Spike Lee: Tomorrow’s the most important day in American history
posted at 1:29 pm on January 19, 2009 by Allahpundit
Insight from a man who once believed, and maybe still does, that AIDS was a conspiracy to kill blacks. He saved this newest revelation for the right network, too: Here’s Obama supporter James Poniewozik, writing at Time about MSNBC’s absurdly breathless Obamapalooza ads.
On one of its incessantly running Inauguration Day promos, a narrator gushes, “When a new President inspires the nation, one day Americans will ask: where were you when Barack Obama became President?”
Besides the confusing timeline of that sentence, there’s something almost bludgeoningly hortatory about it. Mind you, I voted for Barack Obama enthusiastically, in the primaries and the general election–and yet hearing stuff like this (Obama = The Moon Landing) I can empathize with the people who didn’t.
Refresh my memory if I’m forgetting something, but when President Bush was inaugurated in 2001, I don’t remember promos this blatantly triumphalist even on Fox News. It passive-aggressively defies you to disagree with it, as it asserts that this guy who hasn’t even been sworn in yet will undeniably be an inspirational, nay, an historic figure. Even if you didn’t vote for him, you have to admit that Jan. 20 will be a truly amazing day. Right? You have to admit it, right? Well, admit it!
The difference between 2001 and now: Unlike Bush, Obama is an avatar heaven-sent to save America, a point made before by Lee and reaffirmed here with his theory of whose invisible hand was pushing the economy off a cliff in September. Exit question: Is anyone not watching MSNBC’s coverage of the inauguration tomorrow, just to see how obsequious they’ll be? I expect nothing less than tears from Matthews and an intimation from Olby that we’re seeing providence unspool before our very eyes. Click the image to watch.

Just more blather from another ignorant black person who is convinced that before Oslime-a came along, the path to success was designed by whitey to exclude minorities.
He’d never mention that ignorant whites along with ignorant minorities were always outside of the world of successful people. AND they always will be unless Oslime-a has his way. Then only whitey will be denied the paths to success.

Part of me wants to watch the libtards worship a false idol in the hopes the entire place along with all of the false idol worshipers will be swallowed up by the earth, but I don’t think I can stomach it, that and I have a feeling I will be taking a huge crap tomorrow that will last through the entire televised Obamasiah worship…a crap I suspect will look exactly like Spike “my racist movies suck” Lee!

The DC area has gone insane. Basically, at 2am tomorrow morning the city will be closed off to private “unauthorized” vehicles. If you live outside DC but commute in…well, you either go in butt early or you get a mandated day off. A number of inbound freeways are switched to HOV-only as well, but nothing is going inside the Beltway unless you are one of the anointed.
Maybe this is just me, but I don’t remember such things happening four years ago.

The bigger the mistake, the more important the day.
(I’m still hoping Obama will be reasonable like Clinton, and not crazy like Carter.)

At noon Tuesday, since this is when my bowels have decided to move lately, I will undoubtedly be taking a dump. It’s purely coincidence however that what I think of Obama and the remains I will leave at about 12:05 will be one in the same.

Spike Lee is a ‘Dipshit’.
But I repeat myself…
The Most Important Day in American History? So tomorrow is more important than the day the Declaration of Independence was signed? The day that Women or Black’s were given the legal right to vote?
I’m certain he was educated in a Government School System. Talk about the epic failure!
PappaMac on January 19, 2009 at 2:39 PM
There is a silver lining in all of this. At long last the barrier to Afro-American success, self-confidence, and self-esteem has been removed. No longer will whitey be able to contain the ideas and contribution of blacks.
No longer will blacks resort to drug abuse to lessen the pain of being held back becuase of racism. The rate of abortion and single-mother households in the black community will experience an “over the cliff” drop. Welfare will finally develop a negative connotation. The list is virtualy endless.
The bottom line, and this is the silver lining, is this: At noon on Tuesday, Jan 20, 2009, Afro-Americans will no longer be able to use the excuse of “being black”.
The dark horror is over.

What ignorant nonsense. I am so sick of all this ludicrous Obama worship. Obama was an unaccomplished state legislator, a failed Congressional candidate, and an unaccomplished half-term junior U.S. Senator, before winning the presidency because of his skin color and celebrity status. When the man has actually accomplished something of note for this country — other than winning elections — they can let me know. At that point, I’ll be happy to reassess his merits. Until then, I wish they’d just STFU.

The only thing historic about this day is that it marks the day Americans voted for a man with absolutely no experience to run the most powerful country in the world.

Observations from the front:
Here’s how attendance played out at work last night, we have 8 folks of African decent on the crew. The 3 indigenous called in “sick”, the 5 immigrants (3 from Africa, 2 from the islands) all reported on time and completed the full 12 hr. shift. There is no love loss between the 2 groups.
Entitled to what?

In the late 90′s I was at a Boston Market near Mahwah NJ with some friends from work and Spike and his body guards were there getting food. We were a few behind him and joking around, saying to each other, “Whitey doesn’t like your movies.” He must have heard it and was staring us down from across the room, and we were just laughing at the nerdy little creep.

I crossed paths with Spike Lee a couple of time in the late 70′s/early 80′s at NYU film school and can say categorically he is one of the most bigoted people I ever met. The only people he hates more than whites are Jews. Same for his friend Denzel Washington.
He is a just a loathsome creature.

Spike Lee in all of his infinite wisdom is right guys:
September 22, 1862 and January 1, 1863 didn’t mean a damn thing. Maybe Spike Lee would prefer that we repeal any laws or executive orders that occurred on those dates.
I guess the guy has to do something, since his movies don’t do well.

