Video: World’s biggest celebrities honor world’s biggest celebrity
posted at 8:17 pm on January 18, 2009 by Allahpundit
The clip barely scratches the surface; click here and just keep scrolling. And to think, MM was worried that the inauguration might turn a bit schlocky.
Estimated price tag: $150 million and counting, enough to finally raise an eyebrow among The One’s media base. I trust you’ll agree, though, that Bono’s pearls of wisdom make it all worthwhile. As for Springsteen, as always, his facial expressions are more eloquent than mere words.

$150 mil – for a party? We are in trouble.
Might as well go to Vegas and a least double down.
Or make 10 $15 million movies. I could at least double
that money. This is what DC will do the next four years.
Throw good money after bad with nothing to show

No one cares what these so called celebrities think
But i would find it rather telling
If the Islamic NAZIS
Blew up some holywood big event
Then watch as all the hollywood elitists are slaughtered
by the same Islamic nazis they supported..
but the best part would be
to watch them crying out for the us marines to come save their nasty sorry asses
And for the aclu to step in and stop it..
Saying sorry folks but we cant allow that.
You see we cannot allow the us military to use lethal force so please wait for the lesbian meter maids to come with their tasers to arrest them (cough gag)
So when i see these creeps on tv
I turn the channel
You see i would rather watch osama bin laden
than ANYONE from hollywood..
At least i know osama only wants to kill me
While these hollywood celebrities
want to subject the entire world
to the likes of bioy george and madonna
Please osama come save us..
From HOLLYWOOD..

As a U2 fan I’ve had to just cringe and try to ignore this kind of stuff over the years but I think it’s going to get worse. Larry Mullen (the drummer) made some really ignorant comments about Bush/Blair lately and their producer Brian Eno appears to be a full blown moonbat. If you live in a super rich Euro bubble and only get your news from CNN International and fellow moonbats you are bound to turn on America eventually.
BrianBoru on January 18, 2009 at 8:45 PM
As hard as he wants to be Lincoln, he’ll never even get close unless and until he understands us Republicans. The Democrats have always practiced the politics of groups and dehumanization, which is why that party found it so easy to justify slavery; the Republicans have always rejoiced in the rights of the individual, for only by maximizing the rights of the individual can the rights of everyone be increased.
I’ll put it bluntly: Abortion is the new slavery. When one person is able to define the humanity or nonhumanity of another person, the policy which enables that “right” is wrong. When the same laws that allow the definition of a fetus as human (for allowing a charge of murder) have an express exemption for mother or doctor, there is something gravely wrong with that law. When a president-elect allows newborn babies to die because their mothers don’t want them, there is something wrong. Obama’s showpeople can prance in front of the Lincoln Memorial, but neither their leader nor they themselves understand what the brooding giant on the chair behind them thought.
I’m hoping at some point that they do “get it”, but I’m not holding my breath.
unclesmrgol on January 18, 2009 at 8:48 PM
Counted us out? America exists now? I don’t think I can express accurately enough about how little I care what countries we’ve liberated or protected, and given aid to think about the United States.
Where was the Ireland navy during Katrina to lend a hand Bono?

I was never really a fan, my older sister was bigtime. I got pissed off at them after they treated Lola Cashman so poorly.
They gave her those things, believe me – she’s a friend of my sister. My sister remembers the Joshua Tree tour very well and them giving Lola those things.
When Lola was in financial trouble she tried to sell them and big bad Bono had to step in and put the cabash on it.
With all his money, I mean really, so tacky.

When execs from the Big 3 flew their private jets to D.C. to ask for money, politicians cried foul.
When AIG spent a couple million on a “retreat” for their execs in Arizona (if memory serves me correctly), politicians cried foul.
Now, these same politicians are shoving down our collective throats over 150 million dollars, just to swear a guy into office. An event that could take a couple of minutes in the Oval Office, if politicians were truly serious about tightening our collective belts.
Message received, loud and clear.

If a movie is made of the Inaugural, I vote it the worst political movie ever.
I forgot a great movie however: Jack Lemmon’s Puppies for Sale.
This is an incredible short film that has an unusual property–men generally cry when they watch it. Women do not. It is almost impossible to find now on the web (it used to be widely available), but it involves key male emotional stimuli that make men a bit weepy.
Dan Clark, the inspirational speaker, is the author of the short that insprired the film. If you ever get a chance to watch it, check my observation out.

Without exaggeration and in complete seriousness, this video disgusted more than any video from this decade I have seen. Appeasement of evil offends more than evil in itself. I hate more the crowd at Heston Aerodrome on 30 September 1938 who clapped for Neville Chamberlain upon his return to Munich than I hate Hitler himself.
I suppose I should get back to my role of HotAir’s obnoxious RINO.
thuja on January 18, 2009 at 9:24 PM
You know, I, for one, am going to cut some slack to Bono for the simple fact he went against the grain, and he praised Bush for — what was it for? oh yea, that little thing of saving 10,000,000 lives in Africa from AIDS, noting Bush’ departure from previous American presidents — for rescuing Africa when it made liberal heads explode.
Springsteen… his mind is as mumbly and incoherent as he sings.
silverfox on January 18, 2009 at 9:25 PM
Yeah I’m with you. But my point was that those who keep holding O up as the new Lincoln seem to be missing the civil war-Lincoln connection.
Or maybe they aren’t missing it and we are.

