A bold faced lie!

I’ve seen Jackson sweat up a storm. When Jesse had that problem with the missing Rainbow funds, the girlfriend and the child ….you know there was a lot of sweating involved, before during and after. Before Sharpton lost all that weight, he used to sweat like crazy! When the tawana brawley case came unglued, you know DJ Al’s track suit was probably soaking wet with sweat.

Don’t even get me started about J. Wright. The camera doesn’t even need to zoom in to see he’s working up a sweat when he’s talking about the collective sins of whitey.

The fact is, there’s a lot of sweat flying around with these guys. I think it is communicable too, because a couple of times father flager looked like he was close to breaking out into a lather.

We already have a day of contrition, tax day. So confess your sins, get grip and get some glasses. But at the very least and most importantly, stroke the check and you will incrementally be absolved.

Fighting racism is one of the best paying jobs in town…

I agree it was racist and offensive. It’s just that the dude is 87. We have a close friend [more like a grandpa] who is turning 97 and he’s just like that, set in his ways and mindset. It happens. There are bigger things to get upset over. Keep a little perspective here.

Look, Ive been putting up with this sort of BS for decades. You want me to “Keep a Little Perspective”? Are you kidding me? I have a very keen perspective of what these people are doing and are all about. It’s time the old man sat down and shut up.

Obviously the layoffs and resulting unemployment would disproportionately impact urban areas and minorities with minimal education and skill sets. How can we turn our back in this industry in their hour of need? Continued massive retraining and subsidies are needed. Racism must be protected!

I wonder if TARP can be expanded….

Meh. He’s 87 and was a legitimate part of MLK’s legacy and fight. He gets a pass.

I am seriously sick and tired of everyone not being able to comprehend what ‘racist’ means.

Racist = Hate someone based solely on their skin color.

No more, no less. What the former hell-bound ‘Rev.’ said was not racist, it was prejudicial to the extreme. He basically said that all white people are racist.

Many white people were called racist this year (including my daughter) because she didn’t want to vote for Obama. I think Lowery IS a racist, based on his prejudicial(is that correct grammar?) comments. Its amazing how conservatives always get their spelling and grammar corrected. I think its because the Liberal argument is weak, and its a good way to draw your attention away from the point and make the reader think they are more intelligent, and therefore, correct. BTW- Zenodaddy, I’m not referring to you personally here, I know you weren’t doing that here, it was just an opportunity for me to say what I thought on this topic.

what “leftist nanny-state policy” did President Clinton have that kept blacks “enslaved”? welfare reform? increased financial aid? why did the black poverty rate get worse under the GOP congress and president from 2000-06 after improving so much under Clinton?

There’s the policies and then there’s the cultural ideology. It’s definitely true that whites are split when it comes to things like work ethic, capitalism, social good, patient climbing of hierarchies and many other things that encourage either dependency or an instant gratification mentality, which also encourages dependency because the easiest legal way to get something you can’t afford is to have the government tax someone and give it to you. The message from leftists is that the white people who support all that capitalism, achievement stuff don’t like black people, so why emulate them? Even when blacks are taught to support achievement (e.g., Jesse Jackson’s “I am somebody” stuff), it’s usually in the context of their identity as blacks, not achievement in an abstract sort of way, which is how I was taught to think about achievement. I was taught to compete and strive to achieve relative to everyone who’s ever existed (yes, that’s lofty for any given individual but it doesn’t invalidate the concept), not achieve relative to blacks in America or Africa. Maybe that was more something unique to my upbringing, but if it isn’t, it would be a significant difference between whites and blacks and would be perpetuated, at least in part, by leftist programs like affirmative action and allowing things like Ebonics into the school curriculum. Basing your life on identity is pretty pathetic because you turn yourself into a cog in a wheel. We call white people who did that “Nazis” and “Fascists” (and not metaphorically, either, those were the names of political movements that actually believed these things, only applied to whites).

2000 was the top of a very big technological bubble and even the most marginal worker was pulled into the workforce by the opportunities. As it collapsed, the marginal workers were most likely to be let go and that hits blacks harder, as did the continual loss of manufacturing jobs in those years.
