Young Jeezy on Obama’s tax plan: “I’ve got my 50% ready”

From CNS. What did you think Demi Moore meant when she pledged to be a servant to The One? Hopenchange doesn’t just mean paying more taxes; Hopenchange means wanting to pay more taxes.
Besides, Obama helped make this moron rich. Why shouldn’t he give back?

Yeah 50% of the part that isn’t hidden offshore, in trust funds or any of the other loopholes these m****f****ers use to NOT pay their “fair” share. 50% my ***!
Ciannaky on January 23, 2009 at 8:25 PM
Seriously, first, does anyone think this fool fills out his tax forms? Second, can you imagine the write offs? I bet next year there is a big old charge off for donations for appearing at the inauguration.
Cindy Munford on January 23, 2009 at 8:25 PM
He’ll want that back in ten years when he is a washed up has-been, standing in a bread line.
Star20 on January 23, 2009 at 8:26 PM
Celebrities realize they aren’t worth the money they get paid, so they don’t mind “giving” it back. Same thing with all those trust fund liberals.
I, on the other hand, am worth every penny of what I get paid and hate to give up one thin dime to these morons at any level of government.

So that’s like …fiddy pee cent for the rappin accountants.
BL@KBIRD on January 23, 2009 at 8:32 PM
Ah yes, good intentions on the expressway to Hell.
Funny how quick the left is to attack the culture of greed (wall st., business and conservatives) yet is often to feeble to summon the energy to lift a pen to checkbook.
Gore, Kennedy, Pelosi, Clinton, Hollywood, Geitner, Heinz-Kerry, Rangle, Biden et al are so quick to put us on the hook for more of their damn programs for their constituents but somehow manage to pay a lower marginal tax rate on their trust funds than an upper middle income family of 4.
If I recall, Heinz-Kerry paid something like an effective tax rate in the 20% range on $6-7 million around the time he was running.
If spreading the wealth is such a good thing, why are you not at the front of the line?
moxie_neanderthal on January 23, 2009 at 8:33 PM

Exactly. What a bunch of nonsense. He knows he could throw that line out there and never have to be held accountable. Say, for example, his rate doesn’t go up to 50%… do you think he’ll donate enough to charity to make up the difference?
And by the way, why are we supposed to listen to economic philosophy from some former criminals who simply learned how to rhyme words? Oh I’m sorry, this is the man who released such classic albums as “Thuggin’ Under the Influence” and “Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101″. My mistake.

Hey if ALL the liberals love to pay more taxes
I would love to see that..
Unfortunatly their definition of paying a tax really means
The poor slobs actually had to get out of bed and make it themselves since the illegal mexican they hired wass BUSTED by ICE..
Therefore since the government took away their cheap labor
and forced them to make their own beds
Well thats just more taxing than these liberal
BLOWHARDS can STAND..
So they paid their tax..
I want to use the same excuses so i can avoid paying my taxes too..
I just dont want to go to jail.. something liberals never seem to have to do,..

V15J on January 23, 2009 at 10:40 PM
You know, I’ve never understood why the Republicans don’t make this an incessant argument.
All those lefties claimed they didn’t need or want the Bush tax cuts, and then deposited the money in their accounts all the same.
If you think taxes are too low, you are free to pay more yourself.
It is interesting that I’ve never gotten a leftist to explain why they won’t voluntarily do what they claim is the right thing.
18-1 on January 23, 2009 at 10:41 PM
It’s easy to be a socialist if you have the money. This reminds me of that quote from the aviator when Howard Hughes is eating with Katherine Hepburn and her family right after it was mentioned that there are all socialist.
Mother: “We don’t care about money here”
Hughes: “that’s because you have it”
The income tax was designed to ensure the influence of the wealthy was diminished however it appears that it doesn’t work anyway so we might as well repeal it and just institute the fair tax.

The simple fact that this guy is rich is simple proof that capitalism trumps socialism. Even an idiot can make money in a capitalist system but only an idiotic government can make money is a socialist one.

All Republicans should pay the same percentage in federal income taxes as Joe (Dud from Delaware) Biden and The One gave to charity. Dems can pay the same percentage as my contributions to charity against my net income last year.
And how come nobody mentioned Hollywood’s image and public persona game? This ALL B. S.

That’s five times a tithe. What religious devotion to the One!
shick on January 24, 2009 at 8:26 AM
I’d really like to see his individual tax returns and the tax returns for his business entities. Though the gross income for the entities is likely high, the taxable income is likely quite low, because he’s expensing an exorbitant lifestyle as business expenses. I’ll bet he doesn’t give a dime to legitimate charitable organizations.
Even liberals are acknowledging that conservatives are more generous than liberals. Conservatives prefer to choose their own worthy causes rather than turning their money over to the government to make those choices.
Screw this guy.
BuckeyeSam on January 24, 2009 at 8:33 AM
Right. Lip service to the camera then use every loophole at your disposal to not pay your fair share.

Yes, but there were “loopholes” and “write-offs” that effectively cut that rate significantly.
toliver on January 24, 2009 at 10:13 AM
What I think you’re seeing is the beginning of a movement to try and change attitudes about reimposing a 50-60% top marginal rate. (Under Carter, the top marginal rate was 70%, albeit with significantly more deductions available that probably reduced the effective tax rate to more like 50%.) This drumbeat has been building for a few years, with guys like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett saying “I have no problem paying way higher taxes.” Now you’re getting “cool people” saying the same thing.
These are extremely scary times we live in. I fear for this country every day. New Deal I kept the Republicans out of Congress for 60 years – largely by making retirees and union members dependent on the government. New Deal II will make everyone dependent on government for their entire retirement (plans are afoot to nationalize 401(k) plans), health care, and so on. Republicans will be shut out of power forever, and our philosophies will be relegated to the dust bin of history — along with, eventually, our civilization.
Outlander on January 24, 2009 at 10:30 AM
Yeah, Kennedy ran as a tax-cutter. The top bracket was cut to 70%. I believe that the progressive nature of the tax structure was different than it was by 1980. I don’t think the brackets reflected the inflation of the 70s.
The expansion of the 60s was squandered on the War on Poverty (a war we lost in the most undignified manner… yet we’re still trying to fight it using the same strategy).

An agent once told me that even DEAD stars like publicity. If it makes them seem cool, all the better!
This is B. S. on the part of the entertainers. And really strange on the part of The One and His sidekick who couldn’t give 5% of their own money to charity let alone extra contributions to the IRS.
IlikedAUH2O on January 24, 2009 at 11:59 AM
Have you guys seen Cribs on MTV (I know I shouldn’t admit that I’ve watched that before) where rappers, athletes, etc. try to out do each other by having the biggest most expensive homes, cars, jewelry and clothes. The rap industry is all about how much stuff one can amass. I highly doubt he’ll pay 50% of his income to the government. I’m sure he’ll hire the best accountant to get away with paying the least taxes possible. Paying taxes is very pedestrian — only the little people do that, not rich famous rappers.
Callie C. on January 24, 2009 at 12:04 PM
Liberals are all for paying taxes until they have to write the check.
Remind me how much inheritance tax does a Kennedy pay?
jukin on January 24, 2009 at 12:17 PM
Reminds me of when Huckabee came up with that “tax me more” fund, where folks could voluntarily tax themselves and send it to the fund. He was tire of hearing people say that they were not taxed enough. It didn’t generate much money. Subsequent “tax me more” provisions in other states have met with the same limited “success”.
You want to pay your 50%? Cough it up, slick.
