It’s a village created by Hamas. Tel Aviv was not named after any Arab village in the area, and whatever villages there were in the greater Tel Aviv area sold their land to the Jews once Tel Aviv expanded and the big land developers came along. Maybe that’s what Assud’s grandfather did and he was too ashamed to tell that to his little grandchild.

Whoo hoo, I translated it! (This is the result of my year in Israel)I left in the word in Hebrew when I didn’t know how to translate it, and when I was fairly certain, but not completely certain of a translation, I put it in brackets.

That last line is somewhat up in the air. The verb is definitely meaning to fight, and it is in the first person plural, the second word means in/with/by our children, depending on the context. This is probably an idiom or something that I’m not familiar with, but I think there is a good chance it means what I wrote above.
