and this is a lie. You present this as fact, and it’s not. It’s not even an opinion. If you said ‘I don’t like McCain’ then that would be an opinion, and you’re entitled to it. If you said ‘I wish that a more conservative wont he republican primary’ then that would also be an opinion, and it’s one that I share. But if you claim that McCain is the same as Obama, that is a lie. And even as an opinion, it is incorrect, when you use the facts to check this comment, the results are this:

I understand why you did what you did these past months, pretty much for a solid year. Obama and his supporters would look at your comments and be delighted that someone from the inside of a conservative page argued against the person who won the republican nomination. And while the democrat PUMA’s failed to move their hurt feelings at Hillary’s loss to punish Obama and the democrat party, you and the others here succeeded. You succeeded in making sure that McCain was punished. You lied that he was exactly the same as Obama. You wanted a 1976 to get a 1980 – as if this would happen by magic! And you also advocated voting for the constitution party, as a protest vote against McCain. As well as claiming that Bob Barr would get at least 10% of the national vote on election day. Anything to give people a reason not to vote for McCain.

And you and the others here who share your mental illness will continue to poison the well here with your insanity, and acting like children. Thank God that there are a few adults here who aren’t swayed by your propaganda.

Ok, let’s play like children. Let’s play ‘if’. If only conservatives had backed McCain, he would have won. Bullsh*t. Weren’t you one of the ‘stfu and vote McCain’ folks, whizzman? The ‘it’s our party now, we don’t need you anymore’ crowd? See, unlike you, I have a memory longer than 10 minutes. I remember the heady days after the primary where the McCain freaks couldn’t wait to throw the conservatives out the door. As summer went on, and McCain’s campaign started to resemble the great sponge migration of 1909, realization crept in. And then Palin was picked. And suddenly, it’s like we had a candidate. You want to play ‘if’ you fracking infant, why don’t you try this one? If only we had an older, more experienced candidate than Palin, who was conservative, think of the power of that campaign. Instead of bashing people who voted for McCain reluctantly, we should bashing people that nominated him in the first place. Take his history of backstabbing out of it: he’s a senator, elistist mumbling, uninspiring old man. He fit every parody the left had of Republicans, even though he had more in common with them. You guys fell for media hype; McCain could reach across the aisle and draw from both sides. No. He just bashed and turned on his own party on big issues and got applauded by the opposition. You nominated a bad candidate. Go back in time and suck on that.

Dude, I didn’t vote for McCain, and I did tons more than question him. I wrote two humorous songs bashing him; I think I insulted him more creatively than anyone else on this board. Does that mean I can take credit for him cratering as badly as he did? Wow. What power I have. Remember, that’s 2 ‘l’s in Nelly, moron.
Seriously, as much as I would love the credit for McCAin’s fall, it belongs to nobody but him. He was a bad candidate, who ran an uninspiring bad campaign. You can froth and spit at people who question him, but you should remember one thing: campaigns are about persuasion, not kneejerk, lockstep, line up behind the jefe and show your support. Grow up, whizzman, or find another hobby. I’m sure there’s a 3rd world country looking for foam mouthed zealots to break into peoples houses and beat them death for not voting the right way.

You assume too much. Do you really think McCain was ever going to to go toe to toe with the solid blue congress over SCOTUS? Hardly. His entire M.O. was bland “bipartisanship”.

The best we could have hoped for under McCain would be another Kennedy or a squishy O’Conner, though it’s not outside the realm of possibilities that, out of “respect” for his opposition (or as a trade to push through some kind of odious speech legislation), he’d give us a Ginsberg.

I can practically smell the amnesty immigration bill now.

Loss of senate and house seats and the WH. Should have accepted the bill when it was in a reasonable form. The hyssterical reactions about the evil Hispanic hordes from the extremists that went unchecked by the more responsible GOP members has come home to roost.
But at least people held to their principles….
