Bush in Texas: “I’m coming home with my head held high”
posted at 9:17 pm on January 20, 2009 by Allahpundit
A brave face on a tough day. The passion with which he emphasizes the words “50 million” speaks for itself; as for his claim to have tackled the tough issues instead of passing them on to other presidents, that’s true in some cases and … not so true in others.
If you want to say thanks, here’s your chance.

Ah yes, the trolls come out to trash Bush again…what are they going to do to occupy their time the next four years…
You gotta just sit back and laugh…At least they are still safe and able to trash away all they want. Gee, I wonder why that is? It must really twist the soul into knots trashing those you keep you safe…oh, I forgot…no souls.

Andrew Sullivan is already gloating over the coming prosecutions, noting that Bush did not pardon anyone associated with torture.
I hope President Obama does not go there, it would be a terrible mistake. I did not support the adhanced interrogation techniques of the Bush Administration and was absolutely against Rummy’s “taking off the gloves” policy at the DoD, but war crime prosecutions would be a disaster for this country.
Mr. Joe on January 20, 2009 at 11:15 PM
Good,I hope you apply that same level of responsibility to whatever happens on Obama watch, because whatever goes wrong in America and the World is going to be his fault.

.
I know the only thing that is important to liberals like nonya is their talking points.
But to educated people who actually know what the he!! they are talking about facts matter.
The fact is that under liberal leadership, terrorism grew tremendously, striking American targets here and abroad.
Under Bush,50 million have been freed from some of the worst genocidal terrorist regimes the world has ever known.
Terrorist attacks have gone to completely zero against Americans and their interests abroad.
Terrorism is down over 40% world wide:
B.C. researchers find decline in global terrorism, question previous data
1 day ago
http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5iJciaxCBODpiOZKXuLS73Q0gpaBA
But what do liberals care anyway.
They have told us “there is no terrorist threat”.
Iran is just a “tiny threat”.
The Iraq war is lost.
The surge would not work.
More ignorance from the “smart ones”.
Even back to super smart liberal Carter’s administration, the one that funded and created Al-Qaeda stated this idiotic drivel:
Carter’s National Security Advisor Brzezinski being questioned about arming and training the jihadist in Afghanistan:
Q: Some stirred-up Moslems? But it has been said and repeated: Islamic fundamentalism
represents a world menace today.
Brzezinski: Nonsense! .
Yea!!!
Just another example of liberal idiocy that they call “smart power”.
Clinton and Carter did more to fund, support and allow the jihadist to kill tens of thousands of people around the world than anybody. Then they left it up to real strong leadership like Bush to clean it up.
This super smart liberal Brzezinski even supported Pol Pot:
“I encouraged the Chinese to support Pol Pot…. Pol Pot was an abomination. We could never support him, but China could.” [Blum, 1995; Z Magazine, 1997]
It’s a good thing that liberals like noneya keep telling each other how dam# smart they are because it sure does not show.
Even Mr. non-violence himself understands the success and leadership that Bush has shown:
Dalai Lama Stuns Audience… Admits: “I Love George Bush”
He loves him.
(Politiken)
The Dalai Lama admits, “I love George Bush.”
Beeqube and ROP reported:
liberals like noneya are to ignorant and pathetic to let things like facts get in the way of there baseless drivel.

NO!!No!!No!!! Nancy,it can’t be.
How could you also be a crazy nazi torturer like the
EEEEEEEEEEEEEvil Bush.
Let’s look at Obama’s choice for Attorney General:
Eric Holder the Neo-con
It seems to me that given the way in which they have conducted themselves, however, that they are not, in fact, people entitled to the protection of the Geneva Convention. They are not prisoners of war. If, for instance, Mohamed Atta had survived the attack on the World Trade Center, would we now be calling him a prisoner of war? I think not. Should Zacarias Moussaoui be called a prisoner of war? Again, I think not.
All because liberals choose to lie and come down with their “selective amnesia”about how much they agreed with Bush and supported his policies doesn’t mean that when all the facts are laid out, they will not be exposed for their pathetic hypocrisy.
So please liberals, just like with pre-war intel, quit whining and making your empty threats about “prosecuting Bush”.
PUT UP OR SHUT UP!!
You have had the power for years to act out all your liberal
fantasies about frog marches and convictions and have come up with absolutely nothing.
democratic leaderships attempt to appease and distract their leftist base with these bogus threats are only attempts to distract from the fact that Obama is rolling back on all his promises and won’t be able to deliver “hope and change”.
democrats and their friends in the media have worked so hard over the last few years to totally negate any coverage of the democrats support for Iraq and the methods of the War on Terror.Done everything they can to frame the message of”big ol dumb Bush tricked all of us super smart liberals”.
But please,do this, lets rehash all the democrats that yelled and screamed about Saddam’s WMD/Nuclear programs, ties to Al-Qaeda and support for the Patriot act,NSA wiretapping, and terrorist interrogation techniques.
PUT UP OR SHUT UP!!

