Ashley Judd on Obama: “It’s so nice to live in America again”
posted at 8:30 pm on January 27, 2009 by Allahpundit
Via JWF. Barely worthy of comment, except that I’m surprised at how often lately we’re hearing intimations from celebs about what is and isn’t genuinely American. Hanks calls Prop 8 supporters un-American, Ridley declares the previous 42 presidents not quite as American as The One, the C-list cavalcade decides that America’s suddenly worth serving again, now this. I never doubted that they felt that way; I just thought they’d be more circumspect about letting it slip, especially after spending the last eight years in histrionics whenever someone on the right voiced a similar sentiment.
After flubbing a few lines, Judd, who emceed the [NARAL] event, stopped and said, “I need to take a breath. I get so excited.”
After a brief slide show featuring Bush and other anti-abortion politicians, during which the crowd booed and hissed, Judd remarked, “It’s so nice to live in America again.”
NARAL President Nancy Keenan, whom Judd called the “Barbra Streisand of the pro-choice movement” because “she does it all,” had the mostly female crowd cracking-up during her speech, as she showed a picture of the bathroom at NARAL’s headquarters, which sports a photo of President Bush signing anti-abortion legislation.
I’m tempted to warn Big Hollywood contributors not to let the media catch them saying something this if the GOP makes a comeback in 2012, as they’ll never hear the end of it, but how likely is it that they’d feel this way in the first place? Exit quotation: “We’re all Americans — NOW.”

Ashley is whistling again. Better put those ear plugs back in Ashley.

Gee, it’s so nice to see the steadfast patriots on the left… steadfasting.
Fair-weather patriots doesn’t even begin to cover it, it’s more like spiteful, power-mad zealots.
It’s not just how they behave the moment after the election, but how they behave before and after that – and so far it ain’t looking good.
Merovign on January 27, 2009 at 11:26 PM
Ashley, it’s time for you to go back to that Kentucky hellhole where you grew up.
Percy_Peabody on January 27, 2009 at 11:28 PM
What the hell makes you think we want her back? Keep her in Hollywood, thank you very much.

After years of inbreeding in Hollywood this is what you get. And yet they mock the south….

hawkdriver on January 27, 2009 at 10:53 PM”
hawkdriver,
I think a lot of us are just naturally getting to that point. I know I am spending less for movies and music. Those idiots ruin for us when they make their political views so well known that that is all we can associate with them.

… and the funny [funny strange, not funny ha-ha] thing is that the RIAA and MPAA use the falling sales as evidence that they are being ripped off by people making illegal copies of their product. They just can’t get their little rubber heads around the fact that their products are crap and produced and promoted by partisan tools that turn off 1/2 their potential audience such that people don’t patronize them.
AZfederalist on January 28, 2009 at 12:10 AM
Watch your mouth talking about my state like that, dick.
Besides, we don’t want this little whore back. Dumb bitch had the audacity to sit with the UNC student section during this year’s game. Not only is she a traitor to the state, she’s a traitor to the union.
leetpriest on January 28, 2009 at 12:45 AM
born Ashley Tyler Ciminella. Hmm! Has a deep voice. Hmm! No kids. Hmm! If she hadn’t taken her clothes off so often in her movies one might think she was actually a dude.
rmel80 on January 28, 2009 at 1:09 AM
I think Ms Judd needs to return to the “perfectionism” rehab that she attended in 2006. Maybe, it just worked too well. Obviously, she can accept being wrong now.
I wonder how many people are like me and do not watch the actors/actresses movies when they make these types of statements. I haven’t watched any of them in YEARS.
I watch Celebrities appear on The View and shun Elizabeth Hasslebeck most days. I figure it breaks even!

Yawn. Glad I wasted two minutes of my time reading that.

History repeats. ( I never say history repeats itself as that seems dumb.)
…I smell another German-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact or equally outrageous development coming from this administration (or allowed by it) and I am imagining the reactions of these actors…….It will make most of the nonsense to date worthwhile. Of course, that is assuming that the herd picks up the appropriate way to think about such a development from their accepted media sources.

