Video: Obama’s the “first true American to lead our nation” or something

posted at 4:10 pm on January 27, 2009 by Allahpundit

A predictable twist in Obama hagiography, breaking from the pattern of imputing to the Leader divine powers and recasting him instead as the literal embodiment of the nation’s ideals. The only surprise is that it took this long. I confess, I thought of Lincoln as sort of American-y (American-ish?) until I watched this. Now I see him for the fraud that he is.

Hey, remember when the left scolded Palin for trying to define “real Americans”? Good times. Click the image to watch.

Oh, okay. So George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson — the Founding Fathers — weren’t “true Americans”. Gotcha.

Someone get the straight-jacket for this guy.

I think as Obama’s true character is revealed in the coming weeks and months, and the impact of massive government intrusion and spending is felt … many John Ridley types will have a mental breakdown.

darwin on January 27, 2009 at 4:17 PM

So, the First TRUE AMERICAN, had to spend 5 of his most formative years being raised as a Moslem, in Indonesia?

He needs to be a Brit/Indonesian/American Citizen?

He is someone who has stated that the Constitution puts too many limits on the Government? (to paraphrase)

He is someone who instead of giving his first interview as President to an American Reporter… gives it to an Islamic Enemy Propoganda outlet?

Wow…. guess my idea of being an American, and this guys, are just a bit different..

He shows up on Morning Joe on occasion, and he’s always full of sh*t. I suspect that Morning Joe started going to him, instead of Bob Herbert, after Herbert kept finding phallic symbols in every ad that McCain ran last summer.

Speaking of Herbert, phallic symbols, and the stimulus package, why isn’t he complaining about the implications of using the expression “stimulus package” in connection with Obama?

Darwin,

I don’t think so. Like the MSM being in the tank and have drank gallons of the kool-aid, they are going to have to continue to ignore facts so they can convince themselves that they are right. Keep hoping. This WILL NOT happen, the MSM will continue to ensure that The One is everything anybody ever dreamed he would be, and more. And the eager followers will eat it all up no matter what their senses, and thinking faculties (to the extent that they exist) might be clearly telling them.
Our hope is in raising real conservative leaders with the skills required to make their point to the nation over the heads of the media, a tall order but one can allways hope.

When people start rejecting faith in God, they end up putting their faith in man. The people around them fail them, so they either look to God, keep looking, or fall for a man built up to the grandeur and status of Obama by a fawning media.

The pain will come when that built up man fails them, unless they continue to let themselves be convinced by the media that it’s not his fault.

I was in Washington last week for the March for Life and while I was waiting at a red light a couple of women (who I would guess were Obama’s supporters) knocked at my van door begging for money) I was tempted to send them to the White House to ask for Obama, who’s supposed to cure all their ills. I wonder if these people ever put 2 and 2 together, their life will likely be as miserable after four years of Obama as it is today and they will vote him right back in if they have a chance.

missouriyankee on January 27, 2009 at 7:21 PM

Brainwashing!

WHY IS THE ONE LOVED?

It is simple. Movies, books, television shows, sports events and everything else has made men who LOOK like The One the ultimate hero and male sex symbol for tha past 40 years or so. I’m not going to name the considerable list of stars who look like him. God bless them for their success but audiences pulled for these heros because they wanted to and that predisposition was present before a line was spoken in the film. This was a factor for both blacks and whites but the blacks had a real and justifyable reason to pull for Him. For both groups, the films also added a coolness that white heroes mostly missed with the exception of Paul Newman and the various Bonds. And the exclusion of white heroes has become more common in recent years.

Then, to put a lock on it, look at the range of ugly, stupid whites cast in films. Look first at early films like One Hundred Rifles, and In The Heat of the Night for superheroes that rule, in part, because their hero, like The One, has the added mojo of white guilt, empathy and venom against the dominant culture and the national history. Then you add whites as fat, rich villains or toothless rednecks while the only acceptable white male is a sidekick, a plot advancing loser or an authority figure who secretly admires the hero.

This is MY explanation of the Slobbering Love Affair and I am thinking of sending it to Bernie Goldberg who probably wouldn’t touch my ideas with a ten foot pole. But that is another influence. And I know about the theory that The One is loved for being a liberal. Oh yes? Look what happened to Edwards and Clinton.

IlikedAUH2O on January 27, 2009 at 7:43 PM
