Video: Coulter appearance on “The View” goes exactly as you’d expect

Eight and a half minutes of contentious cross-talk, most of it dwelling on a proposition that even the left is grudgingly coming around on. Do note Sherri’s admonition towards the end about tone. Whoopi didn’t seem too worried about that recently when she wondered aloud vis-a-vis Coulter whether the carpet matches the drapes. Behar called her a “bitch” at the same event, a slight Coulter really shouldn’t take personally: Joy dropped the same insult on Michelle in 2007. And then took John McCain to task for not objecting to it when someone dropped it on Hillary soon after. Of course.

Blowback

Every Eisenhower and Grant needs a Patton or Sherman to go down in the trenches, do the dirty work, and win. Ann Coulter happens to be that type of warrior and is very good at it. Ultimate victory requires a total defeat of the enemy. Reagan and Rush provide a solid, conservative perspective. Ann leads the war on the ground where it counts and succeeds in the hand to hand combat. When she lists facts the only response is to ask multiple questions, shout louder and more often, and prevent her from saying anything. Ann knows this and goes into battle well prepared and holds her own better than anyone.

Very late to this but oy – that was painful to watch. Uninformed left wingers questioning the controversy slut (not my term, but perfectly descriptive) herself, clearly without having read the book. I agree with some earlier posters in that I don’t think she’s nearly as informed or smart a pundit as she likes to portray, and her underlying message could be delivered in a more civil and effective manner, but it wouldn’t sell books. And IMHO, Coulter is mcfugly. But she’s smart enough to be able to play the left, right and media like a fiddle.

RED ALERT -

She’s coming on O’Reilly to debate a Conservative Actress – Janine Turner – from Friday Night Lights regarding Coulter’s single mother guffaw.

AprilOrit on January 13, 2009 at 8:11 PM

Bingo -

I was right – Bill said her book accuses woman like Janine Turner and Laura Ingraham and Hollywood actresses of glorifying single motherhood.

Let’s hope O’Reilly brings Laura Ingraham into the debate, I would like to see her kick Coulter’s butt.

Behar is a T.N.U.C.

I’m watching that clip and I only see this!

Kini on January 13, 2009 at 12:40 AM

Funny.

Or, this . . .

Gee, isn’t Behar a Grand Funk Railroad fan?

Trochilus on January 13, 2009 at 9:50 PM

Yup esthier. Winning friends and influencing people on the internet…boring work day, so anything to liven it up a bit.

dakine on January 13, 2009 at 6:04 PM

I only wish I didn’t understand that statement word for word.

I was forced to write a description for Obama’s inauguration parade on Monday. So far it’s gone downhill from that.

COULTER ON “THE VIEW”: Speaking truth to powder.

I have never, ever been able to stand Ann Coulter, but watching the way she is treated with such bald contempt as she goes onto these shows (where she is an invited guest!) makes me root for her a little bit. It also makes me understand and sympathize more with how rageful she is.

So good job the View, Matt Lauer, et al! Thanks to you guys, I think Ann’s going to sell another book.

Coulter is tough (and very hot.)

Yup, and she is Mc-Gorgeous! The conservative women in this

debate just looked beautiful…

I caught the Janine turner episode on O’reilly and this is a perfect case study in liberalism
She writes a book about single mothers and uses John Adam’s wife as an example who raised four kids. (John adams wife was married to John Adams the whole time)
She can not refute one fact from Ann’s book. she did not even try really, just said oh ann sounds mean.
Janine is perfectly nice person but complete airhead.

kangjie on January 14, 2009 at 9:40 AM

Four libs against Ann is not enough. She still kicked their commie butts.

Do I need new glasses? I don’t see her being attractive. At all. She’s a sharp cookie, but not attractive. Laura Ingraham however, is holding it together pretty well. She’s a looker.

AprilOrit on January 13, 2009 at 8:17 PM

Laura obviously would get that Ann is really putting down the liberal exaltation and promotion of single motherhood. If Ann simply stated this as I have, no one would read her books. So she gets her point across to a much larger audience by making it seem like she is putting down all single mothers, which is not really the case. I believe Laura and Ann would have no real disagreement on the real issue. When one really reads Ann’s books instead of just the criticisms of Ann’s books, one can see her excellent points and the research/footnotes to back them up.
One final point: no one (not even Laura) kicks Ann’s behind.

And another thing, what is this garbage with annointing all women sainthood simply because they got knocked up. Stray cats do it all the time. What is it about having a uterus which makes the gender beyond reproach?

For the record I am married and have 2 kids.

ClassicCon on January 13, 2009 at 3:37 PM

Right on!

I am SSSSSOOOOO sick and tired of the whole ‘women are good’ ‘men are bad’ schtick. It is BS. Women are just as f’in sinful as men, only the sins tend to be different but just as numerous.

I’m sick of that holier-than-thou attitude you see by leftist women and it is even creeping into moderate and conservative circles.

Why am I divorced today? Because I made the mistake of marrying a mean, bitter, unforgiving, compassionless, cranky, irritable, blaming, uncommunicative, cruel, beligerent, witch. My ex is not outright evil, but believes she has no faults as the faults are SSSOOO evident. At least I know I have faults. Humility is a virtue for a reason, but you just don’t see it as much by females in the USA as much anymore.
