He’s a “Convert to Islam”? And we have Imam Hamza’s remarks about “uncovered meat?” What he did is legal under Islam.

We don’t know about the timing of his conversion, for all we know it occurred after the fact to help in damage control for the inevitable fallout. Now if you don’t think that the term “Muslim” is relevant in the descriptions of the women, then you really don’t understand the culture in Algeria, or for that matter, Islam. Just for a moment, in a devout society, consider what it would take to convince a muslim woman to engage in pre-marital, consensual sex with an infidel, let alone have a conversation… She faces not just execution, but a very realistic possibility that the execution will be by stoning. This is not the States. Wives walk behind their husbands in the streets, they don’t speak, and women definitely don’t go around soliciting sex (or even dates) from westerners. Muslim or not.

First reaction: We have a CIA station chief who’s a convert to Islam? WTF?

(Don’t we rotate our people out of sensitive assignments if we discover they’ve been Da’wa-ized? Oh, wait – Islam is a religion of peace, and Da’wa’s not a red flag. Never mind…)

Second reaction: Fine, live by the sword, die by the sword – let the sharia courts deal with him.

(Oh wait – doesn’t that mean he’ll be carried around on their shoulders as a hero, while the poor victims get sentenced to a horrible death? Never mind… Try him in U.S. court, where he may not suffer any consequences either, but at least the poor women will be left alone.)

Please. No scandal in the Muslim world. He’s a Muslim so it can’t be rape.

The real scandal is why the CIA uses a Muslim for anything but target practice. I no longer accept the foolish idea that one can be an American and a faithful Muslim. It’s one or the other. To believe anything else is simply drinking the koolaid.

Was this released by Democrats as a distraction from the porkapalooza orgy of spending going on?

Or, was it released by Republicans so that now Obama has something else on his plate to deal with?

Given ABC broke the story, I’d guess Dems, but maybe they were so caught up in being able to make the Bush Admin. look bad again, they forgot he wasn’t the president anymore?
