Ashley Judd on Obama: “It’s so nice to live in America again”

Via JWF. Barely worthy of comment, except that I’m surprised at how often lately we’re hearing intimations from celebs about what is and isn’t genuinely American. Hanks calls Prop 8 supporters un-American, Ridley declares the previous 42 presidents not quite as American as The One, the C-list cavalcade decides that America’s suddenly worth serving again, now this. I never doubted that they felt that way; I just thought they’d be more circumspect about letting it slip, especially after spending the last eight years in histrionics whenever someone on the right voiced a similar sentiment.
After flubbing a few lines, Judd, who emceed the [NARAL] event, stopped and said, “I need to take a breath. I get so excited.”
After a brief slide show featuring Bush and other anti-abortion politicians, during which the crowd booed and hissed, Judd remarked, “It’s so nice to live in America again.”
NARAL President Nancy Keenan, whom Judd called the “Barbra Streisand of the pro-choice movement” because “she does it all,” had the mostly female crowd cracking-up during her speech, as she showed a picture of the bathroom at NARAL’s headquarters, which sports a photo of President Bush signing anti-abortion legislation.
I’m tempted to warn Big Hollywood contributors not to let the media catch them saying something this if the GOP makes a comeback in 2012, as they’ll never hear the end of it, but how likely is it that they’d feel this way in the first place? Exit quotation: “We’re all Americans — NOW.”

Ashley’s mother Naomi (a baptist) is very pro-life and she used to work as labor and delivery nurse. Naomi has said in interviews that when she was working as a nurse she knew that every baby was a miracle of God’s creation and killing one through abortion was beyond comprehension to her. Her other daughter, Wynonna, is pro-life as well. Thanksgiving dinner must be fun at the Judd table.
Ashley is also childless. I wonder if she is one of those “the world is overpopulated” and “I hate breeders” type of liberals.

If you search through my comments over the last year, you’ll find that I warned conservatives many times about this and the fact that if Obama won, conservatives would not win again for 30 years. This sucks… She’s a good actress and one of Hollywood’s hottest, IMO (I dig moderately sized, real boobs). All of these actors are making me either refuse to watch their movies, or feel like crap when I do. Please, people, take Ingraham’s advice – “SHUT UP AND SING (or act)”. You’re destroying my entertainment options.

Meanwhile, conservatives who care, and I truly believe the people here care, get wrapped up in distracting issues like this. The best way to protect your family and help fellow conservatives is to realize that the world has changed. This is not a cycle that will come full circle in most of our lifetimes.

Go along to get along — Ashley’s the one who wanted to make it in Hollywood, not Nashville, and did for a brief time by capitalizing on her mom and sister’s name recognition, which simply makes her the Judd family version of Frank Stallone.
But that can carry you only so far, especially since she’s now on the wrong side of the big 4-0. So naturally, to maintain her hopes of being viable with the liberals who run the film community, she adapts their political beliefs and talking points, in hopes that will help her get back in the spotlight again. It’s just a six-years-after-the-fact version of what the Dixie Chicks Natalie Maines pulled when they were trying to breaks out of the Nashville/Texas country music genre and make names for themselves with the pop moguls and the video media people on the coasts.
