Video: Rick Sanchez dumps all over Joe the Plumber

And I do mean all over. There’s bad blood here and it shows: This is nothing more or less than Sanchez’s version of an Olbermann special comment, replete with juvenile verbal tics to emphasize his contempt for his subject (“Samuel” replaces Olby’s sneering “sir” when addressing Bush). Never did I think I’d say this, but even by Olber-standards, the condescension here is simply exquisite.
Bill Whittle clarifies JTP’s comments about keeping the media away from the front lines at PJM:
What was more distressing to me was that some extremely patriotic men — J.D. Johannes for example — construed that to mean that Joe was referring to people like him, and Michael Yon, and Michael Totten; people who, at great risk to their lives and on their own dime, have for years now been placing themselves in harm’s way in order to get out the story that is not getting out any other way.
I think this is a terrible misunderstanding, although certainly an understandable one. I cannot speak for Joe, but I for one let that remark flow right over me simply because I took it to mean that he was referring to the leftist, anti-Western, so-called “professionals” from Reuters and the BBC and others; people who he has confronted on the ground in Gaza on the moral grounds that they are there to show each and every Palestinian casualty (and willing to fabricate them if necessary) while remaining utterly mute and invisible while rockets rain down on Israeli families. I cannot imagine for an instant that Joe was referring to common citizens like J.D., Mike Yon, and Mike Totten who — like me and like Joe himself for that matter — are simply regular people called to try and fight back against the tide of bias and outright deception we see in the media.
Maybe so, but according to Roggio, elsewhere JTP says, “I think the military should decide what information to give the media and then the media can release it to the public. I don’t believe they need to be in the front lines with soldiers, I don’t believe they need to, uh, you know, be bothering the military for information or for access to certain areas.” I’m not registered at PJTV so I can’t watch the clip, but that sounds like he’s opposed in principle to the idea of independent war reporting — or at least, “independent” reporting that won’t reliably report things exactly the way the military would like. Yon, Totten, Johannes, and Roggio are all unambiguously pro-western but none of them, I’m sure, would agree to that, especially someone like Yon who’s warned for years that Afghanistan’s falling to pieces.
Anyway, here’s Rick’s Olbermann impression.

“Rick Sanchez dumps all over Joe the Plumber”
I thought this was a gay porn thread!

I liked Scarborough’s Keef impression better.
fiatboomer on January 14, 2009 at 9:13 PM
Sanchez has always been an unbearable twit who has obvious mental aberrations suffering from deep liberal syndrom.
wepeople on January 14, 2009 at 9:16 PM
Dirty Sanchez is just pissed more people know who JTP is.
JammieWearingFool on January 14, 2009 at 9:16 PM
Someone made a point on Instapundit that the media sure was more exercised about JTP problems with taxes then the future Treasury Secretary. Why do you think that is? Rhetorically speaking.
Cindy Munford on January 14, 2009 at 9:20 PM
Sanchez is just pissed that even a plumber from Ohio can do a better job at reporting than he can.
Dreadnought223 on January 14, 2009 at 9:21 PM
This may as good a thread as any to point out a JTP reference on Sean Hannity’s program this afternoon.
JTP was investigated by partisan Democrats for the merest hint that he didn’t pay taxes. Leftists like Allah think it insignificant that the man nominated for the Treasury (and in charge of the IRS) is a tax cheat. JTP was essentially considered guilty by the left by the mere fact that he embarrassed the filthy bastard about to take power.
Now, as the new regime takes over, leftists and Obama apologists demand we ignore a real tax cheat’s actions as inconsequential despite the fact that, if confirmed, he would have to prosecute himself (had he not paid off his tax bill day before the nomination as part of the deal to get the job).
In short the vetting of JTP and Sarah Palin should be the kind of vetting that any of filthy bastard’s nominations go through including Hillary Clinton. I’m guessing that none of them would stand the scrutiny despite Allah’s best efforts to put all these people into places of power in his misguided attempt to purge America of Christians by hiring only the most secular of the secular humanists.

The braying ass “dirty” Sanchez rears his ugly head again.
Qt 2:13, Sanchez says that McCain and Palin made Joe famous. Got news for ya, rick…. wasn’t it his encounter with your beloved savior Obama that made him famous?
UltimateBob on January 14, 2009 at 9:22 PM
What an ass! That was completely unprofessional.
And, for the love of God, why can’t these jerks understand what a middle name is? Joe is short for Joseph, the man’s middle name. I go by my middle name and no one makes a big deal out of it. Good lord.
CP on January 14, 2009 at 9:22 PM
True. Plus, JTP lacks the ideological cred.

Correction
UltimateBob on January 14, 2009 at 9:24 PM
Sanchez is an embarrassment to the Cuban American community. BARF!
He hosted a radio show here in NYC in Spanish years ago RADIO WADO. The fool couldn’t speak Spanish and a lot of the callers had to correct his grammar. What an idiot.
He also had Jorge Ramos on the radio show to claim how O’Reilly is a racist. I suffered this idiot’s show in my part-time job because my boss had to hear the station.
GIVE ME RUSH! I begged, but people wonder why Hispanics vote overwhelmingly liberal. They listen to liberal garbage in Spanish.
I wish Ailes would do a Spanish version of Fox News.

