We’re fine. People here have called me a whore before. That went too far. You didn’t.

I have no regrets, my Dad is an excellent man and role model, he is the best father I could have ever had, any decision he made were made in my best interest, as always.

That’s a good way to look back on these things. So many parents introduce their children to that industry and are very clearly not looking out for anyone but themselves.

Arcade Fire has a song about it (it’s mostly about Jessica Simpson’s father). It’s called (AntiChrist Television Blues).

The band’s pretty anti-religion in general, but they nailed that one so far as I can see.

I don’t remember it being scary at all though. Too bad your father didn’t let you get that one.

What role would you have gone for? That one female vampire?

The role of Star, which was cast with Jami Gertz. My father read the script, saw the sketches/storyboards of the make up and nixed it immediately.

He thought it was too inappropriate, the whole vampire thing. But looking back I may have been too young to be cast anyway, they were looking at girls in a range, more in her age group and younger. abcurtis doesn’t get it, it’s over his/her head, I am not even going to go back over it. Some people feel Hollywood = Liberal and therefore it’s there for their hating & bashing.

Meanwhile it’s a major business that contributes to our economy in a big way.

She’s not. I frequently disagree with her, but she’s not a liberal. I’m not saying that to defend her but just to be honest.

I saw that one years after it came out. It was the favorite movie of a good friend of mine. We watched it during a sleepover, and I’ve always looked back fondly on it.

I don’t remember it being scary at all though. Too bad your father didn’t let you get that one.

What role would you have gone for? That one female vampire?

Why? Because they decided to play a provactive role to hon their craft – their way of making a living?

Oh please. Actors stand where somebody else tells them to stand, wear what somebody else tells them to wear, do what sombody else tells them to do, regurgitate what somebody else has written for them. This is a craft? Spouting foul language is honing that “craft”? Plumbing is a craft, carpentry is a craft. Acting is trying to make somebody believe you are something you are not (See Obama). That bunch couldnt make a living in a pie shop biting holes in donuts for Pete’s sake.
And what is “provactive” btw? And shouldnt “hon” be “hone”? You dont even know proper spelling and punctuation and you’re here lecturing us? You do have nerve if nothing else.

Liberal stand-up comics are the same, most of them rely on the fact that the phrase “fuck Bush” (or similar) will cause any young, hip audience to explode in cheers and cries of “yeah!”

It’s a bit like working a crowd of stoners. All you have to do is mention driving to the store at 3am for Twinkies and they’re immediately doubled up with laughter. Hey, he’s talking about getting stoned! It’s illegal, but he’s saying it! Ha! We’re living on the edge!

My Dad would not even permit me to read for The Lost Boys, which was a vampire movie starring Keifer Sutherland, Corey Feldman and Coey Haim, directed by Joel Schumacher. I often wonder what would have been on that one. LOL

But there were a ton of lowend ones back then that were very cheap and gory. These were very easy to get hired into.

There were a ton of roles for horror and my parents would not allow me to do that kind of work.

Good for them. The real world is scary enough, and depending on the age group you’re talking about, some of those films are merely about gore and sexuality. I don’t knock people for watching them, but I understand parents not wanting their daughter to participate in them.

That’s sad but seems to be typical of the environment there; another complaint of mine.

The business was saturated in my age group – there were people then honing their craft who are famous today.

I auditioned for a few movies but did allot of commercials and print. There were a ton of roles for horror and my parents would not allow me to do that kind of work.

I was confused as to my impact on your life.

It seems like everyone I met back then with any connection to that business – and on the coast especially – were big Reagan people. My Dad was selective about my jobs, maybe it was because of his influence that I didn’t meet any moonbats, I don’t know.

I got out of the business by more neccessity than accident, I got mono for a second time at 14 and my Mother flipped out, actually they both did, as I had already had it at 11 the first time.

I was bedridden and that was the end of the auditions. By the time I recovered I was forgotten, yesterday’s news.

Fair point esthier…the truth should suffice, so I’ll leave it at that.
