Bush in Texas: “I’m coming home with my head held high”

posted at 9:17 pm on January 20, 2009 by Allahpundit

A brave face on a tough day. The passion with which he emphasizes the words “50 million” speaks for itself; as for his claim to have tackled the tough issues instead of passing them on to other presidents, that’s true in some cases and … not so true in others.

If you want to say thanks, here’s your chance.

I wish him a comfortable obscurity and quiet fishing trips with Barney.

But, sadly, it would have been better for the country’s survival if Bush had not attacked Iraq, and if Saddam had funneled a WMD to an Islamic jihadist group which went on to strike a U.S. city and cause major casualties …because then we would be more unified and serious ~as a nation and a people~ in fighting back against the retrograde global Muslim movement aiming at establishing a planetwide theocratic tyranny.

Instead, the country is more divided than ever, 9/11′s righteous rage has been diluted and lost for good, and Bush’s feckless “Islam is a Religion of Peace” nonsense muddied the waters about Mohammadism’s intolerant, imperialistic, terroristic dogmas.

Sometimes preventing one pain causes far worse suffering.

May Obama learn this lesson fast, and hard.

Thank you so much President Bush!!!!!!!
I will miss your grace, honesty, tenacity, straightforwardness, bravery, convictions, and class you’ve shown in the office. You will always be my president.

I’ve notice in President Bush’s speech today that a huge lift is off his shoulders. He is relaxed. He has a great home to come to. Texas’ beauty and a beautiful family. Enjoy your years at home. You deserve it.

jencab on January 20, 2009 at 10:02 PM

God bless, Mr. President. Thank you for eight hard years of service to America, and thank you for keeping us from further attack for seven of those years. I’ll never forget the look on your face when told about the attack on the WTC; you felt the same as we all did, maybe deeper. You’ve been a most excellent president of our United States. Honor and respect to you always.

9/11 is Clinton’s fault because it happened before Bush had even been president a full year.

If terrorists attack the US tomorrow, it will be Obama’s fault, because he took over from Bush like 20 hour earlier.

e-pirate on January 20, 2009 at 9:56 PM

Hey…………. butte-pirate,

……………9/11 was Clinton’s fault because for eight years, he did everything to keep the FBI and CIA from working together with Jamie Gorelick’s wall, less they find out about his Chinese funny money, which in turned left us blind to the war that was being waged against us until the attacks started to add up on the Trade Towers, on the USS Cole, on our Embassies in Africa, and on, and on, and on, and on………….

……………. If we get hit tomorrow, it will only be Mr. Obama’s fault if he tells the troops and policies that President Bush put in place to protect us to stand down………

……… by the way, how is the third grade treating you this time around?

Seven Percent Solution on January 20, 2009 at 10:08 PM
