“Here’s my nightmare scenario: It takes Congress months to pass a stimulus plan, and the legislation that actually emerges is too cautious. As a result, the economy plunges for most of 2009, and when the plan finally starts to kick in, it’s only enough to slow the descent, not stop it. Meanwhile, deflation is setting in, while businesses and consumers start to base their spending plans on the expectation of a permanently depressed economy — well, you can see where this is going.
So this is our moment of truth. Will we in fact do what’s necessary to prevent Great Depression II?”

It’s nice to see PE Obama acting so swiftly to use the bully pulpit to drum up panic and despair.
Oh, wait, I didn’t mean “nice,” what’s the other word?

Too cautious??? Deflation??? What is he smoking?
Brad Davis, a talk show host in Connecticut, said that the projected Federal deficit for 2009, due to a planned stimulus package, will be over $2 trillion, whereas the previous record deficit was around $500 billion.
How is quadrupling the deficit “too cautious”? Add $2 trillion in new debt (T-bills), who will buy them unless the interest rate goes up?
And if the Fed prints up extra money, we get too much money chasing too few goods, that’s called INflation, not deflation! We’ll soon need two-way shopping carts, not only to carry out the groceries, but to carry in the money!
All hail President Barack Hussein Weimar Carter.
There may be some cautious members of Congress, but they probably don’t have enough votes.

Instead of “nice”, how about “aggravating”?

I know you’re joking. But, He is still in control. He has given me peace during this whole meltdown. I can’t even watch Barry on TV. He is so swarmy and disengenuous, even for a politician. His ego is way out of control.

He believes his press.

Ok.. Nightmare Scenario II … The stimulus passes easily and the economy still plunges for the rest of Obama’s term because the Dems say “let them eat cake” while Omama’s fiddling because the Dems are only interested in maintaining a monarchial style grip on America.

yes, I am joking. I agree with you. I had to stay away from all of it last month and concentrate on the Christmas season. It is very difficult to comprehend what has happened. And it continues to mystify me each and every day. I vacillate between praying and laughing.

Here’s my nightmare scenario:
“Congress PASSES a stimulus plan, and the legislation that actually emerges is enen nuttier than the Fool’s proposal. As a result, the economy plunges for most of 2009, and when the damage is finally done, inflation is rampant, and businesses and consumers start to base their spending plans on the expectation of an FDR 1930′ish government— well, you can see where this is going.
So this is our moment of truth. Will we in fact do what’s necessary to prevent Great Depression II, or will we follow this INCREDIBLE DOPE, who is doing exactly what has failed so many times before?”

from the past …
here is the rub …
a vast majority of our fine citizens believe
- they are endowed by the Government with certain entitlements, that among these are food, shelter and a plasma TV.
- that government has compelling interest in every aspect of our lives and derives powers from itself
- the government is not self-destructive
- that a revolt would currently be for a light and transient cause
- if they can get theirs first, the train of usurpations is not that long …
there will be a shoot out some day … just going to be a while. it is our duty to throw it off and correct it.

If these bozos enact the $3 a gallon plus tax on gas I hear that is part of Hussein plan, not only will it be too late, it will put the economy in the toilet for good.

Our once great land disgraced itself. It will suffer immensely, and must do so, before it, hopefully, wakes up in time. Otherwise its demise is assured, and deserved.

come on people. this is not the end of our country. this country has seen far worse than odumbo and we have survived. we will in fact survive this. it may not be easy, but look on the bright side… oblabo promised everything to everyone and no one is going to be happy with what little they get. ergo everyone is going to wind up hating this guy. the msm will NOT let barky take the blame so they will shove it off on the congress. people will remember that a) the people voted for dems, and b) the dems are in control of congress. if you think pelosi and reid are going to let anyone forget that the dems are in charge here you are sadly mistaken. next election cycle the congress (which the media says is to blame) will be cleared out and pelosi and reid will go too. and when 2012 rolls around people will remember voting for obarfy and reverse this action just as he reversed all his positions and screwed everything up. wait and see. this too shall come to pass.

I have been at work all day. Did Obama take any questions in his press conference, and did anybody ask him about Israel?
