Actually, I don’t consider this hypocrisy on the part of the One or his “progressive” supporters. It’s more like they’re going to reserve the privilege of torturing those they regard as the real “terrorist threat”.

Which, considering that the BATFE was telling the Washington Post last week that “domestic terrorism” was being “dangerously neglected due to the excessive emphasis on foreign terrorists, real or imagined“, indicates to me that the focus of DHS will be shifting toward the people that the left views as the most dangerous threat- the eponymous “right wing militias”, whether they really exist or not. (Other than that bunch of S****F***t a$$holes, my guess is that most such “groups” mainly exist in a few fevered imaginations, mainly of those who regard themselves as members of same.)

And of course they’ll have to use the full weight of DHS authority against those who they regard as the “enablers” of the “militia movement”. Such as the NRA, the Heritage Foundation, and the Cato Institute. They won’t have to worry about “torture” (or will they?), but I’m sure the rest of the DHS playbook, from warrantless wiretaps to asset confiscation will be “on the table”, and probably fully “in play”.

The main thing that concerns me is that after the next strike at us domestically by purely foreign terrorists, instead of properly identifying it as such and taking proper defensive/retaliatory measures, The One will blame “domestic terrorism” and use that as justification to attack those he regards as the “reactionary opponents” of his Vision Of The Way The World Should Be. After all, if Bill Clinton could blame the NRA and “right-wing talk radio” for the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing in Oklahoma City, The One could use the same gambit on a larger scale in a more serious terrorist attack.

That’s why it’s called the Big Lie technique. And from what I’ve seen so far, the major difference between The One and Bill in the lying department is that The One regards Bill as a piker.
