…And the sun rises in the east once more

Osama bin Laden has a new message out today, but it’s no different than most of his other messages.   The original Islamist One-Note Osama urges jihad against Israel for the 437th time, and condemned Arab governments who recognize Israel for the 436th time:

Al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden urged Muslims to launch a jihad against Israel and condemned Arab governments as allies of the Jewish state in a new message aimed at harnessing anger in the Mideast over the Gaza offensive.

Bin Laden spoke in an audiotape posted Wednesday on Islamic militant Web sites where al-Qaida usually issues its messages. It was his first tape since May and came nearly three weeks after Israel started its campaign against Gaza’s militant Hamas rulers.

“There is only one strong way to bring the return of Al-Aqsa and Palestine, and that is jihad in the path of God,” bin Laden said in the 22-minute audiotape, referring to the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. “The duty is to urge people to jihad and to enlist the youth into jihad brigades.” …

The tape, entitled “Call for jihad to stop the aggression on Gaza,” was played over a still picture of bin Laden and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City, one of Islam’s holiest sites. But there were no English subtitles and flashy production effects that usually accompany such messages.

The lack of English subtitles again calls into question the status of Adam Gadahn, also known as Azzam al-Amriki, or as we like to call him, Fat Bastard.  Gadahn used to supply the English subtitles on tapes from Osama and Ayman al-Zawahiri, but mysteriously stopped doing so a year ago.  Rumors swirled that Gadahn had been killed in an airstrike, and the same rumors began to arise in September when Gadahn missed his chance to gloat over the anniversary of 9/11.  However, he did turn up in October to gloat over the economic crisis in the West, and nothing much has been heard since then.  Maybe even AQ got fed up with its resident geek and put him to work doing something else, although Gadahn hasn’t ever had the guts to actually participate in an attack.

Otherwise, this is nothing more than a rerun, with its only significance being the confirmation of bin Laden’s existence.  We haven’t gotten him yet, but on the other hand, he hasn’t been an issue, either.

Not to worry. Obama will have him within 100 days.

Still, there is something about which I wonder. Obama is reportedly adamant about not torturing anyone, but he’s willing to kill Bin Laden.

Hmmm……..

A sure sign that they are getting their butt whipped.

“The duty is to urge people to jihad and to enlist the youth into jihad brigades.”

Like in WWII and Germany, that is all they have left, is the youth.
Come on down Osama and lead the fight, God will protect you…

So you’re saying that The One is a little wuss who wouldn’t have the balls to go after a dog who pooped on his front stoop, much less a terrorist leader? I pretty much agree with that…..

FYI – I’m guessing Osama is dead. And has been for a long time. No one will be able to find his body because of the massive massive amounts of caves in Pakistan/Afghanistan.

By the by, isn’t the UN force betwixt Israel and the “Lebanese guerrillas” supposed to stop rocket attacks on Israel’s citizens???? ‘Cause they aren’t doing their job (shocker, i know).

El Coqui on January 14, 2009 at 9:12 AM

Yeah… Even Al Qaeda has gotten tired of Fat Bastard’s incoherent mumblings against capitalism and Rage Against the Machine/ bitter high school junior based political philosophy. I’m sure Bin Laden’s happy that he can get back to preaching waton murder and 7th century Sharia law instead of having to add in Gadhan’s incoherent liberal ramblings meant to resemble the political beliefs of the average Kos diarist.

This cannot be true. With The Messiah’s coronation, guns will go silent; America will, once again…since Carter’s reign, be loved.

Dingbat63 on January 14, 2009 at 9:14 AM

Dispatches from the spider hole. Lovely.

Also, there are a lot of Fat Bastards in the world, Ed, so I think a more appropriate moniker would be Fat Traitorous Bastard. That would cut the list of possibles down to Gadahn and Michael Moore.

To me the funny thing here is he is calling for the exact same thing the left is. I just don’t think they get the irony of agreeing with Osama.

profgubler on January 14, 2009 at 9:26 AM

I have thought about the redundant one, from time to time. He really wants people to pay attention to him, he wants to be relevant somehow because his goons accidentally managed to bring down the twin towers. I say accidentally because he is seen laughing about how he didn’t expect that on video. What is “Bin in Over my Head for Sometime Now”….really? A left over from the cold war. Really that is all he is, and he is trying to recapture his glory days when he was fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan. Why he isn’t dispatched from the obscure location, he is mounting “audio” clip assaults, is beyond my comprehension. We don’t know where he is, and we can’t do anything about his activities? I have some beach front property in Utah for Sale.

(Morrissey)

No. The significance of this is that regardless of the fantasy of the left, including the MSM, the Jihad will continue despite the election of Obama. Gee. Bush wasn’t the cause of Jihad after all. Perhaps at some point the MSM will get around to examining the cause of Jihad- the tenets of that religion.

The al-Qaida leader also vowed that the terror network would open “new fronts” against the United States and its allies beyond Iraq and Afghanistan. He said President-elect Barack Obama has received a “heavy inheritance” from George W. Bush — two wars and “the collapse of the economy,” which he said will render the United States unable to sustain a long fight against the mujahedeen, or holy warriors.