You know what my HOPE is?
I HOPE all the real, true patriotic Americans organize themselves in the next couple of years and start pushing for real CHANGE by marginalizing and transforming all the institutions that are dominated by left-wing, anti-American liberals. There has to be a major culture push to take back the News Media, Movies, Television, Music, Magazines, Schools etc. Start supporting pro-American alternatives and start looking for ways to marginalize the Obama propaganda forces and HOPEFULLY Obama is sent packing back to his old Chicago neighborhood to be consoled by his terrorist friends while Washington and the rest of America is taken back by the real, true American patriots.

This lavish, grand, and yes, historic event will have to go on without lonely old me watching any of it. I’m not bitter. I’m just deeply troubled and disappointed. And Drywall, grow up. Any kind of negativity from the conservatives pales in comparison to all these years or Bush Derangement syndrome which has become more malevolent and malignant with each passing day and shows no sign of stopping or slowing down.
Glynn on January 18, 2009 at 9:39 PM
Well that doesn’t take much as he pretty much just mumbles.
What’s the appeal of this Springsteen anyway? He’s not exactly a Mario Lanza, in fact he can’t sing worth a hoot. He just kind of mumbles and he’s small and ugly to boot. And who is that duffus with the reddish tinted glasses? I just don’t get the criteria for being a “celebrity” these days. I think that some committee in Hollywood must decide who is a “celebrity”, maybe “Play for Pay”, and then the sheeple just go along.

She has already been outed as no more of a legitimate correspondent than the “Olberloser” or Chris “thrill” Mathews. If we stop showing clips of these lillegitmates, and stop vieiwing their news, the companies that buy air time on their stations will stop buying air time, and they will all go where they should, into the dust bin.

He is half black. No slavery blood. He is as much white as he is black. Just like Tiger was half until he started kicking everyones ass on the golf corse, then he became black. Slavery is a stain on this great nation and sometimes i wander what in hell our ancestors were thinking. i’m willing to accept that it’s big news because he will be the first black president, but when liberals throw a fit because bush’s inauguration was a mere 30 mill or so, and say nothing for this 150 million plus thing, it’s disgusting.
and bono should shut the hell up, because america, free markets, freedom of speech and taxes designed not to punish success – made this guy filthy rich.
and mr. brian williams, why do we care what europeans think? most of them with decades of failed socialist policies and paper-thin armies that count on america to defend the world? wait, they were counting us out??? well, get you’re own military defense… not to mention NATO (U.S. being largest source of funding), red cross and world-wide first responders donators to disaster relief… maybe europe should take over? oh, but now they don’t have to write us off so we can keep doing what we do.
if i were brian williams i would said something like “we’ve always been here, no need to feel that way.” or just ended the interview on the spot.
my God, WE fought off the taliban and al qaida. WE liberated iraq and afghanistan… WE now have to wade through the political fall-out of the surge to insure victory in iraq (rather that lose and go home like liberals wanted)… and what happens? the country… and celebrities… fall all over this guy who has done exactly… nothing.
first on his agenda? more than $1,000,000,000,000 in spending.

A missing element in all of this is that no one bothers to poll/ask large segments of the US whether we have any real faith & trust in, or have “Ruled out”, Europe, Asia, the ME etc.
Take a Euro-weenie reporter and his camera crew to just about any roadside bar, mall or Little League game in San Diego, Phoenix, Cincinnati or Pittsburgh and let him find out how popular the rest of the world (with some notable exceptions) is viewed by the US.
Bottom line: this kind of celebrity/Euro tard-ism is part of the game when you’re the Top Dog. It was ever thus, and its only a problem if we LET it be a problem.
And to be fair to Bono at least, he actually treated GWB with some respect and even went so far as to vocally defend and praise his Africa policies.
Mike D. on January 18, 2009 at 11:21 PM
That’s gold,absolute gold.
Nobody takes on more responsibility and relief than America.
To have these clowns talk about America being “counted” in again is a joke.
Where is your minority leader Bono?
France,Britain,Germany,Spain…Where is your “Black” leader.
They contentiously condemn America but when it comes to walking the walk, they always come up short.
I am not bothered by all this hope and change Messiah talk.
The 60-70% ratings for OBama to change not only America but the world show just how much trouble this Administration is in already. It will be impossible for them to meet the expectations of the excitable sheep that think they are not going to have to pay their mortgage and be delivered into Nirvana.
Like any one hit wonder or celebrity, the majority of people will get burned out on all this hero worship.
Combine this with the difficulties of the economy and being tested by countries and terrorist who view Obama as a pacifist and reality is going to come crashing down very quickly.
He has pulled back on many promises all ready and now we are hearing that tax cuts for corporations are going to be cut and the Bush tax cuts will be rescinded immediately.
This and an increase in spending don’t spell “hope and change” for the economy and the same spoiled people that are
bowing at his feet will be cussing his a$$ out before the year is out.
Good luck “Paparazzi President”.

The MSM, the Celeb Idiods, the Left Wing kooks, have elevated Obama to the level of something measured against the likes of Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Even Lincoln. I think one morning news program anchor compared Obama’s courage and skill to that of the US Airways Pilot who saved 155 lives in NYC the other day. How outrageous.
All of those people have something in common with each other that our new President lacks. That is to say that they were heros, statesman, and men who had proven themselves to the world for who they were.
The media has skipped a step here and has not waited to see what Obama is made of, what his ability to lead is and where our country will be 4 years from now. For me, my vote is still out.
