I’m tired of holier-than-thou, pious, arses, from both sides.

Entelechy on January 26, 2009 at 10:37 PM

Libs can & will take everything a conservative says out of context anyway. Tell the truth with a good heart, & let God take care of the results.

jgapinoy on January 26, 2009 at 10:39 PM

I disagree with Bill on this one. In two days, PBHO has already endorsed abortions and called for removing terrorists from Gitmo.

Hey Bill, see if you can manage to spit out a phrase that isn’t dripping with condescension and you might be taken seriously.

Tacitus on January 26, 2009 at 10:43 PM

My gosh.

What is so fracking hard to get here?

Rush doesn’t want Obama to succeed in creating socialized health, in raising taxes, in being an abortion radical, in keeping the borders wide open.

What is so f’ing hard?

Dumb ass conservatives and Republicans.

blatantblue on January 26, 2009 at 10:43 PM

Did any of these people listen to what Rush actually said?

Oh, no. Why bother when MSM will tell you then ask your opinion? :)

Spirit of 1776 on January 26, 2009 at 10:43 PM

It’s a mild, polite rebuke but still it’s a rare occasion when high-profile conservatives go after each other in the media.

Meanwhile, high profile demorats going after each other is rarer than a solid gold dog turd.

Indeed…

Sorry, but I stopped listening to Rush whenever he tried to get people to donate money to buy Rush 24/7 memberships for the troops… FFS… he’s way off his game from years back… considering how little affect he had in the primaries, I doubt Obama is scared… still better than Hannity though…

Laura Ingraham should step up and lead… she should down the 24/7 wall, set up a diary system like kos’s, and focus more on grass roots activism instead of commentary and interviews…

ninjapirate on January 26, 2009 at 10:47 PM

I just wish Mark Levin wasn’t dropped by my local NeoCon warmonger FM station, now I have to catch him on AM and AM in my neck of the woods is crap to try and tune in.

Bishop on January 26, 2009 at 10:50 PM

Dr. Bennett’s problem isn’t so much that he’s a RINO than it is that he’s too much of an insider.

He has a very advanced case of “my friend-itis,” a disease marked by an incurable desire to be liked by the other side. The McCain strain of the disease is fatal, while the more benign Hannity strain merely causes an uncomfortable rash.

Nat Hound on January 26, 2009 at 10:50 PM

Can you picture this? Some liberal pundit getting all over a liberal fanatic that just called George Bush a dirty name or called him a child killer or any other nasty thing you can think of. It would never happen and this is the difference bwtween liberals and conservatives. It’s going to be a long hard four eight years

Herb on January 26, 2009 at 10:50 PM

So this is how William J. Bennett keeps his CNN gig — criticizing conservative friends out of context. Weren’t Rush and Bill buddies before Bennett got his radio show?

Does anyone else ever feel like one of AP’s Pavlovian dogs? Just dangle a Palin-Huckabee-Limbaugh bone and I come running.

As much as I enjoyed the drunken Negro head cookies, here is the laugh o’ the day — KISS shreds (h/t Glenn).

Terrie on January 26, 2009 at 10:50 PM

Too bad Bill Bennett has to talk to Donna Brazille, someone a thousand times more partisan than Rush Limbaugh. She makes the UN look reasonable and together.

chunderroad on January 26, 2009 at 10:50 PM

I want Obama to succeed in his duties as President. I want him to fail in his desires as a partisan. Rush wants the same, I should think.

spmat on January 26, 2009 at 10:51 PM

Another conservative who spends more time on his knees than on message

DwnSouthJukin on January 26, 2009 at 10:53 PM

“The locution ‘I want him to fail’ is not what you say the first week the man’s been inaugurated.”

When are we allowed to say it then, Bill? Obama wasn’t going to wait for week two to herd the mushy Republicans in Congress into his cult. Rush’s timing was perfect. Rush stood up and said something while the kool-aid was being mixed instead of after it was handed out.

Buddahpundit on January 26, 2009 at 10:54 PM

If I said I wanted my uncle’s cancer to fail, would it be rude (to the cancer) if I said it in the first week after he was diagnosed with it? That was Rush’s point. He wants Obama to succeed if he’s here to cure the nation, and fail if he’s here to spread the disease of socialism. The success of America is a lot more important than the success of one man, Barack Obama.

