Video: Er, what if Mexico collapses?

Somewhere Geraldo’s watching this and cursing under his breath about wingnut alarmism. Tell it to the Defense Department, champ. How many goodies are packed away in this Pandora’s box? Let’s see: Our illegal immigration problem would rapidly turn into a refugee problem; the new warlords in charge would be cultivated by America’s enemies for border access; and, as Beck notes, either the U.S. or the World Bank or both would probably end up on the hook for billions as part of a national bailout. A forward-thinking chief executive might want to prepare now by reinforcing the border with walls and infrastructure improvements and expanding the BP to make sure they’re capable of providing a first line of defense. But that would cost tons of money. Anyone know of any spending bills in Congress that might help cover the expense?

Don’t be silly, Allah…we won’t have any money left over after we finish buying shiny new cars for the entire Federal government, etc.

On a related matter, I think it was a great idea to pair up Glenn Beck and Michelle Malkin as much as they have been. The only thing that would be more awesome is if they gave Geert Wilders and Mark Steyn an regular gig on Al Jazeera TV.

Fox news this morning, was showing some info, after the news of those shiney new cars. Federal govt, uses over 900,000 gallons of gas a day????

No wonder they want us all to conserve, and use public transportation. It means more for them, and oh goody…we get to pay for it too!

capejasmine on January 28, 2009 at 8:10 PM

We should just take over and move down to Mexico. Hell, most of them are here anyway. We’d just be invading an empty country. Miami can be the new New York. Cancun can be the new Miami. Old New York will most likely become the new Greenland at this rate. Give the squatters the frozen north and Al Gore.

Coronagold on January 28, 2009 at 8:12 PM

Funny Allah, the ONLY time you remotely advocate anything conservative is when you’re talking about something that involves your boss, yet you still manage to get a little nod to the left in there.

So, we should go with the stimulus package to get BP and a wall? You’re too much!

It’s getting mucho bad down here. Does anyone know Geraldo’s address so that Maria and our 6 ninos and uncle Garcia and his wife Esmeralda and their 8 ninos and cousin Filiberto and his wife Grizelda and their 9 ninos could move in with him? Cousin Lino got shot last week so he won’t be coming but his widow Maricruz would like to come with their 5 ninos too.

Knock off the AP bashing. It’s wrong and annoying.

The one effect that hasn’t been brought up, but will be a reality, is that you will have a great deal of American citizens in Arizona, New Mexico, and most of all Texas…unleashed. Right now there are certain political considerations about shooting illegal aliens, especially spotted while crossing the border. If Mexico collapses, that isn’t going to matter anymore. They will be getting a lot of target practice.

MadisonConservative on January 28, 2009 at 8:18 PM

You know……

…….. I am always curious why groups like La Raza are not the first ones in line, organizing Mexican patriots, to go back home and fight to clean up their corrupt country.

They are quick to get into our faces to fund illegals, teach revisionist history, and interfere with our politics……..

……. but when it comes to Mexico, they are like a cowering Chihuahua in the corner.

Why is that…….?

Seven Percent Solution on January 28, 2009 at 8:19 PM

I agree, we don’t want the troubles.
But if there is a (worse) collapse, we’re going to have them anyway.
Better, after a total collapse, to just move in and fix things so we don’t have this huge economic and structural (mainly in the law-enforcement sense) delta on our southern border.

A couple of friends in Arizona have informed me that they have already done so in some smaller US border towns. Supposedly a few were under quarantine, and may currently be technically under martial law. I don’t have any printed reports to back that up, but I trust these two. It’s not good.

lets spend only a few billion fixing the fence, and lets employ some 12,000 unemployed gang bangers currently on welfare in , lets say chicago , you know , the chronicly unemployed to stand watch on the border. Pay them a bonus for each illegal they bring across, i mean shoot legally on sight . But the problem here is they will still be shooting registered voters, and acorn employees.

That could be just the thing to push Mexico over the edge. We do not want to “Schumer” Mexico by eroding confidence in the state. I think that would be too large a sign that Mexico has failed.

We have bases and troops and the National Guard that can be deployed very quickly. No need to be hasty.

Beauty AND eloquence! Can’t beat it with a stick, MadisonConjob – give it up.

Usually you won’t be banned unless a bunch of losers gang up and complain. For some reason the liberals (and a few claiming conservatism as their creed) tend to hate free speech. Calling out AP (and Ed, too) for posts that have hidden liberal or can’t-we-all-get-along agendas, isn’t that what HOTAIR is all about?

Besides, many here seem to realize what AP is doing. My belief is MM does as well, but keeps him around to appease the unFairness inDoctrine coming any day now.

Well, here in southwest El Paso, literally a hop over the border from the huge (and deadly) Anapra colonia in Juarez, we’re right smack on the border here and so far its been quiet. The fence along Paisano Drive is almost finished, but the bridges and the Sunland Park crossings are still quite porous, if someone really wanted to sneak something over.

They need police protection to do what they do, so it’s unlikely that it will easily cross over, at least for the time being.
A lot of well-to-do Juarenses and Chihuahuenses live here in our neighborhood. It’s a lot safer for them (and their kids) here than even in the big gated communities in Juarez and Chihuahua.