Who on earth cares what actors think much less what a has-been actress like Ashley Judd thinks? I can’t think of the last time I saw her headlined in a motion picture any more recently than… half a decade ago. Fine, she’s happy Obama’s in office, blah blah blah… Same as 98% of Hollywood. Not a big surprise here.
Jockolantern on January 28, 2009 at 4:47 AM
Many of us have fewer entertainment dollars to spend these days and we must be more selective of where we spend those dollars. To alienate a considerable percentage of the folks who might go to see your movies is stupid at best.
I don’t think that those who agree with Miss Judd politically would be any more inclined to see her movies than they may have been otherwise, so what’s the benefit to her? All these loud-mouthed leftists in Hollywood are actually doing me a favor. They are limiting my choices in movie-going and, as a result, saving me money. Thanks, Ashley.

Note to Naomi Judd: GET BENT!
You either love this country full time or ya move to another one you feel you can love full time, ya ungrateful sow.

It seems Ashley Judd is securing a relevant position for her imminent old untalented hag-dom…
gridlock2 on January 28, 2009 at 5:50 AM
Actors….people who make a living pretending to be what they are not. I’m not impressed with fakers. They fake their patriotism as it only applies when a liberal is in office. I don’t think they know how to be honest.

Hollyweird has always suffered from Kool-aid poisoning.
grapeknutz on January 28, 2009 at 6:31 AM
Yes, now that cutting unborn babies out of the womb is safe and sound for four more years, “It’s so nice to live in America” again. It’s also good to know that gays have a better shot at becoming Ozzie and Harriet, and that the terrorists are about to have a target rich environment. It’s too bad that we’ll probably have to get hit again before the sheeple who keep electing liberals get a clue.
I wonder if actors are like liberal politicians…are they playing a game in order to look like they belong, or are they really that mentally imbalanced?
orlandocajun on January 28, 2009 at 6:43 AM
Ah, Wynonna, the one Judd sister with some actual talent. It figures. Ashley probably never would have gotten an acting job in the first place if she hadn’t been riding the coattails of her sister, who was then one of RCA’s top money-makers.
Who’s surprised that the ferret-faced, no-talent sister is, like benny, an idiot liberal?

Worth re-watching the movie “The Patriot” with Mel Gibson.

Just another example of how liberals rely on their federal government for their personal daily lives. They are lost without it and allow it dictate their happiness.

She obviously needs work. She hasn’t starred in a hit movie in a while and she’s trying to endear herself to the intelligentsia… pathetic.
D2Boston on January 28, 2009 at 7:54 AM
I think NARAL should post pictures of aborted children then let Ashley, AKA Babs Striesand of abortion, speak in front of those.
This is Ashley’s America where sacrificing the unborn for convenience is the norm. My America sees it as a moral issue. We are living in Ashley’s America right now, but my God is bigger than she is, even bigger than NARAL, bigger than the socialist democrats and bigger than Obama. He judged Israel for their pagan worship involving child sacrifice, and He will judge America too. Count on it, Ashley.

Stalemate. Let’s agree to agree: Ashley is like a vacation home – nice to look at but almost always vacant.

I’d still hit that.

I am wondering what part she likes best?
Is it the part where:
1. You are free to murder an infant?
2. Our Legislators can inflate a housing market by offering loans to high risk borrowers but not implement measures to monitor the loans
3. Sweetheart deals on loans for the legislator but when caught the legislator is stunned when the public cries corruption
4. A legislature that doesn’t implement measures to monitor the high risk loans that far exceed the low to moderate risk loans
5. A legislature that intends to pay for expanded healthcare with a cigarette tax and at the same time, a legislature that intends to fund an anti-smoking campaign?