*I do not mean to lump all boomers into this category. When I use the term in a derogatory sense it is aimed squarely at the self serving, me me me, everyone is stupid/racist/greedy/evil who doesn’t agree with my bankrupt ideology that has not had a new idea in over 80 years. There are many boomers (my parents included) who worked hard and actually made themselves and this country better without making a scene.

Latest update from “Obama Central” (Georgetown, Washington, DC)…
Throngs of young people walking down the street shouting “Obama!” Part of me wants to be happy for them. It is nice to see young people enthusiastic about something, but can you imagine how hurt they will be when they realize this is all hype and false hope? Even if Obama were to do an OK job, there is no way he can live up to the Left’s hopes. What will happen when the hopes of these people are crushed upon the rocks of reality?
Another Obama fanatic just gave me a CD of music (illegally) copied from famous musicians. On one side is the quote, “Rosa sat, so Martin could walk. Martin walked, so Obama could run. Obama is running so our children can fly.” (Just typing that hurts my fingers. Blech!)
On the other side is this quote (it is long, but well worth reading if you can avoid losing your lunch. It illustrates the fantasy world in which many of these people live):
“It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation. Yes we can. It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom. Yes we can. It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness. Yes we can. It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballots; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed our way to the Promised Land. Yes we can to justice and equality. Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity. Yes we can heal this nation. Yes we can repair the world. Yes we can. We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change. We want change. We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics…they will only grow louder and more dissonant…We’ve been asked to pause for a reality check. We’ve been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope. But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope. Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America, that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea: Yes We Can.” (emphasis mine)
Beautiful words, I suppose. I cannot help but wonder, however, if people would feel the same if McCain won. Hey Mr. Lefty, are we still one people if a Republican wins

You can’t write on both sides of a CD and expect it to work. And, just how big was the “other side” of this CD? If all that writing was on there, it must have been in a microscopic font.

These words are written on the cardstock cover that he printed and stapled together. I have not opened it to see if anything is printed on the CD itself. Why does this matter? I would think that the words themselves are far more noteworthy.

“Yes we can”….but it wont be the Barack-O-blacks way…the way of socialism mind you….we will pressure him into more “Joe the plumber” moments for the next 4 years. The guy is an empty headed, empty suit commie, whose greatest accomplishment is, and will only ever be to be born with black skin.
csdeven on January 19, 2009 at 5:02 PM
Perhaps before jumping to conclusions, you should think. It might save you from some embarrasment. Yes, I posted this twice. In fact, I said that in the very first sentence of the second post. I did this because I thought people might be interested in what I am witnessing here at ground zero.
As for stolen music, I can tell from the list of songs he has printed on the cardstock envelope. I thought that you might have been intelligent enough to figure that out. Perhaps I assumed incorrectly? Would you like me to provide said list?
I would think that my editorial comments made it quite clear that I am not a fan of what is happening. Should I explain it to you in simple language so that you can understand?
Bob, ad hominum attacks are a sign of either a weak mind or a weak argument. Sometimes it just feels too good to avoid, but generally it is best to skip the personal attack.

Most important dayin American history?
1. signing of Declaration of independence.
2. Adoption of our constitution.
3. Defeat of British for our independence.
4. Man on moon.
5.Defeat of Germany & Japan thus saving the world.
Just a few off the top of my head. The difference, the men involved in these put their lives on the line with no assurance of success, but a strong belief in the values we need to start and continue to build a great nation.
So far Obama is just an American Idol star.

Bob, re-read my post. What on earth makes you think that I am pro-Obama? I just do not see it. Is it not obvious that I am mocking the hype and false hope? Good Lord, Bob, relax. We are on the same side here. If we were not, however, would it not be better to win me over to your side rather than alienating me by immediately attacking?
I can understand your frustration. That is why I posted in the first place. I needed to vent. It is very difficult to be a conservative in DC. I stood in line for over an hour to vote (grudgingly) for McCain. I was surrounded by people who assumed that everyone around them was voting for Obama since they could not imagine anyone voting for McCain. DC went overwhelmingly for Obama, of course. Sadly, one of the first things Obama will do is push for DC voting rights. That will give Eleanor Holmes Norton a real vote in the House.

More news from the front…
VDOT and the DC government is suggesting that people leave their cars behind and *walk* through DC for the coronation. A cynical part of me is reading this as officially equating the inauguration to some kind of pilgrimage…all those people walking across the Roosevelt bridge and all.
My kids are directed to wear red, white, and blue to school tomorrow…not sure if I want them to oblige. I mean, this is an inauguration of a public servant, right? And yep, this is a private school. Not even the privates are immune from Hopenchange, it seems.
My family just finished a quiet dinner at home where we toasted President Bush for his part in keeping us safe over the past 8 years. Starting tomorrow I’m setting a goal to handload a minimum of 100 rounds of 30’06 each week for my Garand. I got a text today from a friend of mine equating the never-ending Obamagasm-like coverage to Princess Di’s death – over the top, and just plain ridiculous. I give President Present six months before the long knives come out, once the MSM realizes they’ve been duped.

If we looked at the content of Obama’s character instead of the color of his skin, we would all realize that tomorrow is not a historic day at all — it is a sad day in history. All of the praise Obama is receiving should be saved for the first deserving black President (not necessarily a conservative, just someone who worked hard to get where he/she is and didn’t do so many things for pure political expediancy).
