This is a great ad, it defuses the asinine argument that an individual's future is determined at birth. As a pro-life agnostic, I would like to see the pro-life movement start using science instead of religion to argue for life. All scientific evidence you look at tells you it's a human being who should be endowed by it's creator with the right to life. It might go a long way to convincing secularists who don't need a God to tell them it's a human being because science does a good enough job of that.

At 11:00am this morning, the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, President Barack Obama is signing an Executive Order which restores Federal funding to be sent worldwide for the purpose of building and operating facilities to perform abortions.

The signing is to coincide with the arrival on the Washington Mall of an estimated 300,000 members of Pro-Life organizations who will respectfully request Obama to change his mind.

So the number of true American Catholics (”in a state of grace”) is probably around 114.

mankai

Why do you so conveniently forget the whole concept of "redemption". Christians (that does include Catholics whether you think so or not) never claim to be perfect, just forgiven. I read it in a book somewhere and decided to take it on faith. BTW, even excommunicated Catholics can be redeemed; it just isn't automatic.
One other point...Even in Catholic school in the 60's nobody ever told me that heaven was reserved for Catholics. We do have our own gated community, however.

Isn't this an argument for abortion?

Seriously, though, considering the demographic of those who avail themselves of abortion services, for every aborted future president, there are 250 future gangbangers. For every aborted future doctor, there are 75 future violent felons. For every aborted future taxpayer, there are three future net tax consumers. The argument against abortion, if there is one, must be made on a religious or ethical basis - something personal - not on a cost/benefit basis to society.

The mention of "African-American" is genius because, while it makes the excellent point (mentioned above) that a far higher percentage of African-American babies are aborted than babies of any other race, the precedent it refers to is something liberals can't ignore. After all, that's all their support of Obama has been about.

In other words, imagine the ad if it had read simply, "He will becomes the President of the United States." Whoopee.

It would have worked equally well had Hillary won: "She will become... the first woman President of the United States."

Well, as one of the 38, I will fully admit that when the statistics are given about "Catholic" voters, you can safely cut the number in half to determine the actual number that are faithful Catholics. That said, the failings of individuals don't change the truths that are held by, (and revealed in the teaching of) the Church. Even if only 38 try to hold true to them, the Church still stands on them and they remain true.

Jaibones - that ad you linked to put in my head(when I saw it during the campaign) the idea that I might want to be a Catholic.
Now I do have wet eyes.

Ain't it? Yeah, well, let it go. There are about 38 Catholics that think like the guys who made that video. The rest are pro-abortion Democrats. It's fun for a few minutes, and then you realize it's just a fantasy.

My daughter's a Protestant at Notre Dame, and the place was full of Obama posters all fall, and The Vagina Monologues pays a visit every year, on campus. Catholics are just as hypocritical and flawed as the rest of us.

Still a great video.

The real irony is here!...

How ironic that Obama’s position on abortion would likely have resulted in his existence being extinguished before birth.

How many of our fellow Americans, the REAL liberals, better yet the REALLY liberal blacks could sit down and tell you they support abotion...if...if...(tears welling up in eyes) Barack's mother believed the same thing Barack does and was able to exercise that CHOICE...How rude you say, I say how rude of you to object, you narrow minded bigotted liberal. That just goes to show you that NOTHING, I MEAN NOOO part of LIBERALISM has any principle involved in it at all.

She may have been using contraception or condoms, but those are not perfect.

Personal Responsibility. You make a baby, you have the baby, if you don't want it then, give it up for adoption.

She may have gotten drunk one night and didn’t use protection. Should her life have to be radically altered?

If she chooses abortion, she radically alters her life. She becomes a murderer.

It’s none of our damn business when women choose to become mothers.

Of course it is. As much as it's our business if the kids at school have their measles shots or if the teacher in the classroom is a pedophile. Don't pull that nonsense.

And unless as a society we’re willing to start anteing up some welfare payments to pay for childcare we don’t have the right to tell women they can’t choose an abortion. Period.

What planet are you on? We ARE anteing up welfare for childcare. As far as telling women they can't choose an abortion, we tell murderers they can't murder all the time. We tell people not to steal, to embezzle, etc... Why can't we tell women (or men for that matter) to take some personal responsibility and live with the choices they've made?

Exit quotation: “President Obama … has been a consistent champion of reproductive choice and will make preserving women’s rights under Roe v. Wade a priority in his Adminstration.”

Food For Thought (pun intended):

Cronus was the ruling Titan who came to power by castrating his Father Uranus. His wife was Rhea. Their offspring were the first of the Olympians. To insure his safety Cronus ate each of the children as they were born. This worked until Rhea, unhappy at the loss of her children, tricked Cronus into swallowing a rock, instead of Zeus. When he grew up Zeus would revolt against Cronus and the other Titans, defeat them, and banish them to Tartarus in the underworld.

Cronus managed to escape to Italy, where he ruled as Saturn. The period of his rule was said to be a golden age on earth, honored by the Saturnalia feast.

DeathToMediaHacks
Actually it's the baby's life-not hers.
I'm sorry if a womam's life s troubled.
If she doesn't want the baby/can't handle the baby then there's always adoption.
She DOES NOT have the right to take the life of a pre-born child because that life is NOT her's to take!