BigWyo on January 14, 2009 at 9:25 PM
The moron can’t even read a telepromtor. The graphic read period, war is hell, not comma war is hell. It also seems that journalists are an extremely sensitive lot. He knows how many journalist were killed, but does he know how many innocent school girls were killed last year.
It seems that news is all about the people reporting it and not the actual events themselves. This guy is acting like a homecoming queen, getting competition for the prom.
Tommy_G on January 14, 2009 at 9:25 PM
To be fair, Sanchez visited my petting zoo with his lovely wife and children a couple of weeks ago; he seemed a very charming man.
radjah shelduck on January 14, 2009 at 9:27 PM
Didn’t he run some one over??
I think that everyone he ever talks to on air should just right away say ‘Wait, didn’t you kill some one when you were drunk or something?’
BigWyo on January 14, 2009 at 9:28 PM
Rick Sanchez takes a dump.
Rick Sanchez speaks.
I can’t tell the difference. How about you?

Stir up the dirty sanchez’ lol…..let’s roll.
ex-Democrat on January 14, 2009 at 9:28 PM
And don’t forget JTP also lacks a Journalism degree from a suitably liberal collage.
Dreadnought223 on January 14, 2009 at 9:30 PM
Pound for pound Joe has done more honest and responsible reporting on Obama than any 12 members of the MSM. And all from his front yard.

Because JTP is not smart enough to make simple, honest errors. You have to be really smart and important to make mistakes.
Weight of Glory on January 14, 2009 at 9:35 PM
And this is the best that CNN has got…?
d1carter on January 14, 2009 at 9:35 PM
Notice how he had to read it slowly and say the commas … to, you know, comma, dumb it down or something.
(on an up note for Ricky, he’ll be able to do lots of “ers” and “uhs” and “you knows” with our next President)
So anyway, he is trying to say that Joe is the “obnoxious guy” who scarfs down free food and hates everything and everybody? Huh.
No, Richard, I don’t think you do know who Joe is.
eucher on January 14, 2009 at 9:35 PM
Even a complete douchebag like Sanchez can be a nice person once in a while, especially when his family is around.
Nonetheless, he is a loathesome little prick.

On the other hand…’I wonder why our advertising on CNN has good ratings but doesn’t really correlate with our sales?’
On the other hand, since Dick is ‘calling Joe out’, I’d really like to see them meet face to face and see Dick get that smug smirk knocked off his face.
Courage!!!

So,let me get this straight!
In 2003,while the sh#t was hitting the fan in Bagdad,

and yet,
the American Main Stream News were accusing
President Bush, that he was deliberately targetting
the “JOURNALISTS” by the United States Military!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soooommmeebooooddyyyy wants their own show, and who better to emulate to impress liberal producers than the Olberfreak.
As for being forced to watch CNN at airports, if you bring along a Ninja Remote, all sorts of things can happen. The feeds are basically from a video server, but you can at least turn off the tv itself or mute it.
Loads of fun in restaurants too.

Tommy_G on January 14, 2009 at 9:53 PM
no. that’s pure rick.
say, isn’t he the one who ran down a pedestrian in his car while drunk, left the scene and continued home where the police found him still drinking, and he claimed that he started drinking when he got home to “settle his nerves”?
i think it is.
eh on January 14, 2009 at 9:58 PM
As usual, Rick Sanchez misses the point…………
………. anyone remember in one of the first battles of Fallujah, the military purposely leaked what they were going to do, knowing, that the “Media” would plaster it all over the air waves?
Our military had set up counter surveillance to see what the “bad guys” would do……….
…….. once the cat was out of the bag, the “Media” screamed like a stuck pig on being “tricked”, and fell all over themselves in defense of them broadcasting United States Military intentions, movements, and strategy.
Unfortunately, soldiers are killed by the “Media” publishing what they “think” is journalism, along with propaganda from our enemies in light of “political correctness”……….
……….. in my opinion, this is what “Joe” was trying to say, and of course, Rick Sanchez doesn’t have a clue.

duggersd on January 14, 2009 at 10:06 PM
I trust JTP more than this guy to say what he believes because JTP doesn’t have to care about job security. These “professional” reporters are always trying to say what they think people want to hear so they can keep their jobs. They’ve got no integrity.
JTP, even if he says stupid stuff, probably doesn’t care if PJMedia sends him on another gig.

And,right now, with the rocket attacks in Israel,

It’s just not bad……..
………… it’s worse.
They let “Political Ideology” influence their “professionalism”.
Imagine yourself a Navy SEAL, trying to come ashore in the dark of night with stealth, as to not give away your position, in a coordinated effort and what do you find…..?
………….. “journalists” light you up with cameras and lights and start shouting questions at you.
Anyone else remember Somalia back in the day, and as a result, how all of this started………..?

