Video: Pelosi masters YouTube in two days

posted at 6:06 pm on January 13, 2009 by Allahpundit

Yes, this really does come from the Office of the Speaker. First thing she’s ever done that I’ve liked.

Watch the whole clip or you won’t appreciate her grasp of the medium.

Certainly better than looking at her ugly mug. I wonder if she her interns are trying to make her hip and cool like The O

They don’t want to admit how much win this has.

But I’ll throw in a caveat; it was her staff.

- The Cat

P.S. I actually, “She didn’t,” Click click, “She did!”

MirCat on January 13, 2009 at 6:11 PM

Crap! It’s bad enough that she’s SotH. But this is much, much worse!

mcg on January 13, 2009 at 6:12 PM

Wait wait, this is a Metaphor for Obama’s election then Presidency.

Because she’s a Vampire. An old timey clown vampire.

MirCat on January 13, 2009 at 6:15 PM

I hate it when people link to a Rick Astley video and I get Pelosi cats. I’ve been Pelosirolled.

lowandslow on January 13, 2009 at 6:15 PM

Is anyone else growing incredibly tired of politicians, and others, using YouTube as a genuine medium? Can we end the YouTube craze yet?

Enoxo on January 13, 2009 at 6:17 PM

Did I just get…by Nancy Pelosi?

*shudder*

Gotta see the intro video HERE and be sure to check out the comments…

Oh, I didn’t even get to the rickroll portion of the video… I killed it within the first few seconds.

Yeah, as soon as the Cellphone Internet Color TV fad goes away.

mindhacker on January 13, 2009 at 6:30 PM

You know, there is a war in Gaza, Obarfy is going to appoint a tax cheat for Treasury Secretary, moron Franken is petitioning the MN supreme court to bypass Minnesota election laws….and we get this stupid thread?

Bishop on January 13, 2009 at 6:30 PM

Comments have been disabled on the Welcome to Congress vid that they want us to respond to with our own ideas. Priceless.

ctmom on January 13, 2009 at 6:33 PM

Cats staring into space + Rick Astley = 6 million guaranteed views on YouTube

It’s almost a magic formula…

ScottMcC on January 13, 2009 at 6:33 PM

Pelosi Galore, now on TV. Just like the Hugo Chavez show.

“her grasp”

Right.

DOOMED

kirkill on January 13, 2009 at 6:36 PM

So the moral of this story is that Pilosi leads to Obama that leads to cats that leads to rick rolling ?

America going downhill at warp speed

William Amos on January 13, 2009 at 6:40 PM

Okay, y’know how when you came across some super-cool fad when you were a teenager, and then your parents thought it was cool too and started doing it, and then you realized how super-UNcool the fad really was…?

This.

I’m assuming this is a James Bond reference.

Buford Gooch on January 13, 2009 at 6:45 PM

Now that I put more thought into it, I think it speaks volumes on how they’re going to run the country. That’s right folks, Pelosi and house Dems plan to prank America with old tired ideas.

Lay-Z on January 13, 2009 at 6:45 PM

AP, you’re going to hell. Even though you don’t believe in it.

Splashman on January 13, 2009 at 6:51 PM

Can’t believe they had to tell people to google “rick roll”.

The cats are cute, but what’s with the cheesy music video clip?

Disturb the Universe on January 13, 2009 at 6:14 PM

Or, maybe that was right.

Tzetzes on January 13, 2009 at 6:52 PM

I prefer the Jingle Cats.

madmonkphotog on January 13, 2009 at 6:53 PM

ROTFL!!!

I love it when people in their late 50s and 60s who have never used a computer start messing with youtube.

watson007 on January 13, 2009 at 6:55 PM

Kind of old by now, but still awesome…

Obama Covers Astley

If you want cats, there’s of course the lol gang. For all sorts of animals, this site is overladen with cuteness.

I can’t believe I’m posting such stuff on a blog about politics, but then again it was the Speaker of the House of Representatives that started it… (“O tempora, o mores!”)

Tzetzes on January 13, 2009 at 6:56 PM

Ha!! Proof that cats and Rick Astley would be better leaders than the ones we have.

izoneguy on January 13, 2009 at 6:59 PM

If not for Hot Air I wouldn’t have known that I had been rick-rolled.

thomasaur on January 13, 2009 at 7:02 PM

What the hell was that; and who paid for it?

RedSoxNation on January 13, 2009 at 7:04 PM

This is just the first of many pranks the dems will pull…God help us.

