It begins. I long ago predicted that many people of a particular persuasion* would feel empowered to live above the system because Obama is the president. They will be bolder and bolder.
*I tried my hardest to use phrasing so as not to be branded racist, but I just really don’t care anymore.

Movie star Susan Sarandon compared President Obama to Jesus.
Huh? I thought libs didn’t like that Jesus guy? His followers torture people, have inquisitions, kill indians, etc.
Broadway and film actor Alan Cumming thought of him more like Mahatma Gandhi.
Well at least that makes a little bit more sense.

“Universal suffrage without any sensible requirement”, meet “the dumbest people on Earth”. Civilization will buckle under this strain, without any doubt. If anyone thought that little credit crisis back in October was scary, you haven’t seen anything yet.

Maybe if they knew, I don’t know, anything about Jesus, they would not make this comparison. Jesus Christ is God Almighty, the Creator, who gives peace, love, and forgiveness of all our sins, if we but believe in Him. BO can not hold a candle to this. He is but a man. I only wish our country could grasp this concept.

I really hope the GOP is tracking and saving all these comments hyping Obama to irrational heights, because in 4 years when he fails to meet the ridiculous hype generated by his cult followers it’s going to make for some GREAT political ads. Remember how effective those Obama celebrity ads were in the summer? Now just imagine ads with celebrities comparing Obama to Gandhi and Jesus. Don’t let Obama’s administration lower expectations. Keep encouraging his followers to increase the hype.

Got called on the carpet this evening at work. A co-worker wanted to talk about how “Obama will end all wars”. I told her I didn’t find any unicorns or rainbows in my backyard yesterday and I seriously doubt that Obama can end any war let alone all wars. Fifteen minutes later my overlord called me into his office.
I’m now the office racist. Official member of the Society of Unicorn Apartheid. I’ve been informed to keep my opinions to myself.

This is Obama’s biggest problem. These Democratic politicians, for whatever reason, refuse to take these people to task. I guess it’s because they lord over a constituency one way or another. “Reverend” Lowery comes to mind; he apparently has a lot of dumbass followers at his church in Atlanta (or wherever the hell it is). This is why I will NEVER vote for a Democrat. As a centrist, I am disgusted by what they have to say. They are the biggest bunch of immature losers I have ever seen. They have no class. There are very few Democrats left with any kind of class or dignity such as Joe Lieberman, Ed Koch, and well, I can’t think of any more of them actually.
They claim to unite us, but yet look at what they did to Joe Lieberman for supporting John McCain. Look at what the idiot Obama supporters did to Bush, Cheney, and John Roberts. I guess they’re just practicing what the likes of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have done. Whatever you think of Barack Obama, at least he has some semblance of class and pinache (spelling?)
NathanG on January 22, 2009 at 1:14 AM
Nope. I was singled out as causing ‘friction’ just because I don’t believe that Obama can end all wars and don’t believe he can deliver unicorns and rainbows to your backyard. I was told it was “unsensitive” to people of “heritage”.
I’m no lawyer chaser. If I decide to do something about it it will be the good old fashioned way, with my feet.

They declare that we are to be regarded as racists, and held in aversion and contempt, such as do not shout with the Obama is the Messiah crowd, and so here in our democracy we are cheering a thing which of all things is most foreign to it and out of place, the delivery of our political conscience into the tyrant’s keeping. This is the Hitler and Stalin plan.

Lim: I believe the safest route is now to greet your fellow workers with a new-and-improved version of the ancient “Sursum corda,” from the Catholic liturgy, which will help convince them you’ve seen the light:
* You: Obama be with you.
* Them: And also with you.
* You: Lift up your hearts.
* Them: We lift them up to the Lordbama.
* You: Let us give thanks to Obama, our man-god.
* Them: It is right to give Him thanks and praise.
You may then genuflect with the “O” hand sign and be seated at your desk, safe for the day. To further deflect suspicion, occasionally swear by using Obama’s name in vain. “Oh, holy Bama!” is good when you slam your hand in a drawer to keep from laughing.
slknoerr on January 22, 2009 at 5:42 AM
Celebrities love Obama. Media love celebrities and Obama. Expect four years of fawning press coverage, coverups, whitewash, outright lies and obfuscations. Integrity? We don’t need no stinkin integrity! We gave that up under Clinton, and when we found there was no price to be paid for it, we just kept sliding down the sh*tpile, amazed that none of it was sticking to us.
For now, it seems they are right.

And yes your co-worker probably should have been counseled about this. However, your reaction sounded a little over the top and that is why you likely ended up on the carpet.

I’m going to send the Reich video to Kudlow. Hopefully he will be called out on it here and there. Kudlow writes at NRO too so maybe they can get involved. Great catch.

I continue to be staggered by the delusional spell these people are under. Seeing them at this sky high of elation is going to make their pitiful low of disappointment that much more amazing to watch as this economic mess unfolds before their very eyes in the form of their paychecks and checkbook. Such euphoria can only be followed by a severe depression once many (or most) of their expectations have failed to be met. I’m afraid the ladies who think that they’re not going to have to worry about paying for gas or their mortgage or their car are in for a sizable shock of reality.
