Name that Party, Oregon edition:

The mayor of Portland, Ore., told city commissioners Sunday he will not resign despite calls for him to do so after he admitted he lied and asked a teenager to lie about their sexual relationship. Mayor Sam Adams publicly apologized this past week for lying early in his campaign about the relationship with an 18-year-old man in 2005.

More AP reporting at its finest. Meh.

That the local media for you! Last night’s tv news identified MA state senator Bruce Tarr as a democrat (he’s a republican). I think there are five or so in the state legislature. Because the dems have a hegemony they will simply redistrict any area where they feel threatened to ensure it’s delivered to a democrat, preferably an incumbent. Ever look at the map of Barney Frank’s district? it makes no geographic sense whatsoever.

There are very few GOP in MA. The congress has been heavily dems for as long as I can remember. When Romney was Gov., everything was blamed on him. Now Patrick blames the cynical listeners of talk radio.

Brudda…..we actually moved from a very liberal Metrowest town westward outside 495 inorder to escape the liberal zombie factories. We did our homework and found a rural community which is part of one of the top regional school districts in the Commonwealth. Both my children did very well and have emerged from the public school system as registered independents. My oldest graduated from the UMass system this past spring and now works at Children’s Hospital and my youngest is in her 2nd year at the University of Miami pulling down a 3.98. The schools do have an influence but we as parents drive the bus!

Then again, the phrase “Corrupt Democrat Politician” is an oxymoron. One cannot be a) a Democrat and b) a Politician without c) being corrupt.

Case in point. Here in the birthplace of public education, you would not believe the number of kids that are now being home schooled. A phenomenon that was absent when I graduated from high school in 1980, children are being pulled out of schools by worried parents at an ever increasing rate here. My wife and I have pulled our two youngest daughters out of the public schools, the youngest just after Christmas. The blatant liberal indoctrination has become insufferable. The influence of the unions upon the schools has long since eclipsed any responsibility of the community to provide education for the benefit of the common good. Something intangible, but nonetheless very real is happening here that I have not experienced before. People are NOT happy with their government(s). I know what I have typed sounds superficial, but I haven’t got all day to describe in detail what is happening.
