. It’s about avoiding a humiliating defeat for Dear Leader. They cannot tolerate dissent.
ddrintn on January 29, 2009 at 10:34 PM
how about ‘dingy’ harry “THIS WAR IS LOST” reid…is he unpatriotic?? how about the NY times revealing the financial intercept program??
why don’t you name the liberals who were not patriotic, and who wanted the US to fail?
right4life on January 29, 2009 at 10:43 PM
Hahaha boy DID that backfire! I read parts of the petition page itself, and parts of the page about “Limbaugh Attacks, You Respond”. hahahaha.
I especially loved the comment on the petition page, from a Democrat, apparently, who pointed out that the petition lied, and showed exactly how it had. Then he/she said the Democrats shouldn’t do that, that he was disappointed, and that it just played into Republican hands.
Similar on the “You Respond” page. Several Democrats expressing dismay with this, and with attacking private citizens.
I’m pleased with that evidence that there are fair-minded Democrats about. They just apparently aren’t in office.
Alana on January 29, 2009 at 10:46 PM
Or in the MSM. But yeah, it’s hilarious. Overreach has started earlier than I expected.
ddrintn on January 29, 2009 at 11:02 PM
That ad is a stretch. It presupposes that every Republican in the House listens to, and heeds the advice of, Rush Limbaugh. It always fails to adequately explain why 11 democrats voted no on the bill.
dglenn on January 29, 2009 at 11:12 PM
I would like to point out that this is not the first time Obama has chosen to go after a private American citizen. I listen to Sean Hannity all the time, and during the course of the campaign, Obama and his minions (Rev. Wright, Father Flager, etc.) repeatedly attacked Sean by name, in public, out loud. Sean never backed down, and still hasn’t. In fact, his opening is now a montage of all these people on the radical left attacking him.
I always wondered during the campaign why Obama chose to go after Hannity and leave Rush alone. Some part of me thought maybe he was smart enough not to attack Rush. I’m beginning to see I had overestimated him WAAAAY too much!
And in case Rush’s people see this: GO RUSH!!!! You’re saying what many of us out here have been shaking our heads and saying for over a year now.
I do not want ANY of Obama’s stated plans to work including closing Gitmo, funding foreign (or domestic) abortions, FOCA, the “stimulating nothing” bill, the “unfairness doctrine,” a premature end to the Iraq war, a reach-out to Muslims who support and fund terrorists, nationalization of banks, the car industry, health care, our 401K’s…
It is beyond me how ANYBODY can hope he succeeds at all of this. My 10-year-old daughter mentioned the other day, “Did you know that Texas could secede just by having the Governor say, ‘We’re outta here’?” I laughed (although it’s true). She said, “I hope we don’t have to do that, but it’s nice just in case.”
If a ten-year-old can see this…
