To find out why Murtha can almost literally crap all over his constituents and still get re-elected, you may also want to take a look at his district on the map. Gerrymandered to all hell. I would love to know who Murtha’s stimulating over there in the PA Legislature to get a plum district like that…

I checked a map, and I see what you mean. PA-12 about 100 miles long, but only a few miles wide in many places, and it’s possible to draw a straight line that crosses its boundary 10 times. It looks like a lobster, or what would happen if you asked a 3-year-old to join a point on the western boundary of PA with a point on the southern boundary using an Etch-a-Sketch.

Except that those who drew those lines were more than 3 years old! The southwest corner of PA probably has quite a few Republican voters, so they extended it outward to include Democrat towns and pork-barrel recipients, then narrowed it down to exclude Republican rural areas. Now if somebody drew a rectangle in southwestern PA, Murtha might be toast. Why not draw a district shaped like sliced bread?

So, basically, you and I paid tax dollars which were funnelled to ACORN to pay fake voters to re-elect this turd.

I fear that while Sen. Dodd is too much of a wussy to withstand being flogged that it might not be punishment but just a “Tuesday” for Rep. Frank.

Murtha’s poll numbers started to slump, and for the first time in a generation, he appeared vulnerable.

I think the problem is when have too many people, like Murtha, overstaying their welcome. A generation. Basically 14 elections where he has doled out OUR money to HIS “constituents.” The millions upon millions Murtha the Slanderer has procured supposedly for his “rust belt district” yet It Is Still “Rust Belt????”
