Obama: Um, I know some of you are skeptical about spending a trillion dollars

Nearing two trillion, actually…
A trillion here, a trillion there, & pretty soon you’re talking big money.

$50,000 given directly 20 million of the lowest income tax-paying, legal Americans would do more to stimulate the recovery than letting the government that regulated this mess upon us handle its “fix”.

I trust Obama and his minions to manage this money like I trust the Chinese not to steal hundreds of billions of our intellectual property.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?

PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those – one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So no apologies for that?

PELOSI: No apologies. No. we have to deal with the consequences of the downturn in our economy.

Perhaps those who want an alternative to Obama would do well to remember that there are plenty of us here who wanted a China-hostile administration.

Perhaps those who sold our nation to the Third World would do well to come clean and apologize. Those who instituted offshoring and the various loopholes and those such as NASSCOM who lobby against our citizens(acting much like an Enemy of the State) have done too much damage and helped get us where we are now.

I honestly don’t care if you call me some sort of foreigner-hating epithet. Right now, that only tells me what side you’re on and it is not the one that gets our nation back on its feet.

I’m not just skeptical of spending $300 million on contraceptives, I’m downright against it.

It’s like Obama thinks we @#$% our way out of this economic crisis. Everything will be OK as long as we have lots of safe sex.

The bill also contains $275B in taxcuts and $200B in direct disbursements like extended unemployment benefits and $300 checks for everyone on Social Security.

I have little doubt some of the above will also come this year on top of the $26B in spending projects like construction.

It’s just humorous that after all the screaming we’re not spending enough domestically, they construct a bill where they arent spending enough domestically.

So if this bill does anything, it’s because Obama is going to put more money in the hands of Americans.

Which of course is exactly what the Bush tax cuts did… except it was far far cheaper and clearly worked. The quarter after the May 2003 tax cuts “for the rich” was the biggest quarter of growth in 20 years… Over 7%

Am I the only one that thinks about how the higher ups at the RNC are as responsible for this disaster as the dems?

That Washpost article proves the huffpost article correct. It wasn’t an “anonymous” person at the HuffPost. It’s a direct quotefrom Orszag, head of the Congressional Budget Office who said there is no such report on the whole stimulus plan and the timetable. The CBO itself, went on to say that what was leaked to the media was not a report on the timing of full stimulus only a portion of it. But do keep telling yourself whatver you need to believe. Even that the CBO lies about what reports it does.

Well now you’re just lying.

The unnamed aide was from the CBO, part of Congress.

Orszag is Head of the OMB- a Cabinet position.

So clearly they are 2 different people.

The really funny part you evidently missed, Orszag backs up exactly what the supposedly nonexistent CBO report says… only 25% of the spending is accounted for. Only $136B of the $355B will be in next 2 years and then $70B in AMT relief for tax year 2009.

$136B + $70B = $206B, which is almost exactly 25% of $825 billion total.

It means you will be placed in debt for the amount of a full year’s income taxes…..which must be paid back with interest at some time by you or your children.

Are you going to get that kind of value from the Depression Stimulus Bill.

For most people, that would represent 2 to 4 years of mortgage payments.

But instead, what you will get is a permanent recession, and a very generous lining of the pockets of Democratic contributors for make-work nonsense projects that would never be undertaken by private industry….because they are a total waste of money…..your money.

It’s the teleprompter. No really.

Ogabe uses the transparent teleprompter such as those utilized at the conventions; they force you to simultaneously focus on the words being displayed as well as look through the glass at your audience.
