Video: No stimulus money for white males

Wasn’t this supposed the era of post-racialism? Robert Reich apparently didn’t get that message. In his appearance before Congress on structuring the stimulus plan on January 7th, Reich suggested that the package discriminate against white male workers:
I am concerned, as I’m sure many of you are, that these jobs not simply go to high-skilled people who are already professionals or to white male construction workers. … I have nothing against white male construction workers. I’m just saying that there are a lot of other people who have needs as well. … Criteria can be set so that the money does go to others, the long term unemployed minorities, women, people who are not necessarily construction workers or high-skilled professionals.
Basically, Reich wants Congress to create some means testing that doesn’t explicitly keep stimulus funds from paying the salaries of white males. He suggests that the lawmakers create “criteria” that will have that effect in practice without being crass enough to say, No Whites Need Apply. Congress has done this in milder form for the last few decades by mandating set-asides for women- and minority-owned businesses in government contracts, but even those don’t require the businesses to refuse to hire white male construction workers.
This sounds a lot more like a paternalistic welfare program than a real effort to improve American infrastructure. We’re building roads and bridges for all Americans, using tax money from all Americans. Everyone should have equal access to the jobs created by this stimulus plan. What Reich proposes is flat-out official racism by government, refusing to hire people on the basis of their skin color. Didn’t our last election demonstrate a rejection of that kind of thinking? And note that Reich offers the racist rationalization that he doesn’t have anything against white male construction workers. Maybe some of his best friends are white male construction workers, too.

Of course money isn’t going to white males. Where do you think it’s coming from!

Keep the money away from leprechans and little people too!

HMMMMMMMMMMMM
I’m an old retired white male construction worker. It eas the sweat off my balls that already paid for these low life non workers.
Hows about paying the people on SS that built this great country with their backs for little wages. Screw these polititions like Rangle the tax cheat.

Anna, amazing was mine (and not a good amazing, either.) Then terrifying, and then disgusting.
StephC on January 22, 2009 at 9:05 AM
You mean there are still white people in construction? Most places I see, either road or building construction, are mostly hispanic workers. Is this Reich’s way of upping the Magnet force to suck more illegals up across the border?
This is so offensive in so many ways. Republicans, go find your gonads for pete’s sake, literally!!!

If the American people had any sense they’d gather en masse in Washington and throw the entire Congress out on their asses and start anew.
Of course, generations of liberal indoctrination and media influence has destroyed what sense we may have had.

Well, like the preacher said – white gotta do what’s right. And that starts (day 1!) with being victimized by explicit racism, evidently.

Maybe one of the most depressing videos I have seen…just because I recognize this a a foretelling of what is coming.
This is just the beginning, these ideas are just being formulated, the implementation and expansion hasn’t even begun yet…the middle class is screwed.
We will have at the end of these eight years…the very wealthy, and the very poor…the only difference between us and Mexico will be…………..

Gee, as a white male (non-construction) worker, does this mean then that I don’t have to pay my taxes (like Rangel & Geithner) to pay for this boondoggle?

What?
You’ve got to be kidding!
So,the Liberal Democratic Party, not only are

I think here they call it a “march on Washington.” It’s been done for decades by minorities to intimidate lawmakers. Now that the minorities have formed a coalition are are the new majority, white males and their supporters need to take similar actions.
How about a day without whites? Gandhi did it and it shook the British. How about a week without white males, or two?

I believe I heard Reich say that construction money need not necessarily go to people with any construction experience. I already asked my wife this morning to form a construction company and bid on contracts as a minority. If we get any, I will secretly hire white workers. How can we get phony SS#’s?

Yeah, pay other people, not construction workers, how is this ‘infrastructure’ going to get built?. Sounds like my home city where the city council decided that anyone wanting to do business with the city had to provide health insurance for all their employees, then whined when costs to the city went up and the competitive bid process turned up only one or two companies willing to play. Wait a minute:
Maybe We Are In North Korea….
My brother made a joke on his Facebook page the other day while watching the Inauguration that it felt to him like he was watching videos of North Korea. I chuckled a little bit at it, but then yesterday, as I am driving home listening to the Sports Reporters with Steve Czaban and Andy Pollin on ESPN 980 out of DC, I hear them advertise a college basketball game that will be on one of their sister stations later in the night and the name of the station is OBAMA 1260. At first I thought I must have heard something wrong, but then they repeated it a second time and sure enough, they were advertising a station called OBAMA 1260.

Citi will back down. IMO, they don’t give a rat’s ass anymore if they get paid back. They (like most US banks) are completely insolvent, and only exist because of taxpayer handouts. It is completely irrelevant to their near-term futures if people re-pay their car loans. It’s a sinking ship, and people there only care about their jobs surviving, not if the bank is profitable or not. To a certain extent, the lady is right. Because of Obama and the politics of racial transfer payments, she prob.won’t have to pay what she owes. The bank is intimidated.
JiangxiDad on January 22, 2009 at 9:24 AM

Even more disturbing, he seems to be in favor of intentionally requiring roads and bridges to be built by people who do not know what tehy are doing. Speaking of infrastructure, one must assume that when he speaks of “professionals” he means engineers. This is geting to be some serious stuff. My grandchildren will be driving on those bridges.

No this last election was all about race. That was the only criterion. It was about a black man who was going to give preferential treatment to non-white citizens to make everything ‘fair’.
Preferential treatment in home loans a la ACORN, preferential hiring practices a la affirmative action, preferential enrollment in university/college, preferential pay for ‘equal work’.
It was all about race, it was all about government ordered discrimination against white males and government preference to non-whites. That is what The Obama has been telling us for months, it is what his campaign was all about, that is what Reich is telling us now.
Skandia Recluse on January 22, 2009 at 9:32 AM
Joe the Plumber is/was a white construction worker.
They just can’t leave that alone now.
Bishop on January 22, 2009 at 9:34 AM
Hmmmmm, maybe all the crazy black people who think they are going to get special privileges under Obama aren’t so crazy after all. Reparations in a thin disguise.
As the wife of a white highly skilled professional and the daughter of white male construction worker, I am thoroughly disgusted. Yesterday I found out our taxes were going to pay for foreign abortions and today I’m supposed to accept this. I find it hard to believe that white guilt is so prevalent that the white majority in the country is just going to roll over and take this. White males are to be taxed but they are to be discriminated against when it comes to the redistribution of those taxes. Instead it is going the people who don’t pay taxes in the first place.
It’s only the second day!!! WHERE ARE THE CONSERVATIVES?!! When will they find their spines?

A lot of people are pretending that they don’t know this simple, obvious fact. It was interesting watching all the inaugural coverage, a huge party for a retard without an ounce of experience, and everyone danced around the fact that it was all about skin color. Period.

Democrats have always been the real racist, now they are in charge. Democrats love to foment racism, its their bread and butter, they thrive on it. They want to create as much division and hatred between the races and the population generally as possible, this plan by socialist Robert Reich would go a long way toward that goal.
Get all the people at each others throats and then the government is free to do whatever it want during all the confusion and infighting. Its classic socialistic strategy.
I just laugh, this is all so much, exactly what I expected from them.

My reaction to the Reich video was: it is insulting to minorities and women. Reich thinks (like most Democrats) that minorities don’t have skills that would be employable. In other words, he thinks ALL minorities are inner-city multi-generation welfare cases. That’s the only thing that explains his “white male construction workers” comment.
Meanwhile, out here in the real world, most construction sites are heavily Hispanic. I guess Reich never noticed them during his morning commute.
