The earliest PS3 models flirted with backwards compatibility, but that’s been jettisoned from the newest models. Sony is no longer pursuing it.

But since you already have a PS2, what difference does it make? Just keep it around. You probably won’t use it much in the future anyway.

He brought it over this weekend, and I ended up commandeering it one morning just to play Super Paper Mario (a game I bought him for Christmas). Now I want a Wii to go along with my PS2 (I won’t buy a PS3 at this point unless they can guarantee backwards compatibility with my current games).

The original Xbox’s first controller was a bit sizable, but that hasn’t been the norm for years.

I wanted a Wii originally, but after two years of not being able to find one, I lost interest. Now you’d have to give it to me as a gift. Otherwise, my Xbox 360 is a fine substitute.

Wii rocks. So does 360. Totally different gaming experience.

I think they’re doing something right, because we really like it.

Well, except I’m waiting for the Star Wars light saber game that Allah blogged about last year. In fact, he’s the reason I started keeping an eye on the Wii.

Actually, the Wii’s cheaper and so are Wii games. Only 360 Arcade compares, but if you actually want to play 360, you’d be wasting your money on getting one without a hard drive.

Some information to consider:

Q: Is the Wii “cheaper” than Xbox 360?

Q: Are the Wii games cheaper than Xbox or PS3 games?

Q: Why is the $199 Xbox 360 Arcade called a “waste” without a hard drive when the $249 Nintendo Wii also does not have a hard drive?
A: This is due to a blatant double-standard.

Q: Isn’t the Xbox 360 with its big evil controller only for drunk frat boys that voted for Obama so they could get laid by co-eds majoring in social work and lonely Klebold/Harris goth wackos that hate America?
A: There are plenty of inexpensive family-friendly fun party games with innovative controllers and infinite replay options available on Xbox 360.

Q: What if I want all the games AND a Blu-ray Disc player?
A: Then you should get a Sony Playstation 3.