Karl Rove described Obama as that guy that stands off to the corner at BBQ’s and makes snide comments about everyone else, and unfortunately, John McCain didn’t point out who that guy was. Joe, intuitively knowing an alias would come in handy, pointed out THAT ONE, is a socialist. Good on him. But there is a way to take on the media without treating it as an evil monolith like that statue in the attic in Exorcist. Everyone remembers how that movie ended.
chunderroad on January 14, 2009 at 10:30 PM
dirtz sanchez LITERALLY murdered another human. He must have alot of stress in his daily life. What a piece of trash.
ousoonerfan15 on January 14, 2009 at 10:36 PM
CNN? Who cares what they say? Even those in airports mostly ignore it.
Probably not so much. Since all the jihadis are using right now is unguided rockets and basically doing shoot and move (alright, shoot and run for their lives before the hellfire missile gets them), knowledge of where a rocket has landed would be pretty useless since they don’t have a repeatable process. However, it is useful to them to provide bomb damage assessment to see how well they’ve done. It scores propaganda points and probably emboldens them some.

Well, I’ll be damned. You know, I was ignoring this whole thing because it seemed like some sort of sideshow, but I think I’m now an official JTP fan. Not because he is setting a new standard for unbiased reporting (he most certainly isn’t), but because CNN hates him.

Isn’t that the truth. I would much more be inclined to listen to what Joe has to say than the blow hards that are trying to impress us with how important they are. Yon and Totten I’ll respect. I do remember watching the newsreel news at the theater as a youngster, that told us about the wars in general, where we were winning, and where we were losing. You know I don’t recall any reporter that wasn’t rooting for us. What a difference from then to now.
In a way I feel sorry for all of you that are younger, you have missed the freedoms and patriotism that I grew up with. I’m not saying that you don’t have patriotism, it is just much different now.

Is the Wiki entry on Rick Sanchez correct?
Rick Sanchez, (as per Wiki) born July 1958, son of Cuban political exiles who came to the US in the 1950s. Grew up in Hialeah, Florida, attended Mae M. Walters Elementary School.
So, Rick was a child when his family came to the US.
What, exactly, does Rick know about life under Castro?
It looks like he knows a lot about life in Hialeah, Florida.
.
Rick seems unduly sanctimonious about Joe the Reporter. Rick’s personal history, particularly events of December 10, 1990, really leave him unqualified.
Again from Wiki:
…
“… an intoxicated Rick Sanchez, driving his Volvo, struck an intoxicated pedestrian, Jeffrey Smuzinick, who had just run into the street and into the direct path of Sanchez’s car. Sanchez initially stopped his car but then left the scene.”
…
“Sanchez was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in the December 10, 1990 accident, which police stated he left the scene after hitting Smuzinick and then returned. However prosecutors decided not to charge Sanchez with causing bodily injury while driving drunk, which is a third-degree felony in Florida. Sanchez ultimately pleaded no contest to the drunk driving charge and he never attempted to provide restitution to Jeffrey Smuzinick or to Smuzinick’s family for the 5 years of mounting medical bills that Sanchez’s accident caused.”
“Jeffrey Smuzinick died October 30, 1995 in a Pennsylvania nursing home due to complications resulting from the injuries caused in the accident where he was struck by Rick Sanchez’s vehicle. The accident left Smuzinick in a coma for months, permanently paralyzed, and severely physically and mentally disabled.”
(bold mine)
Is this, then, the type of individual the media considers “respectable”, “believable”, “trustable”, ……….
Read the entire Wiki entry, particularly the words attrributed to Rick’s lawyer.
It sounds like Rick has some ’splainin’ to do (and maybe a bill or two to pay).
Arbalest on January 15, 2009 at 12:23 AM
Well that was banal in its common-sense and accuracy.
But let’s ignore that and instead focus on ad hominems and non sequiturs.

Dadvocate on January 15, 2009 at 12:52 AM
Have you seen the missiles (Qassams) and the launchers (nonadjustable crudely welded frames)? There’s not a whole lot to calibrate — they have at least a couple of degrees of probable error in both azimuth and elevation. The nozzles of the missiles are basically a pattern of holes drilled into a flange; they are very low tech. Finally, there’s no inertial guidance system like there is in a Scud; these are artillery missiles. These missiles are truly terrorist weapons — their very inaccuracy makes them so.
Hence, what the media is providing is not “actionable intelligence” allowing better aiming but rather a morale boost whenever one of the missiles gets lucky.

“I want to share with you the thoughts of Samuel Wurzelbacher – you know, Joe… the Plumber.” I believe the message was to leave the reportage to the “journalists.” It’s pretty clear to anyone with half a brain that our media has been co-opted by the intelligence community, and the plumber can butt out. (Pun intended.)

Allah
I wonder. You show so much deference to so many disingenuous in the MSM and yet are incapable of applying the sam standard to average Joe’s?
How can you EVER, Allah, justify showing a fauxtogtaphy with a straight face after?
