Round two: Ziegler, Shuster yell at each over Palin again

posted at 2:20 pm on January 10, 2009 by Allahpundit

Why no showdown with Olby? Because Olby doesn’t have conservatives on, silly. That would give them a chance to fire back.

A nice point scored by Ziegler halfway through about the incentives big media creates for Republicans to bash Palin. You’ll be interested to know, incidentally, that the ‘Cuda has her first challenger for the governor’s seat in 2010: Bob Poe, a guy whom The Hill regards as a serious threat. True? We’ll see, but Baseball Crank is right that whoever emerges as nominee will be positively swimming in nutroots dough.

uh, yeah, terrified! please please please nominate her in 2012 so the GOP can officially die off….

Noneya on January 10, 2009 at 9:42 PM

Nominate her, or the caricature? She scares the pee out of the left. Thus the caricature.

ddrintn on January 10, 2009 at 9:46 PM

…and, um, thus your comments here in most Palin threads.

Liberty is not dead yet, but yes very ill.

We must find a way to displace “daddy gov” and bring a serously wounded “uncle sam” back to health.

*”uncle sam” = TED NUGENT in that outfit* = BRILLIANT!

If Palin has no chance at winning in 2012 or 2016, why the need to promote this Poe tool two years out? Why is this aim to defeat her so crucial. Poe will be promoted by every outlet starting now.

V15J on January 11, 2009 at 12:22 AM

Good luck to them with that. Poe is nothing but a career government tool and will probably be outspent by Palin on the order of 20-1 (assuming he wins the Democrat primary).

Palin has to be careful … even though I want to have enough money just in care

but she has to be careful of becoming the “machine” candidate

joey24007 on January 11, 2009 at 1:00 AM

should be “just in case”

joey24007 on January 11, 2009 at 1:00 AM

You just can’t call these people out on their intentions. That’s what makes them untouchable. I had an experience recently of this concept at it’s the lowest level. I ran into a discount store to grab something. Standing second in line I had earshot of the transaction before me. A couple was purchasing a few items, the cashier was bagging them up. They started to leave and the cashier stopped the woman by asking her if she was going to pay for the sunglasses in her hand. She replied that she had just bought them. “No, maám”, he said. “You paid $3 for the ones in your bag. The glasses in your hand are $6.” She tossed them back on the counter and announced, “No! I’m not paying for them, then.” The cashier wished them a good day at which point the lady turns around and tells the guy, “You, too, asshole.” Ugh! I told him the same thing I said here. “You’re not supposed to call them out, ya know.”
Thieves, robbers, rapists and murderers of the truth!

Why not talk about martin eisenstadt for a change..

the_nile on January 11, 2009 at 9:22 AM

Huh? We are supposed to ask Palin questions?

Like what was on the front page of the NYT that day?

I think we should ask the dope from Delaware. Why Joe would tell us the front page had a picture of Woodrow Wilson driving the new Escalade Hybrid. Then he would be asking why we can go Hybrid just like the 61st Amendment asks us to.

The One would want us to save our question and not waste it.

IlikedAUH2O on January 11, 2009 at 9:25 AM

The best question

Do the liberal frauds in the media ever consider what we bring up here?

That guy shoud do a special on how The One was treated.

IlikedAUH2O on January 11, 2009 at 9:27 AM

I found it almost comically amazing that people question Governor Palin’s “worldview” based on the notion that “she doesn’t read” newspaper

She writes op-ed for national newspapers!

what a crock the MSM and the RINOS are

if the only thing the dems have on Palin is that she doesn’t read newspapers

good grief …

joey24007 on January 11, 2009 at 10:24 AM

Goodness, MS-NBC think the media tear-down of Sarah Palin started after the Katie Couric interview.

This interview is the pot calling the kettle black. How does MS-NBC accuse somebody of not hounding the truth because they’re star struck. Go figure.

Phoenician on January 11, 2009 at 10:35 AM

So, not reading the “right” paper is grounds for disqualification as VP?
-
That is the main thing that I take away from this Mentally Simple Mind’s hammering of that small piece of what happened around Palin during the campaign.
-
I would bet you he could blow off every misstep of Biden and ObieOne CanDoNoWrong without even breaking a sweat, but a little cattiness and awkward interviewing between Couric and The Cuda and it’s curtains Sarah…. What a Weed.

RalphyBoy on January 11, 2009 at 10:36 AM

Shuster won’t last as a TV-show host, he’s in the Olbermann mold (pun intended) and people are going to tire of that type and the ratings will sink eventually. Jerry Springer Morton Downey Jr anyone?

The Gibson and Couric interviews provided cover and excuses. If they hadn’t found anything to pick at in what she said, it would’ve been in how she said it. You’re right; the sliming began the moment she appeared in Dayton, Ohio.

ddrintn on January 11, 2009 at 10:40 AM

ddrintn on January 11, 2009 at 10:40 AM

Once she appeared the attack began … she was the only threat to the Messiah … Republicans love her … now the party was ready to donate money and volunteer for the McCain campaign … the media/dems had to destroy her and everything was fair game, its like that video the “lying king

But they have one little problem … Republicans STILL love her and she is only 44 years old with years of experience to come

the media/dems won’t stop the attack, that is why we can’t stop the defense

Did you here what Ann Coulter said, 2 Democrats stod up and screemed at Palin when she held her speech at the Gop convention. No reports in media.

the_nile on January 11, 2009 at 10:54 AM

Right after she was introduced in Dayton, you could sense the libs going into full panic mode. LOL It was hilarious. You could also tell what was coming next: “Sarah Palin is stupid. She’s the next Dan Quayle.” Libs are so boringly predictable.

I think that D. Fagan and Kathleen Parker could be separated at birth. They seem to have a lot in common. Including writing columns complaining about the ‘hate’ mail they get in response to their columns. This guy takes down Fagan quite well.

Thank god that Ziegler was in L.A. and not in the same studio as Sir Hocks-a-lot.Because man has yet to invent a spit guard large enough to deflect Shuster’s spittle.

Ann was referring to the two Code Pink ‘ladies’ who were escorted out of the auditorium after raising a fuss while Sarah was speaking at the convention. Code Pink happened to be a heavy contributor to Obama’s campaign.

technopeasant on January 11, 2009 at 2:49 PM

How is characterizing the interview as “disastrous” in any way anything other than editorializing? It is laughable to me that these tools in the MSM can claim with a straight face to be impartial journalists. And why bother to ask your guest questions if you’re just going to shout over him the entire time.

These people lose more and more of whatever tiny shred of credibility they have left every day.

NoLeftTurn on January 11, 2009 at 3:05 PM

Look, here in Alaska only the people who pay attention know who Poe is. Now Berkowitz has more name recognition and the closest they will come to defeating Palin. The ONLY reason he came close to defeating Young is because Alaskans are getting tired of the backroom deals he is viewed to be engaged in. Berkowitz will come up short in the Gubernatorial race as well. Now Politico and Dkos may be trying to influence Alaskan voters, but then they are outsiders who don’t really know what Alaska is about. I don’t know if Palin’s star is as shiny as it once was but she still the favorite for most.

But, if the GOP does not pay attention to Young’s seat and find a viable candidate to replace him they WILL loose it. They can not continue to take for granted that Alaskan’s will continue to vote for Young. It’s like Steven’s race, we voted for the seat more than we voted for the man!
In spite of the fly by night environmentalist Alaska is still a very Red State. Every once in a while we get an outside group trying to tell us how to do things…They always loose! BTW, did Vick Vickers crawl back under the rock from which he came after he lost the primaries???
