Let's face it--it does not matter how serious Sarah is about the issues; Sarah will continue to take a beating by the MSM who are on a search and destroy mission to forever marginalize her and take her out. Sarah could be the most eloquent spokesman on energy policy, the bailout and Gaza and still it wouid not matter a whit to the MSM. Nothing will be fair in the MSM's coverage of Sarah. Instead rally behind Sarah to give her a better opportunity to be the 2012 GOP standard-bearer and pledge yourself to do everything in your power to take Obama out in 2012.

Seriously, I think Pelosi and Reid are swimming in dangerous waters with this ANWR bill. Elitist Goracle followers (talk about a freakin’ cult!) from thousands of miles away telling Alaskans what they can’t do with their own resources. This is an issue tailor made for Sarah. It will heal some of the partisan rancor left over from the election in her home state by uniting all but the most extreme greenies behind her again, and her national profile will be helped by championing a serious issue that got major traction in the polls pre-financial crisis.

Conservatives all over America will cheer her on if she fights Capitol Hill liberals for energy independence. As a matter of fact, even the new Democrat Senator is on her side on ANWR. In this area she does have an impressive depth of knowledge and experience that will be obvious, if the media ever decide to cover it at all. With Palin though, the media MO seems to be make her look bad, or ignore till you can make her look bad.

Brian1972 on January 16, 2009 at 9:22 AM
You are right on target here. Energy is one way where she can highlight her policiy credentials and begin to build support. I believe her best way to counter the distorted image woven by the MSM during the election is to stay in the public's view and address serious issues. I'd avoid any fluff pieces all together...no turkey pardoning. Just serious, meat and potatoe issues. This is an approach that can gradually change the perception of her as a ditz.

Here are 10 random thoughts about Sarah, Obama and America as we contemplate the future under the Messiah:

1)With Obama running a 'permanent campaign' the GOP is at least 3 TD's down before the game begins. Fortunately the game is 4 years long, that gives Obama every chance to stumble along the way. However, if the GOP is to at least become competitive it will have to get its act together no later than the spring of 2010.

2)I know many people think the next GOP chairman must be a high-tech wiz or savvy to text messaging and Blackberries but I am of the old school: the head of the party must be foremost an upfront salesman and have a thorough understanding of public relations to keep the GOP in the news; otherwise the Messiah will suck all the oxygen out of America's political balloon in the next 2 years.

3)if you are a conservative you must vow to withhold your support or primary vote from anybody who tolerates Obama turning America into a 'socialist paradise', pledges to rewrite the Declaration of Independence or is bound to dismantle the Constitution. Working with Obama under this atmosphere is not acceptable.

4)the MSM will not let up in its 24/7 campaign to diminish Sarah Palin or any Republican who does not bow at the throne of Obama or threatens to knock the Messiah off his perch. Get used to it, but fight it with all the vigor you can muster; never give in or concede defeat. America is too important to allow yourselves to be cowed.

5)Sarah Palin is the leading candidate to be the leader of the GOP, if she wants it. I support Sarah, but I believe that Sarah has to declare herself in the hunt for 2012 (intentions, PAC etc) no later than spring 2009 (by the end June);if she does not, Sarah does risk other candidates bleeding off her support that she may never get back; if anything Sarah don't go the Fred Thompson route and dilly-dally. Openly declare and let the chips fall where they lie.

6)I am a realist. Conservatives need the votes of independents, Reagan Democrats, Catholics, moderate fiscal conservatives, and those of a libertarian bent to win in 2012. I am not saying that conservatives bend their principles to suit others; quite the contrary I believe in Reagan conservatism, but I will not allow my sentiments affect reality; Obama must be defeated in 2012; Sarah Palin would make the ideal candidate to appeal to all of these groups.

7)As Ann Coulter said on Rush Limbaugh's show decent Americans have to stop being charitable towards minority victim groups who use their victimhood as a political ploy and exhibit crocidile tears; as Sean Connery asked Kevin Costner in The Untouchables, What are you prepared to do Mr. Ness to take down Capone? Are you prepared to go all the way?"

NB: Obama, like Capone is evil, a child of the devil-accept it!

8)Remember circumstances will change. But the greatness of America as founded by Franklin, Jefferson, Hamilton, and Washington is not negotiable and cannot be bargained away if we stand firm and fight, fight, fight Obama with the last drop of our blood. We either take back America in 2012 or risk that the 22nd amendment gets repealed and Obama becomes the permanent President of the USA.

9)Evangelicals, embrace the fervor and zeal that your ancestors were drawn to during the Crusades to keep Europe free from Islamic totalitarianism so that America does not become contaminated by Islamofascism-be prepared to fight Islamofascism to the death. I am tolerant of all religions but I am not tolerant of religious leaders who advocate the annihilation of the West and that young Islamofascists must become suicide bombers to please Allah. I, for one, would give my life for America to keep her a Judeo-Christian community. I hope millions of you would be prepared to do the same.

10)Pray to your God daily, remain vigilant to the forces of evil as represented by the 'false' Messiah, Obama and totally commit yourself to ousting Obama in 2012. Americans have one last chance to reclaim the country we were born into, that we love, and that we are prepared to die for. And folks many of you may have to give their lives for America to save the rest of us from Obama and his Marxist merry men and women who Bill Ayres said over 30 years ago have to be prepared to exterminate 25 million freedom-loving capitalists that pose a counter-revolutionary threat.