Part of me hopes the Dems try to prosecute the Bush Administration over what is essentially a policy dispute. The Clinton impeachment did not do good things to the GOP, and there was a much better case for Bill Clinton suborning Monica Lewinsky’s perjury than there is to all of the paranoid ravings of the left wing.
If Bush had pardoned his Administration over these issues, the libs would have simply dug deeper and found some time an Administration official ripped a tag off a mattress, or some other charge that would actually stick. But as long as it is free and clear to come at Bush for these policies, they won’t go looking at the mattresses.
And as long as there is talk of coming after Bush, this has got to make the collective anus of the Administration of a man who rose through dirty, dirty, dirty Chicago politics pucker. Because I am sure there’s more than a ripped-off mattress tag the GOP could come at him with. So ironically, it may be Obama keeping Pelosi and her minions at bay.
Sekhmet on January 21, 2009 at 12:44 AM
To be honest with you, this is something that has to start making it’s way to the top.
Calling Obama and his herd out on their hypocrisy and selective patriotism is fine and good, but we must come up with positive alternatives.
I do believe that once the dust settles on this election/swearing in,that more specifics about proposals will be brought to light.
Fiscal conservatism, less government intervention, cutting taxes, strong on National security, being more inclusive and showing diversity with the electorate, and fighting for our beliefs to name a few, will come up strong quickly.
Obama and the democratic party have expectations set beyond belief to a sane person.Obama is already rolling back on promise after promise and the “it’s Bush’s fault” crowd will
be reduced to the whiny sideline show that they deserve as Obama’s face is on TV day in and day out, making him responsible for events here and at home.
“Hope and Change” will lose as much credibility as the “Global Warming” politics of fear is losing now.
The people jumping up and down are not talking about working hard and making tough choices, they are happy Bush is gone and asking where there check is.It will take no time for this crowd to start walking around pissed, with their hands out wanting to know where their “hope and change” is.
Nancy and Reid are already talking up massive tax increases, massive spending, and bragging about trading kisses with lobbyist. This combined with the corruption of many democrats rolling across the TV screen is not going to be the hope and change that a lot of people were planning on.
The Republicans should start by calling OBama out on all the money he is taking in from big business that the tax payers are shelling out billions to bail out.
They should also expose this huge pork fest for what it is:

Boehner calling this out is a start.
Combine this with Nancy making it clear that she is raising
taxes on Small and large business’s does not bode well for jump starting the economy.
Remember, the goal posts have been moved massively in regards to what the democrats consider “success”.
Instead of CREATING JOBS,the measure of success is now SAVING JOBS.
I would love to apply this to the Bush Administration considering the large amount of federal income, job creation, and business growth occurred due to the tax cuts.

There will be a lot of spinning with “this is just a distraction” routine but there is no hiding that “hope and change” is not being felt where it is needed the most.
Butt kissing by the press and pretty speeches are not going to hide the failure of socialist policies to fix these problems and appeasement policies to deal with terrorist and the leaders that support them.
There will be plenty of room for Republican values to stand tall these next few years if we and our elected officials on the hill fight for them.

Obama is going to cave to opinion polls and demonstrations like crazy. When he gets pressed he buckles. This is another reason the right should start protesting. Be visible and vocal. Keep the pressure on him and he will crack.