RBMN on January 26, 2009 at 10:55 PM

“The locution ‘I want him to fail’ is not what you say the first week the man’s been inaugurated.”

I’d rather see him impeached and thrown out of office. Or, I’d settle for our SCOTUS getting some guts and hearing the cases about his ineligibility – and then having him thrown out.

Am I allowed to say that in the first week?

By the way, how many really dangerous, cr@ppy policies is he allowed to sign onto in his first week before we are allowed to express the hope that he fails in them?

progressoverpeace on January 26, 2009 at 10:57 PM

His Holiness attacked and has been attacking Rush since the Primaries. Rush has the right to defend himself and his positions. This is STILL America, the Land of the Free, isn’t it….!?

Rush in on over 600 radio stations nationwide and has the highest rated show. Bill’s radio show was aired in Chicago for about 3 months before that station dropped it for two local guys. Being more successful is of course an attack on some one.

Tommy_G on January 26, 2009 at 10:59 PM

“The locution ‘I want him to fail’ is not what you say the first week the man’s been inaugurated.”

Sink me, but Lord Bennett is right. Proper decorum in such matters dictates that Knave Limbaugh wait at least a week.

Non-contextualized arguments in the era of Ogabe is bound to happen; events are occurring so quickly and seemingly so profoundly that hair-trigger reaction has become the rule of the day.

By the time we figure out what Ogabe really means about anything, it may be too late. This Bennett/Rush thing is an offshoot.

Laura in Maryland on January 26, 2009 at 11:47 PM

Sorry Bill, but after this week I agree with Limbaugh. It should come as no surprise, considering the facts of Obama’s moves:

1. Removes the rules that keep states from enacting ridiculous emissions standards that will likely increase the likelyhood of the auto companies will fail, and probably will increase the price of gasoline.

2. The Closing of Camp Gitmo without considering the harm that it will do to the war on Terror. We are already seeing that freed Gitmo detainees are reenlisting with Al Qeada and will surely attack the US again sometime in the near future. Giving these cretins the benefit of US Constitutional rights for the fuzzy feeling it gives you is non-sensical.

3. The proposed stoppage of construction of the US southern border wall. We know the plan, Mr. President, and it is to convert the US into a needy band of third world citizens who vote Democrat, and we don’t like it.

4. The talk about “Nationalizing” the US banking system. Government entanglements are what caused the banking system problems in the first place. Complete Govt. control will mean doom. Oh, and we know that Nationalization is enacting Socialism–do you think we are that stupid?

Bill, you seem like a smart guy. But you seem all too happy fostering the feeling in yourself that you want to give the First African American President a chance. But what you are really doing is giving a Socialist free reign to damage our fine Republic in a way that will be unrepairable. Such feelings are the venue of the Liberals, not the Conservatives.

That is really a very, very good point you have made.
Obama in the first few days signed legislation that aided in the death of millions or more unborn babies. He then signed an executive order that would release into freedom suspected terrorists associated with the killing of 3000 Americans, while pledging massive socialist visions of change for our nation.
Rush uttered the words, “I hope Obama fails, ” in respect to
his policies and plans of socialist change for America.
And we are suppose to be outraged at Rush??

I hope he fails. I don’t want our Country turning into a Socialistic Country. Today Freddie and Fannie asked for more bail out money. Pelosi claims by killing babies and women taking birth control it would be better for our Economy. They are putting some of the stimulus package toward the S chip. Yes the S chip! For god sakes. Now the emissions crap. So many people have older cars. They cannot afford newer cars. Caterpillar announced they are laying off a bunch of people. Government owns a few banks. I could go on but there will be more distractions so we don’t see what really is going on. Two years or four years might be to late. Now he is talking about doing away with the term law. So he could be in power for more then four or eight years. I have never in my life, and I have lived many years and seen many Presidents. This is the worse nightmare joke I have ever seen. I have a bad feeling that the stimulus package will not do what he says it will do. Oh, lets not forget about his National Civilian Security Force. Bigger, and much stronger than the Military. He still hasn’t said what that really means. I sure hope he does fail. And I wish it would be quick. But there are others that need to be kicked out of Office as well. Some should be in jail. Sorry for the rant.