Word is now out that Obama wants to run a 'permanent campaign'. This is not news to me. I predicted this 2 months ago after Obama was elected. Again, the GOP has to get its act together ASAP and back one conservative candidate as soon as the conservative cause can be mobilized. If conservatives let this go to 2011 or heaven forbid to the primary season I believe we are doomed. We are already way behind as it is.

John McCain is the embodiment of the Peter Principle: better than average Senator (in terms of competence and fulfilling the job description) but lousy Presidential candidate (failure to see it's us against them and you win by taklng no prisoners).

Noneya,

I'll say it again. You have some pain in that life of yours. I'm not gonna say it, but you know what pain I'm talking about.

There are organizations that can help with that terrible pain.

You don't have to go it alone.

Sincerely,

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, his controversial running-mate, will not attend the dinner, Bill McAllister, a Palin spokesman tells Mother Jones…
That's illuminating, though. Sarah Palin is "controversial". Obama and McCain and Caroline Kennedy are not. Tells you all you need to know.

Very true, but that’s not good enough for our own unhinged moonbats here. For them, he’s evil, he’s a traitor, and his entire career was an elaborate hoax, all culminating to the event when he could help Obama get elected. These dead-enders to facts, logic and reason don’t care about the truth of the matter such as what you pointed out. In the end, they will assume room temperature with the intense hatred of him, and anyone who hasn’t gone along with them, or dared to oppose thier their insanity here.

wise_man on January 17, 2009 at 10:56 AM
Not really. You overstate your case. Just because I don't think McCain is politically acceptable doesn't mean I have to think he's a traitor or that his campaign was a hoax. He ran as a moderate Republican and he lost. He is a moderate Republican whose campaign was in the doldrums until he selected Sarah Palin. Those are facts, logic and reason.

Check out Sean Hannity’s good interview of Senator John McCain; and then realize that McCain is on our side. Given the economy, the money Obama had and the media bias, this was a bad year for the Republicans, and John McCain did better than anyone else could have. Let’s move on and deal with the issues ahead of us. So far, John McCain has opposed the auto bailout and voted not to release the TARP bailout funds; and he is voicing concern that we not rescue defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq and that we face up to a worsening situation in Afghanistan.

hmmm, not true in fact Obama has:

(1) The Presidency

(2) A custom built limo to protect him from all the right wing kooks and freaks that are a little upset that a black man is now the most powerful man in the world

(3) Air Force 1; you know that bright and shiny 747 that flies around with the President’s Seal on both sides. That is now Obama’s plane for at least the next 4 years

(4) The U.S. Secret Service to watch him and his family’s back

(5) A new house,in case you didn’t know the address here it is:
1600 Pennsylvania Ave Washington,DC

(6) Marine 1: the big green and white helicopter to fly him into Andrews Air Force Base to board his already mentioned bright and shiny 747 with the President’s Seal on both sides

Unlike those idiots out there who judge Sarah by her sub-par interview with Couric I will not resort to that standard in judging Sanford or any other conservative Republican. In choosing a new football head coach teams look at the body of work of an individual and not one or decisions to go for it on 4th down and not succeed. Everybody has a bad day, including Sanford and Sarah. To brand anybody based on their worst performance is not intellectually honest and quite honestly is un-American in terms of not being fair.

Correct, but Sanford biggest fan on this page was bashing Sarah for this very issue. Frankly, my opposition to Sanford has more to do with expanding the Rs base. I don't think that a middle-aged white guy from the South really screams diversity or a new Republican party.

If SARAH is such a dunce and big fool why are ALL the liberals ranting and raving over her? Biden is a big fool and he has disappeared off the radar-last seen somewhere in Iraq trying to convince Maliki to separate Iraq innto three parts. She’s the only one with a coherent and appropriate energy policy. Why does our government keep making it harder and harder for low income folks to get by? Especially the Democrats in our government?

The libs want Palin to run only IF they can have free rein to try to portray her as a dunce. Which, of course, (included this past election) dragging a 17-year-old pregnant girl and a Down syndrome child through the mud. That's the liberal M.O. They know as well as anyone else that when they run on ideas, they're losers.

They also know that Sarah Palin on her own would be an attractive candidate who connects with people. That was why the Slime Machine had to kick into high gear after August 29.

My evaluation on the Messiah is not based on that interview or a series of interviews but on his overall record since college. To deny that Obama is not a disciple of Olinsky or Ayres (not domestic terrorism but his radical education ideas)or to deny that Obama hung around some unseemly folks including Blago, Wright, Rezko, Khalidi, Odinga and ACORN etc is to deny Obama's history. And I am not about to do that.

You mean Obama shouldn’t be judged based on his “my Muslim faith” interview? ‘Cos that’s the best parallel I can find for the Sarah-haters going on (and on and on) about the (heavily edited) Couric/Gibson interviews.

While we're comparing those two examples, why don't we also compare how much each was brought up, on this website, in the media, etc.? In fact, a number of commenters here defended Obama in that instance.