I have a feeling that this video is a precursor to what is about to come……………

………… especially if she gets her way.

Seven Percent Solution on January 13, 2009 at 7:33 PM

Sorry mates, but being an ex sailor, I’d hit it, film it, and then post it up all tasty on U tube and call myself a STUD!

GlocknRoll on January 13, 2009 at 8:01 PM

I’m still trying to figure out if this is epic win or epic fail.

OneGyT on January 13, 2009 at 8:04 PM

My friend, this is win. So very win.

malan89 on January 13, 2009 at 8:16 PM

Thanks for that, Nanny.

jgapinoy on January 13, 2009 at 8:21 PM

This video is representative of how Pelosi’s congress has metaphorically rick-rolled the American people, er something.

Anyway, isn’t this the same Pelosi who tried to ban Congress members from posting items on third-party websites just last summer?

CP on January 13, 2009 at 8:23 PM

I don’t like cats and I don’t have the foggiest idea who
Rick Astley is so I guess it’s off to bed for me. Seriously, that is one very strange video.

Ugh. She’s icky on so many levels.

eucher on January 13, 2009 at 9:33 PM

Watch the whole clip or you won’t appreciate her grasp of the medium.

You don’t honestly believe she even had the slightest hand in this? In fact I think it’s more likely than not that she’s completely unaware of it… But in the off chance she is aware, it was because she was briefed by handlers so she could respond if asked a question about it.

RightWinged on January 13, 2009 at 9:43 PM

I really have no interest in anything this complete idiot has to do with, I’m still astonished that a woman this so obviously corrupt and worthless has power over the lives of my family and I.

The only video of this dingbat I want to see is her being hurled bodily from office. Notify me when the video is posted that shows her unceremoniously cascading down the Capitol Steps and I’ll tune in.

NoDonkey on January 13, 2009 at 9:46 PM

Oh my god….

jimmy the notable on January 13, 2009 at 10:33 PM

A silly video compared to a puffed up one dealing with how self-important she believes she is. Good clip. Some of you would complain if she saved one of those kitties from a tree, give her a break.

koolbrease on January 13, 2009 at 11:16 PM

She would have cats. I am so not surprised. Crazy cat lady.

Not the best rick roll ever, but a decent one. :)

Christina D on January 13, 2009 at 11:55 PM

I guess a FOIA request to see how much this cost taxpayers is in order.

Jason Coleman on January 14, 2009 at 1:01 AM

Ceiling Cat is not amused.

Wanderlust on January 14, 2009 at 1:33 AM

That dried up hag! Vaseline wouldn’t help her either! Like I want to go to youtube and watch a bunch of idiots…….How exciting……..Now I have to go barf!

sheebe on January 14, 2009 at 1:54 AM

Terrible… just terrible…

My friend, this is win. So very win.

malan89 on January 13, 2009 at 8:16 PM

nope this is anti-lulz. this is the second death of an undead meme which was killed the first time when tay zonday sung never gonna give you up. and a third when ashtley rickrolled the entire nation formally and in person at the macy’s thanksgiving day celebration.

http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/9/90/Memesclosedjpg.jpg

this is about a “in” and consequently potent as the butterscotch candies in your grandma’s purse.

this is utilitarian. by ensuring the views that this clip is sure to get, her media coordinator has effectively primed the channel to be the top result for anything pelosi-related.

alas, it remains to be the case that speaker pelosi is the master of mere sh*t and vileness.

eh on January 14, 2009 at 6:54 AM

hahaha AP, I thought it was funny.

becki51758 on January 14, 2009 at 8:05 AM

Crazy cat lady… DO NOT WANT!

BKennedy on January 14, 2009 at 9:32 AM

I thought it was funny….

KCB on January 14, 2009 at 9:58 AM

The best part was the music for the first half of the video. The rest of it was pretty bad.

Nevertheless, Allahpundit is quite right that she has a full grasp on the medium. Sticking random clips together seems enough to make any YouTube movie worthy of watching…in the eyes of the YT public anyway…

Aronne on January 14, 2009 at 11:45 AM

And the point is?

CynicalOptimist on January 14, 2009 at 12:34 PM

When the crazy, left-wing Speaker of the House Rick-Rolls, you know the Rick-Rolling has definitely….JUMPED THE SHARK.

cryptojunkie on January 14, 2009 at 3:41 PM

The ultimate rickrolling win was the epic rickrolling of the Mets. Astley is dead to me now.