Yea right genius. This comment makes sense if the democrats were on Mars the last 8 years but that isn’t the case is it.
They voted for 2 wars and protected their corrupt buddies at Fannie/Freddie with everything they had.Not 1 piece of legislation produced by democrats to rein in the corruption
at Fannie/Freddie that started this sub-prime induced economic meltdown.
Unlike Republicans who tried many times to prevent this from happening:
<strong Whose policies led to the credit crisis?
posted at 9:40 am on September 16, 2008 by Ed Morrissey
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/16/whose-policies-led-to-the-credit-crisis/
The New York Times reported this five years ago:
Who blocked it,the democrats in full force to line their pockets with Fannie money and keep pushing loan practices for people who don’t pay their bills.
The “smart ones” were as ignorant about this as they have been about Iraq:
”These two entities — Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — are not facing any kind of financial crisis,” said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ”The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”
Representative Melvin L. Watt, Democrat of North Carolina, agreed.
”I don’t see much other than a shell game going on here, moving something from one agency to another and in the process weakening the bargaining power of poorer families and their ability to get affordable housing,” Mr. Watt said.
. And Sen. Christopher Dodd, the Democratic chairman of the Senate banking committee,
(who took boatloads of money from Fannie/Freddie blocked any type of regulation, did not offer one bit of oversight and regulation)
That’s a real smart position there, block any reform of an industry that is capable of ruining our economy with massive dept across the country, then blame it on Bush.
Probably works with the sheep in the democratic party, but not with the people in touch with reality that know how much the democrats are involved in this mess.
McCain specifically nailed this problem down only to be told he didn’t care about the “little” people and “minorities”
by the “smart ones” in the democratic party:
I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.
I urge my colleagues to support swift action on this GSE reform legislation.
Democrats opposed this straight across the board.Yet again
not offering any oversight or regulation on this impending
economic disaster.Continuing to tell us nothing was wrong, this is just a distraction, nothing to see here.
Bush tried to address this no less than 17 times, meeting nothing but resistance from the democrats:
Just the Facts: The Administration’s Unheeded Warnings About the Systemic Risk Posed by the GSEs
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2008/09/print/20080919-15.html
Should they have tried harder,yes.
But the democrats not only didn’t try to do anything, they insisted there was no problem and blocked any attempts to address the problem.
Now Obama has started off his Presidency with 100′s of fat cats coming in on their carbon loving private jets, fattening
Obama’s pockets while our tax dollars bail them out.
Harry Reid is up on the hill smooching up lobbyist with a smile on his face and telling the world that Obama will be doing the same, and idiot democrats will be sitting on the sidelines still whining about Bush and saying
“Yes we Can”.
If your so concerned about the debt in this country, your liberal heroes that you voted for are just as responsible as anybody.
Baxter Greene on January 21, 2009 at 10:03 AM
Do you type at mach speed? :)
scalleywag on January 21, 2009 at 10:13 AM
He’s a liberal.
The only thing they have is to rewrite history because their policies continuously produce nothing but failure.
Look at the democrats now.
They yelled and screamed for more than a decade about Saddam being a threat to the US and the World, then voted for war.
When the war got tough and they saw a political opportunity by being “anti-war” all of a sudden(just like in Vietnam)they produced bogus conspiracy theories and yelled for immediate withdrawl.
They continuously stated that Iraq was lost even pronouncing it on the senate floor while our troops were still on the battlefield.
They said the surge would not work and still demanded immediate withdrawl.
Now the surge has worked and Iraq is a success.
Democrats now say that they knew all along the surge would stop the violence and it was there yelling for withdrawl that really won the war.
So according to the “smart ones”.”Smart Power” consists of yelling surrender as soon as possible if you want to defeat your enemy.
No wonder they want drugs legalized so much, because you would have to be high as a kite to buy this ignorant bullsh!t.

Bush lost the conservative base when he supported comprehensive immigration and became identified with McCain. I heard that because Bush once had a Spanish nanny that he developed a sympathy for Hispanics and thus bent over backwards to make America ‘a more welcoming environment’. Of course as President he should have been more concerned about enforcing the law and building the fence and defending the USA from illegal immigrants. Wouldn’t it be amazing that the USA became a permanent socialist morass because of Bush’s nanny? Thus what I blame Bush for most is not following or enforcing the laws as related to illegal immigration. Because of that many conservatives deserted the GOP and either voted for Barr or for Obama.