The mans been in office less than a week. What the hell has changed? Not a damn thing. and in 93 more days it will still be bad. He’s throwing reversal orders all over the place. Bush ran a moral office, and so far this nit wit has reversed nothing but moral things so what does that tell you? He hasnt quite got to screwing us like he said he was going to just yet. Its coming. tis guys first 100 days will be the worst the common good has ever seen.
johnnyU on January 28, 2009 at 8:36 AM
I doubt it. I saw her up close at the Kentucky inaugural ball. She looked fat and tired. I was really surprised. Had handlers to keep the hoi polloi away from her too.
My personal view of her is that she is probably so militantly pro-choice because she has exercised the choice herself. In her New America, she will be congratulated for it.
rockmom on January 28, 2009 at 8:45 AM
It’s so nice to live in a country where a mom can commit the unnatural act of killing a child in her womb, and her president helps her finance it.

The election of our Lightweight President has encouraged our vacuous celebrities to believe that the Average American wants to hear them expound on their Conditional Patriotism. Then they wonder why all their Anti-American movies bomb at the box office. Clueless. All of them.

It would be nice to live in an America where idiots like Ashley Judd would keep their pedantic opinions to them selves and stick to doing whatever it is they’re good at, beside from making an ass of themselves that is.
I cant wait for the revolution to start.

who’s Ashley Judd?
kirkill on January 28, 2009 at 10:30 AM
Hollywood is a politically inbred colony of delusional people who have somehow been unable to distinguish reality from fantasy. Cloistered among the cocktail party set, they imagine that the rest of America is so poltically and culturally backward that only their wisdom, as conveyed by their products and pronouncements, can educate and save us from the hicks in flyover country. I say Ashley Judd certainly has the right to shill for baby killers, but I also have the right to boycott her movies.
NNtrancer on January 28, 2009 at 12:26 PM
Hey Ashley, why don’t you move to a country ruled under Sharia law and see just how much freedom you have to rake n millions from the crap music you make!
Oh and before you move be sure to trash your wardobe and buy lots of Burhka’s because if they see you wearing what you’re wearing in that picture they will take your stupid azz out to the soccer stadium and STONE YOU TO DEATH!!
Now STFU you ignorant SL*T!
Liberty or Death on January 28, 2009 at 12:27 PM

Ashley unfortunately is just like the majority of Hollywood empty heads that think people actually care what they think because they are famous.
I’d still donkey punch her though.

I would like to be a “fly on the wall” when Ashley Judd fills out her 2009 Federal and Kalifornia Income Tax forms and notices that she has just been SCREWED BIGTIME IN THE PURSE by the O’Bummer.

Hit her where it hurts the most! Whom did she think the rich people were that the Messiah was talking about anyway? Look in the mirror.

I liked Ashley Judd.
*Sigh*
All I’m going to be left with soon is real old movies(that’s ok) & maybe Barney cartoons.

Look, this is a massive propaganda effort to make us feel marginalized and powerless. Look at the Immaculation Ceremony. The overwhelming coverage. The forced eleation. Its all about making them seem like an unstaoppable wave.
We’re gonna show ‘em they’re wrong.
Iblis on January 28, 2009 at 2:25 PM
Honestly, the stars coming out and worshiping Obama isn’t really all that stunning. You just have to look at it from their perspective.
They spend all of their adult lives (some even longer) playing pretend for money. But every professional actor knows you don’t just play a part, you become it. You get into their head. You don’t just do what’s on the script, you have to know why your character does it. This is called your character’s motivation.
While these actors may have all the right moves on the stage, they have little experience living a life out of a camera flash’s range. They can’t get into the real life character mode, so they have lost their character’s motivation. Now the stage is set, Enter Obama.
Now, on the stage of life, the actor’s real life character has a lead actor, and the lead actor can handle the plot progression. Since the lead actor role is full, the others are clamoring for the support roles. They now have their motivation. They are now ready to perform in their own real lives.
Just remember, to make a good movie, it’s not enough to show how evil and diabolical the villains (yes, we can assume Bush/Cheney/Rove/Conservatives) are, you have to show how strong/smart/tough/kind hearted/determined the hero is.
Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for purchasing your tickets to this terms entertainment. Please enjoy the showing of America II: The Changing, starring Barack Obama.

For Hollyweirdos, living without a Clintonsleaze to relate to or a slightly black, swarmy ‘Swamee’ in the WH would be nearly impossible. If you live on the surface of things, you can’t get past skin-deep. Also, brain damaged people don’t recover.
