You know, the NYT used to have a slogan (little remembered) “We don’t make the news, we print it.” But at a certain point they had to contract out the publishing of the paper, and so their slogan changed to “We don’t print the news, we make it.” /kidding

Ahh the Grey Lady. Once a paragon of excellence, now it’s (to paraphrase Roxy Roller), “Down between the seats she’s got bubblegum on her knees.”

Now the “news cycle” had become a “circle jerk.”

Reminds me of a story I read about Barry during the primaries, about how he’d taken audio tapes of “Reverend” Wright’s sermons with him to law school so he could listen to them and learn to mimic his speaking style.

Barry is the ultimate triumph of style over substance. A guy who deliberately packaged and marketed himself to appeal to the idiots among us. Unfortunately, the idiots far outnumber the rest of us, and they now have their idol in the White House.

As for the Obama party, the NYSlimes staffer who is shocked and dismayed must have been living in a dunghill for the past twenty odd years. Also curious is the fact that the Slimes is merchandising Obama products. Does Obama or the taxpayer get a piece of that action, if not, why not? Isn’t that part of the sacrifice that the Slimes’ President is calling for?

Under terms of a deal announced late Monday night, the Mexican telecom magnate has lent the Times $250 million via senior unsecured notes that pay out at 14 percent annual interest. He also gets warrants on 16 million shares of Times “A” stock

Slim already owns 6.9 percent of the company’s A shares, and the warrants will let him buy another 10 percent. But the Sulzberger family will retain control of the company via its ownership of its “B” class stock.

The Times will use the money to refinance some of its $1.1 billion in debt, including a $400 million revolver that expires in May.

But the cash won’t solve the company’s core problem: Its ads are disappearing, and it has yet to cut cost costs to reflect that reality. And now its costs just increased–it will have to pay Slim $35 million a year in interest.

Brutal. But so are the Times’s prospects.

Doesn’t explain why he did it. Perhaps he’s throwing good money after bad. Perhaps he knows it’s only a matter of time before the Sulzbergers have to cry uncle, and he wants to be the one to take over ownership and control. The name alone is worth quite a bit I would think.

As much as I hate to say it, this country really needs to go through a severe depression.

This may sound harsh, but look on the bright side. Think of all of these simpering LibTard bastards actually having to deal with an honest to God life or death crisis. Not the ‘OMG!! I can’t afford my $7 coffee this morning’ crisis. I think an ‘Damn, I’m not going to be able to eat anything this week unless I can do something useful’ type thing.

I don’t know if you can actually die from just laying down and peeing all over yourself, but I’m really keen to see if it can happen.

You’re underestimating the Power of the Fourth Estate.

During the ’30′s and into the ’40′s, through 12 years of the deep economic calamity and hardship, Democrats were able to hang onto power by convincing the masses, they were being done a favor, and that all their troubles were caused by the “evil republicans.”

There are Senior Citizens, to this very day, who will swear, FDR was an economic genius… Nevermind, the reality of high rates of unemployment, and poverty.

It won’t matter how bad it gets, if the Fourth Estate chooses to put a Happy-Face on the situation… Any little small success will be put Front and Center, and the failures will be on the back page.

Perception is the name of the game.

As much as I would like to see the NYT roll over like a dead cockroach, it won’t. There are just too many RICH liberals that couldn’t live without the daily dose of affirming propaganda from the Times to let that happen. They need tangible reassurance that their mantra is still being sung

If those “rich liberals” have not stepped up by now to save this rag (and a host of others) it ain’t gonna happen. It’s typical liberal crap, they preach how important something is and how it must be preserved but they never pull a dime out of their own personal pocket. They’ll be backing a taxpayer bailout, but the rich liberals aren’t stupid, they want to keep their own money, not invest in a dying business model.

Obama Snubs Medal of Honor Ball

Another milestone for our new President: he’s the first President in 56 years to snub the American Legion’s “Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball.”

The American Legion sponsors the ball, which recognizes recipients of Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military award. It started in 1953 for President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s first inauguration.

Event co-sponsors include 13 other veterans service organizations, among them the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Paralyzed Veterans of America

The guy who did the graphic of the red & blue Obama is getting a lot of cred for helping to get the guy elected. The guy who did the design for the Obama campaign (see: beautiful rip-off of Cuyahoga County Electoral board ‘wavy red and white fields with a blue sky’ scenic graphic) is going to go down in designer history as being “the One” who designed IT.

SO, that’s all this is: The NYT designers, trying to get some love from ‘proud papa democratic leadership’ for their design.

You can bet your foot this graphic has been emailed more than actually admired, and used before a single thought was given to it from within an echo chamber the size of the New, York, TIMES.

The NEW building, that broke them. Not the old one that they ran their very SELVES out of.