Basilsbest on January 14, 2009 at 9:43 AM

Why does the tape only show a STILL picture of Bin Laden? Maybe because Bin Laden can’t move anymore…

Has the CIA analyzed the voice on the tape yet? It might be that of an al Qaeda henchman aware of the current Israeli attack on Gaza, while Bin Laden himself may be flirting with 72 virgins in Hades.

Anybody interested in if or how he got away should read “Kill bin Laden” by Dalton Fury.

Tony737 on January 14, 2009 at 11:02 AM

When Bush picked Bin Laden as the enemy and made up the name AQ to shield his Saudi friends and generally defend Islam, he didn’t chose wisely. To blame the War on WTF on a “radical” Osama and not the demands of the ideology Islam, is a bit of a stretch now.

As long as the policy is to protect Islam and Muslims from scrutiny we will continue to lose as we are now.

BL@KBIRD on January 14, 2009 at 11:06 AM

As long as people believe Bin Laden is alive and out in the hinterland, Islam escapes attention as the source of evil.

e-pirate on January 14, 2009 at 8:56 AM

Bush has always used the “we” word when referring to action against bin Laden. “We” go on beyond the end of Bush’s Administration. I notice that Mr. Obama has also put great store on getting bin Laden (which is why he is not saying he’s going to leave Afghanistan, and has said he will invade Pakistan if necessary), so hopefully the continuity is in place to continue this policy.

unclesmrgol on January 14, 2009 at 11:10 AM

@ BL@KBIRD

Bush didn’t pick bin Laden. bin laden chose himself when he declared war on the Unites States. Without support from the American public Bush had a difficult enough time waging war on al Qaeda in Iraq.

It is clueless to suggest he should have waged war on Saudi Arabia and Islam at the same time. You are correct that Islam needs to be scrutinized but Bush had enough on his plate. He was accused of trying to start a war on Islam as it was.

Its obviously not an easy undertaking. If anyone can get this goof, its us. What is getting me is the sympathy people are having for the 9/11 suspects tortured at Gitmo. For one, I hope the ones that got released were tagged in some way, and two where’s the sympathy for the 3000+ pepople slaughtered on 9/11? I’d say beat the information out of those ’suspects’, tag their asses and relsease them back into the wild with cruise missles programmed to go after the tags in about a month after that.

To add to the below rebuttal El Coqui had for e-pirate:

Remember when Clinton could had gotten this bastard twice without any fuzz and didn’t before 9/11?

El Coqui on January 14, 2009 at 9:12 AM

I’d like to add that Clintoon was so busy playing hide the cigar with Monica (and lord knows how many other interns) as well as covering for his other indiscretions (not to mention tarnishing the Oval Office and the image of the office of the president) he continually allowed our enemies to plot against us ultimately leading to 9-11. I realize all the left-tards insist “9-11 happened on Bush’s watch” but the truth of the matter is (as El Coqui alluded to) Clintoon had several opportunities to kill Osama and failed to do so, and for several reasons.

First, Clintoon is an affirmed pacifist and hates anything to do with the military, secondly he gutted our military and intelligence agencies (how else did he manage to have that huge budget surplus he was always bragging about) and of course as I mentioned above he was so busy playing hide the cigar and covering up his indiscretions he effectively ensured AQ’s 9-11 plot would be successful.

So while Bush didn’t get Osama during his 8 years in office Clintoon didn’t either despite literally having Osama in the sites of a smart bomb and a country willing to hand Osama over to Clintoon on a silver platter.
So e-pirate, based on the above why should any of us think for one minute “peace and love Obambi” would be any more successful at getting Osama than GWB?

Bullsh*t.
OBL has been dead for a long time, probably since November 2001.
President Bush’s legacy is a fine, pride one.
And as a last classy little touch, the First Lady will *not* be stealing the silverware and the furniture from the White House nor will the Bush Administration staff trash their offices and take all the “O”s off the keyboards nor will President Bush issue pardons on a war and tax criminal like Marc Rich because his wife visited the WH with big bundles of cash.

Excellent points Jen,I remember when I heard they pulled that crap. I wasn’t surprised at what they did considering how Slick Willy and the Clintoons demeaned and sullied the office of the president during their 8 years instead I was shocked and appalled at their brazen classless ways, but again not surprised.

I do have a question for you though, why did they remove all of the “O”s from the keyboards?

Liberty or Death on January 14, 2009 at 3:46 PM

I think OBL may very well still live. If “war is deception” then we should expect him to not reveal himself unnecessarily to the enemy.

Liam1304 on January 14, 2009 at 3:46 PM

Of course it is a rerun. He is Dead, Ed. Has been for a long time. Hell, the voice on this one isn’t even vaguely like Osama’s.

So many people have a vested interest in ‘keeping Osama alive’ because their varying agenda require the personification of the ‘invulnerable terrorist mastermind’ that few people will admit the obvious.

I can understand why the politicians and bureaucrats want to make people think that he is alive. The ’spooks’ want to ‘keep him alive’ so that their ‘find Bin Laden’ budget won’t be cut. And of course the Bush haters want him to be alive so that they can say Bush failed on his biggest promise.

But it is absolutely beyond me to understand why good conservative journalists and commentators want to perpetuate this nonsense.

Especially when Zawahiri IS still alive. HE is the mastermind. HE is the dangerous one. Osama’s relevance became nil the day his money was cut off.

LegendHasIt on January 14, 2009 at 3:59 PM
