Government can and should encourage private sector investment in times of economic downturn by things such as accelerated deprepreciation of assets purchased and put into use over a short period of time (e.g. two years), lower capital gains tax rates than regular income tax rates in order to encourage venture capitalism and low corporate taxes in order to encourage business formation (You will get the money back from the taxes paid by the increase in people with jobs paying taxes.) These are the proven winners in fighting recessions as shown by John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.

Until these measures work, government must either borrow to cover needed infrastructure investments and/or cut spending on non-essential services. Ample empirical evidence supports this kind of approach. As Reagan was fond of quoting: “At the beginning of the empire, taxes were low and revenues were high. At the end of the empire, taxes were high and revenues were low.”

Even if we get those jobs, it is doubtful that the projects Obama is spending on are so beneficial that they pay for themselves in the long term. In other words, capital is sucked out of the private sector and misallocated. They claim to know how much employment they are creating down to the last digit, but you will never hear about the jobs destroyed at the same time by the inceasing burden of regulations and taxes.

This is central planning and it will make us poorer and them more powerful. That´s all it ever does. Please note that Obama´s vaunted economics team consists of Wall Street financiers. These people make deals, but they have never managed a business. If you think they are on your side you have not been paying attention these last months.

Get used to hearing the following 3 things quite a lot over at least the next couple of years, no matter what happens:

1. The enormous mass of problems poor Obama inherited from the Bush administration.
2. The great love the country has for Obama as evidenced by his unbelievable poll numbers.
3. The economy is steadily improving, but lots of work still needs to be done by Lightworker if only the people have patience.

Or maybe it will work better simply because he “cares” more than any of the other leaders who have tried it in the past? I have yet to hear a rational explanation: all that we get is “if we don’t do something, it will be a disaster”. Pretty thin rationale to me. My counter argument is: “If we do what is proposed, we’re going to make it worse, for longer.” And I have history to back me up. Am I deluded or missing something important here?

He doesn’t have any answers OTHER THAN to demand more money. He has undoubtedly been doing this with adults his entire lifetime. His grandmother should have done the right thing by him and told him “no” more often, and same goes for her erratic daughter, O’s mom.

What I estimate it to be is that he’s never been able to intellectually, psychologically break free from or break out of his own B.S. stage. He’s stuck in a sort of self-indulgent teen state of mind wherein he can B.S. people (“it doesn’t matter who gets the credit…”) and that’ll allow him to squeek on through to “win” while no one’s looking. Deflect the scrutiny but still streak on by, in other words…

If it didn’t matter to Obama “who gets the credit” (for anything), he’d never have decided he was going to be President when still in early grade school, smoking dope and scribing his name as “King Obama” in cement in Hawaii.

The guy is play-acting the street corner strut act and hoping no one notices who grabs the bag…

If “the government” actually wanted to “create jobs,” they’d allow jobs to be created the real way: reduce taxes, reduce regulations on those who create jobs and encourage production by getting out of the way.

They don’t want that. The more people working for the government, they figure, the better. They don’t like capitalism, or people working for themselves, or, as FDR once lamented, having too much “self-interest.”

Maybe Spiderman is going to swing from Wall Street buildings and help him fix the economy.

What the hell is this “saving jobs” nonsense? How do you determine what a “saved job” is? Is this a preview of his reelection campaign?

Well duh. It’s really a simple equation.

Saved Jobs = 4,000,000 – Created Jobs

If “the O” creates 1000 jobs he will save 3,999,000 jobs. If “the O” creates 596,060 jobs he will save 3,403,940 jobs. Don’t worry about the details. The MSM will make sure the numbers work out just fine.

(4,000,000 number may change due to the mood of “the O.” Their may be a direct correlation to any decrease in approval ratings for “the O” and an increase in the 4,000,000 number.)