And yet a bunch backwards semi illiterate islamofascist tribesmen from Pakistan don’t seem to have any problem in repeatedly challenging the combined military power of several western nations in Afghanistan.

In fact certain aspects of the border war going on in Afghanistan and Pakistan atm are a perfect example of what can be expected on the border with Mexico if that countries government collapses and the place descends into lawlessness.

Dreadnought223 on January 28, 2009 at 8:57 PM

As of a couple of years ago.

“Though no federal statistics are kept on murders or any other crimes committed by illegal aliens, a number of groups have produced estimates based on data collected from prisons, news reports and independent research.
Twelve Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens, according to statistics released by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. If those numbers are correct, it translates to 4,380 Americans murdered annually by illegal aliens. That’s 21,900 since Sept. 11, 2001.
But the carnage wrought by illegal alien murderers represents only a fraction of the pool of blood spilled by American citizens as a result of an open border and un-enforced immigration laws.
While King reports 12 Americans are murdered daily by illegal aliens, he says 13 are killed by drunk illegal alien drivers – for another annual death toll of 4,745. That’s [another] 23,725 since Sept. 11, 2001.”

After, and only after, a collapse deep enough that the non-criminal part of the population would actually like our help.

As for “unwarranted optimism”, yeah, again I have to agree with you, the big 0 isn’t going to be applying the Monroe doctrine. That’s a good thing, since I’d much rather have a 100 million thankful new voters come in under a Republican administration.

To answer someone else’s “What do we need in Mexico?”:
Oil. Land. Coastline, with (I think) a few good sites for naval bases. Nice people, if they aren’t stuck under a corrupt government.
Most importantly, not having Nuevo-Afghanistan next door.

Mexico is a classic case
where the entire government is so corrupt
where the entire government is liberal
afraid to even enforce their own laws

Unless your an honest citizen
then the police RAPE your sorry ass..

If you look at columbia atleast their president
Beoffe obama TRIED to resist the drug lords
For the Good of the citizens

If you want to see americas future you have 2 clear cut examples

Columbia – still trying to fight (until the democrats cut off all militarty aid) obama says to talk to the drug lords

or
Mexico – which is now bankrupt and so corrupt mexicans are fleeing to the safety of the usa??

that wont last long because the liberals
will make it a crime to resist..
nless your paying off ohh
Pelozi, soros, al-gore, hillary
shees just right a big thank you on the new symbol of america

George washington
Bent over and barney franks and the Democrats
All Taking TURNS…
I say i have had ENOUGH!!!

A forward-thinking chief executive might want to prepare now by reinforcing the border with walls and infrastructure improvements and expanding the BP to make sure they’re capable of providing a first line of defense.

Without the correct ROE border walls and border patrols don’t mean squat. Of course, I’d get banned for saying what the appropriate ROE are … since it has become unfashionable to treat international borders as deadly serious lines …

Why not have a population transfer. All Mexicans move north. Conservatives and allies get Mexico.

Or the other way around. We keep the amber waves of grain.

Interesting point. So, you’re seeing a real possibility for a surge in vigilante justice? Taking that idea further and inverting it, do you also suppose the drug cartels would use their connections with gangs to sew chaos in major U.S. cities in response?

Weight of Glory on January 28, 2009 at 8:28 PM

It has been happening already. About six months ago four headless bodies were found in Baja, Ca. Gangs have been going nuts and infiltrating up to where I live. Santa Maria, Ca. use to be the safest city years back. Now it is getting as violent from gangs. It is going to get crazy and this has been set up for years. I do believe our Government wants that to happen. We might have to fight our selves. Hope not but might. Also in San Diego, Ca. there have been people vanishing. No trace.

Mexico has already imploded. As a Californian I watched the protesters @ the Mormon Temple

Mexico imploded long ago. Living in SoCal I watched my state vote Hope/Change & protest @ the Mormon Temple. Obama was a brand sold to a naive & gullible public. Calimexico is here, now.

Hey Mexico explodes, we’ll all get a free gardener and housemaid. Win-win.

Those lying bastards in Washington passed an amnesty bill some time back. Remember? Said NO more amnesty and that we’d secure our borders. Remember?

Excellent as always. Michelle is really the best news analyst on cable.

That Chicago Thug is really going to have his hands full dealing with problems in our own back yard. We are so screwed.

Islamo-terrorists from one side and Narco-terrorists from the other.

Obama will write a nice letter to the coca Cartels next.

There have been American citizens vanishing from all over the US and no one in government (i.e., Bush) has thought to actually investigate it. Bush was so involved in the war on terror that he forgot the Southern border. He claims now that the Mexicans (and drug lords) were helping us in the WOT by blocking terrorists from entering the country through our southern borders! That’s crap! If Bush believes this, he is delusional! Mexicans don’t care who comes into our country, especially if they get paid for escorting them in! Corruption is everything in Mexico! Once you understand that simple statement, you will understand the Mexican government and the drug cartels.

I work in Santa Maria…I agree with you. It has really changed in the past couple of years.

Er, what if Mexico collapses?

Well, at least in Texas we have got concealed carry.
