Exactly how I feel about it. Making abortion illegal only drives it underground. Drugs are illegal and they are far from rare, nevermind non-existant. Unfortunately, as long as the Republican Party insists on this as a plank in the platform, it’ll cost politically all day long. People do not like being told they are sinning. Religious beliefs are far too personal. I would find any further laws prohibiting abortion as bad as any other “social engineering” that’s committed on the left, Johnson’s “Great Society” or Wilson’s Fascism being two examples. I believe let everyone do as they will of their freewill, and let them pay for it…..

Seems some people are more obsessed with abortion than…everyone else.

I suspect some people, like Ed, would like to see abortion outlawed. Unfortunately that would not end abortion, it would drive it underground and create misery as it has in every other country where it is banned. The abortions still happen, they’re just far more dangerous.

This needs to be done by a coalition of people of colors, every color but one. Nobody cares that a lot of caucasians oppose abortion; we’re out of fashion.
Making abortion acceptable, and even desireable, was a white sin, foisted first on western nations against the will of the majority. Then it was packaged as a civil right and brought complete with funding to the third world, which was the real target all along.
Legalized abortion was born of racism, and it will be over only when enough Blacks, Asians and Hispanics tell the diversity loving left what they really think of it.

-Abstence education;

-Faith-based initiatives;

-Tax breaks for churches; and

-Payments to Catholic hospitals for services considering the Catholic hierarcy (up to Rome, most likely) and Catholic priests have themselves molested and then not reported 100s of times more cases of statutory rapes and child abuse than the non-reporting PP is accused of.

I’m also curious why they waited until the Democrats have the majority, but I’ll still take it.

Yeah, you always wonder about why now, why not do it when there was a chance of getting it through and signed. I’m guessing it has to do with higher priorities on other issues. Now that the Dems control Congress and POTUS, there isn’t much that the Republicans can do other than symbolic stuff like this.

Will we get more expositions of Catholic theology on abortion from Bishop Pelosi and Cardinal Biden?

Personally, I really hope we do. I want them to be loud and clear in their heresy so that the real Bishops and Cardinals are forced into finally doing what they should have done ages ago.

However, a CBN News report indicates Obama will not overturn the policy on a day that pro-life advocates mourn the Supreme Court allowing virtually unlimited abortions.

It’s a curious measure to suddenly show centrism on…

The Mexico City Policy prevents sending public funds to groups that perform or promote abortions in other countries.

Obama was expected to overturn the pro-life policy on his first or second full days in office and to possibly do so today, on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision.

I’d consider it a small government policy. Not a pro-life policy.
