O’Reilly: I’m not going to “cheap-shot” Obama by second-guessing the stimulus

posted at 9:23 pm on January 12, 2009 by Allahpundit

Via CNS, I think he means he won’t judge the bill until the details are ironed out and a final version’s presented to the public. Is that right? Or is he suggesting that criticizing the stimulus in principle, as a wasteful or counterproductive expense, is necessarily a “cheap shot”?

Exit question: Dude?

Bill is a populist and will always toe the populist line. It really shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

csdeven on January 13, 2009 at 7:34 AM

You cannot speak like that to a sitting Congressman no matter how much of a stuttering fool he is.

Excuse me? Barney Frank needs to be shot right as he “sits”. Do you feel the same way about “sitting” governors? Like, say Blago? or mayors like Kwame? Just because you’ve been elected doesn’t mean shit anymore.

Ol Billy has not yet cleaned Barry’s shoe polish from his tounge and nose after the interview before the election.

Far be it from me to defend Bill, but he is looking to the future. He, as most of us knew, that ObaMcCarthy was a shoe in to be elected against McLame the balless coward. He is, as we all should be, giving Oslima enough rope to hang himself. (Which, as we all know, he will) Then he and the rest of us are in a position of moral superiority to criticize that Marxist scum and his militant whitey hating wife.

Bought and paid for. Never thought I’d see the day.

ErinF on January 13, 2009 at 7:58 AM

csdeven, sorry not buying it.

The only way Billy can be fed these days is if Barry is given an enema.

Jim708 on January 13, 2009 at 8:03 AM

Bill O’Reilly is a bold, fresh O’Reillyist, pure and simple. Which means nothing.

LOL!

When populism demands that Oslima be thrown under the bus, Bill will drive the bus.

Obama’s technique is re-defining words and meanings and re-defining history. Unfortunately it’s working on the youth.
He literally has undone JFK’s quote. I was talking to a teen the other day about this very thing and he quoted it in reverse.
Ask not what you can do… blah blah.

He knew the authentic quote when I correctd him by saying oh ya… ya that’s right… but nonetheless in his mind was the Obama version quote. More importantly the Obama context was already ingrained.

Bill O’Reilly is a “BLOVIATING FOOL”.

The fact his show is beating everyone else just shows how really stupid everyone else is.

CinC on January 13, 2009 at 9:00 AM

BillO actually said, “it’s my job to protect the citizens of this country” on tonight’s show! When did we hire him to be our national bodyguard? Pompous ass!

No – what he says is It’s my job to “protect the folks.” Like we’re some dumb idiots who need a self-aggrandizing blowheart to explain things to us.

I used to like BOR until the Geraldo/Malkin dustup when he never called Rivera on his bash but just told both of them to “play nice.” Geraldo was WRONG and BOR should have said so. He now has too much inane drivel that he tries to justify as bringing us the news. If I wanted gossip and smut I could watch the Insider. I also think he spends way too much time hawking his own books.

katiejane on January 13, 2009 at 9:00 AM

O’Reilly is just another MSM guy.

Totally full of his own self-importance.

notagool on January 13, 2009 at 9:08 AM

katy on January 13, 2009 at 8:56 AM

Just to clarify.. Obama never quoted JFK wrong. But his message is recreating a new context and twisting meanings. I know y’all got that I’m sure but didn’t want the lefties pooping their pants about this.

katy on January 13, 2009 at 9:26 AM

Bill O’Reilly is a “BLOVIATING FOOL”.

No… he’s a BLOVIATING TOOL. I haven’t watched his show since his first Obama interview (i.e., kiss-ass fest). Just another useless piece of MSM crapola! I predict his ratings will start to deteriorate soon since he has proven to be a mirror image of a CNN mouthpiece.

Hannity needs to start his own network. FoxSchmooze is done.

He’s definitely a bold, fresh pile.

whitetop on January 13, 2009 at 9:57 AM

As of last night’s Factor, Bill is using 60 Minutes as the source of authority to “prove I’m right about speculators” controlling the price of crude.
Mffft!
At first he was maddening. Now it’s hilarious.

whitetop on January 13, 2009 at 10:04 AM

I think BOR needs a few more lessons in economics before “BLOVIATING” to us.
First it’s oil speculators, now it’s Gov’t spending has to help, “if it’s targeted right”.

CinC on January 13, 2009 at 10:10 AM

Watching Bill carry on about the “eeeevil oil speculators” even after getting his clock cleaned on the topic by Stoessel (sic) and Neil Cavuto only illustrates how absolutely clueless he is about the way economies work. And the same CBS he delights in criticizing on other occasions he now holds up as a vindication of his idiocy? His ego knows no bounds, and the idea of me needing his “protection” from the forces of evil is nauseating.

I’ll still watch occasionally (I long ago stopped planning an evening around BO), and I agree with most of his social positions, but when he starts discussing the economy I actually get embarrassed for him and turn it off.

brushman on January 13, 2009 at 10:12 AM

Bill O’ reminds me of McCain on economics: neither understands it, but won’t admit it, so bloviate onward (see: McCain on stopping his campaign for the bailouts…what a maroon).

Narcissists ain’t too good at admitting ignorance.

Let’s roll.

NewsBusters

According to Sun-Times columnist and long-time Chicago journalist, Carol Marin, journalists at Barack Obama news conferences have come to realize that Obama has pre-picked those journalists whom he will allow to ask him questions at the conference and many of them now “don’t even bother raising” their hands to be called upon.

One wonders why journalists are allowing this corralling of the press? Would they have allowed George W. Bush to pre-pick journalists like that? Would they meekly sit by and allow themselves to be systematically ignored, their freedom to ask questions silenced by any Republican? Would journalists so eagerly vie with one another for the favor of Bush like they are Obama’s?

reshas1 on January 13, 2009 at 11:50 AM

This guy is becoming more and more transparent, he doesn’t want to piss off Obama in hopes of getting an interview.

KBird on January 13, 2009 at 12:16 PM

Bill…
…You’re Fired. You had plenty of fire to be a critic of the Bush administration but now that Mr. Hopenchange is in office you won’t dare be a critic.

I’m sorry, but whatever happened to ‘Loyal Opposition’?

Chaz706 on January 13, 2009 at 2:35 PM

Seems to me that the day he got the interview with the Bamster, he became an ally. Has been soft-pedaling criticism of the ONE ever since. But in spite of comments above saying that he’s washed up, the article about Hannity’s ratings show that O’Reilly is still getting more and still cleaning up vs. his competition. I echo a previous comment: it would be great to have Michelle in his time slot!
