I’m old enough to remember Inauguration Day, 1981, when Reagan began his Presidency and when hostages were released after 444 days of Iranian captivity. Even though I’ve come to appreciate since that significant credit for that release belongs to the waning days of the Carter administration, the feeling at the time was that this was the first great accomplishment for Reagan. Things were going to be different now!

It would be a very interesting parallel if fate should happen to deliver the capture or death of Osama Bin Laden on Obama’s Inauguration Day. All this chatter about increased effectiveness and intelligence going after top al-Qaeda leaders in Pakistan makes me think such a thing is far from impossible.

These two died in battle. If you like, you can call it a long distance firing squad. But they were terrorists, not soldiers; they deserved hanging or something worse.

Still, it’s nice to be rid of them. It would be nicer to be rid of all their friends as well.

Those pictures honestly look like badly done charicatures of Muslim terrorists. How do you get that freakin’ ugly without surgery? When I pulled HotAir up, my dog (who eats her own poo), saw the picture and had a spontaneous gag reflex.

If you wrap the seven pounds of remaining, non-vaporized body parts in enough bacon, no doubt some critter will eat them in spite of their deformity. Bacon is the great equalizer.
