I still don't think Romney would have made the same splash as Palin. She performed like the star she is when it counted... Dayton, the convention, the debate and her appearance on SNL.

Now I was never a Romney fan, but I think he would have been a far better candidate than McCain, barring the lunatic Evangelical boycott of the guy.

Sarah was the BEST VP pick at that time. McCain chose correctly. The housing bubble burst later in Sept. In hindsight IF McCain was faced ALREADY with the crumbling economy, YES he would have picked Romney and it would have been the correct pick. Then, we could have brought up Sarah later rather than early as we did.

There is a lot I like about Palin but I’m telling you guys she can’t get elected POTUS. Find someone else or hand Slick Barry Term 2 on a silver platter.

Relax. There is plenty of time til things heat up for 2012. I love Sarah, but she will have to prove herself more as a national candidate and beat out the competition and help 2010 candidates for Congress.

She seems to be doing everything right since the election loss.

She's already started to show us that she is pro-environment which I already knew but some are figuring out for the first time. She's just not pro-environment at the expense of humanity.

Sarah was the Joan of Arc and McCain was the pussy Dauphin.

Sarah fought like Joan fighting for France, loyal to the end and to the Dauphin. Heck, she wasn't part of royalty and the higher ups saw her as a threat.

The similarities (at least the political ones) are eerily similar.

Strong inspirational leader who the grassroots and troops follow who serves the weaker man, but who is her superior on paper.

McCain was and is VERY jealous of the attention Sarah got during the campaign.

Also, McCain has a problem with women to some extent. He has a history of being a terrible womanizer. These characteristics probably were nipping at the brain.

My prediction based on everything I've seen:

Sarah privately grew frustrated at what she thought was a mismanaged campaign and let McCain know that he needed to FIGHT. Sarah is very competitive and does not like to lose. She is not the Cuda for nothing.

McCain probably resents being in effect lectured to by Sarah that he was not trying hard enough to win.

Frankly, with what is at stake, she was right to privately criticise him and try to get John to man-up and truly fight with all cylinders firing up.

Meghan rightfully is loyal to her Dad, and probably was one of the people favoring picking Sarah despite her and Sarah having nothing in common.

Sarah probably thinks McCain lost due to his failure to cut loose and fight.

As the arbiter of all comments legitimate, you might note that the primary subject of this thread is Meghan McCain.

Well, then, tell McCain's chubby daughter to flash her boobs at you. Hell, write the President a letter.

I apologize If I was unclear in my previous reply.

Your apology means spit to me, as does your estimation of my character. You're a loser troll, and nobody cares what you think.

Aside from that, I am amused that you would not only squelch my words, but actually dictate them for me.

I cut and pasted your earlier comment. The further away I am from the inside of your head, the better I'll sleep.

I am lowly and unworthy of your further consideration.

Don't start, and there wouldn't be. Just shut up and leave.

McCain got cash from me only because he brought Palin in... As soon as she was finished speaking at the convention I made a contribution online. I wanted no doubt as to why I donated. Is Sarah perfect? I hope not. We already have One of those.
-
Is she awesome? Absolutely! 2012 should be hers in a walk. Obie is about to piss off tons of people who drank the cool-aid... (sic) and didn't believe the truth about this want-to-be dictator.
-
PS... Who really cares what the McCains say or think about Sarah now anyway? His campaign was only worth paying attention to after Palin joined.

Unbelievable.

She didn’t offer a comment, and therefore she damns Sarah Palin.

You people are worse than the liberals who believed that Bush lied about Iraq. They are expected to be mindless moonbats. But not you. You are supposed to know better than this, you’re not supposed to believe someone is guilty until proven innocent like is their standard operating procedure.

If you do this even to McCain’s daughter, then who else will you do this to. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

wise_man on January 23, 2009 at 11:42 AM

I guess you are unfamiliar with the phrase "damning with faint praise?" Actually I expect the daughter of a career politician to be better versed in how to say nice things she might not believe rather than "no comment" something and leave it open for people to think the worst.

You should be ashamed of thinking this young woman is so stupid/naive that she doesn't know how to play the political game.

Reminds me of Dad– “I will make them famous”– when talking about earmarks, earmarks, earmarks… then votes for the bailout bill festooned with earmarks without saying a word. Consistency and logic has never been a McCain strength. Putting self first is.

Pasalubong on January 22, 2009 at 2:13 PM

Yes, and of course now that he isn't running any more, he votes against the release of the second half of the bailout after having voted for all of the bailout.

Go figure.

Why don’t you drop dead and then we’ll find out.

You want me to drop dead, all because I don't like John McCain, and point out his liberal tendencies, even though I voted for him. I hope whatever makes you like this gets solved one day.

Though you will never have the pleasure of making my acquaintance, let me assure you I am neither meek nor shy. My voice is the same online and irl. Again… Unless you have a legitimate complaint about Gov. Palin, one that has nothing to do with how well you think she’ll perform in a primary that is three years (prep begins eight months from now) away, then stuff it.

Goodnight, sirrah. LOL.

As the arbiter of all comments legitimate, you might note that the primary subject of this thread is Meghan McCain.

I apologize If I was unclear in my previous reply. You are not shy or meek. You are a pussy.

Aside from that, I am amused that you would not only squelch my words, but actually dictate them for me. I guess I should be appreciative of having someone so into to me that they would take my place.

I am lowly and unworthy of your further consideration. Don't sully yourself by mucking it up with the likes of me. I suck, you rule.

Thanks Easter Bunny!

How many people who have been governor for less than a year were being touted as legit. VP contenders? How about the Obama-Jindal comparisons - why do you think that that is happening? Jindal is being touted because his image is so different from the staid image of the Republican party. The same way that Palin gets a boost for being a woman and a mom with a baby.

Nixon was Senator for 2 years before becoming VP. He did serve in the House prior to that. Some would argue that Palin's executive experience puts her far ahead of the country-clubbers in the Senate and perpetual campaigners in the House.

Is it my imagination or are most of the Palin bashers/McLame supporters here liberal trolls?

Less than 3 months posthence the last Republican ticket has divided the party. That is not good.

You highlight the problem with putting forth a ticket with minimal cohesion. Palin was stained by her romp with McCain. McCain had nothing to lose. Palin did muscle her way into the national spotlight. But the resulting infighting does not bode well for her next time around.

Good for you. Although your statement might be highly offensive to some. Stop and consider. ;)

After deep and lascivious consideration I feel that I must apologize. To those whom I have offended, please feel free to flash me your breasts.

Well, when you wish that I die, I would expect that.

Or is that another "lie about you"?

You people are worse than the liberals who believed that Bush lied about Iraq.

Hmmm...and defending McCain's position on Gitmo, which is the same as Obama's.

Hmmm...
