Arabs open fire on Israelis in Denmark

posted at 12:32 pm on December 31, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

I’m certain this will raise the sympathy level for Gazans under fire in the Israeli-Hamas war:

A group of Arab youths opened fire Wednesday evening on a number of Israelis working at a mall in the Danish city of Odenza, some 200 kilometers north of Copenhagen.

The Israelis, who were operating a stall in the shopping center, were lightly wounded in their legs. There is no apparent danger to their lives. …

It is unclear whether the assailants have yet been arrested by Danish authorities. The Foreign Ministry believes that the attack was related to anger over Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip.

That might have been the proximate motivation for the gunfire, but Danes should know better than to assume that it’s only about Gaza.  The death threats against Danish newspaper editors weren’t just about a few editorial cartoons.  It’s about cultural terrorism, the advancement of Arab and Muslim interests through intimidation and attack.

Mere Rhetoric also notes that this attack takes place in a broader context in Denmark:

This is usually where I’d write something like “on the plus side this was probably just over exuberant anti-Zionism and had nothing to do with anti-Semitism.” But we’re talking about a country where “Jews are Allah’s enemies” is a popular protest chant…

… so there might actually have been a little bit of anti-Semitism involved.

Also, we don’t see roving bands of Jews in Denmark or anywhere else shooting at unarmed Arab merchants in shopping malls, either. That’s another point in context for this attack. Gateway Pundit has more.

Israelis, Jews, and Americans need to be very careful when visiting European muslim cities. Some of the biggest anti-Israel demonstrations in the world occurred in Londonistan a few days ago. The future is now.

A Proposed Constitutional Amendment
Background and justification to Amendment 28

Whereas Religion is defined as an institution dedicated to improving social conscience and promoting individual and societal spiritual growth in a way that is harmless to others not participating in or practicing the same;

Whereas the United States of America was founded on the ideals of individual rights, including the individual right to practice one’s religion of choice, or no religion, and that there would be no compulsion of religion, nor state sanctioned religion, nor a “religious test” for participation in the body politic;

Whereas Islam includes a complete political and social structure, encompassed by its religious law, Sharia, that supersedes any civil law and that Islam mandates that no secular or democratic institutions are to be superior to Islamic law;

Whereas Islam preaches that it and it alone is the true religion and that Islam will dominate the world and supplant all other religions and democratic institutions;

Whereas Saudi Arabia, the spiritual home of Islam does not permit the practice of any other religion on its soil and even “moderate” Muslims states such as Turkey and Malaysia actively suppress other religions;

Whereas Islam includes as its basic tenet the spread of the faith by any and all means necessary, including violent conquest of non-believers, and demands of its followers that they implement violent jihad (holy war) against those un-willing to convert or submit to Islam, including by deception and subversion of existing institutions;

Whereas on 9/11/2001 19 Muslim hijackers acting in the name of Islam killed 3,000 Americans, and numerous other acts of terrorism have been directed at the American people around the world;

Whereas representatives of Islam around the world including Osama Bin Laden (architect of 9/11), the government of Iran including Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, HAMAS, Hezbollah, and other Islamic groups have declared jihad (war) on America, and regularly declare that America should cease to exist;

Whereas there is no organized Islamic opposition to violent proponents of Islam;

Therefore: Islam is not a religion, but a political ideology more akin to Fascism and totally in opposition to the ideals of freedom as described in the United States Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights.

Be it resolved that the following Amendment to the Constitution be adopted:

Article I

The social/political/ideological system known around the world as Islam is not recognized in the United States as a religion.

The practice of Islam is therefore not protected under the 1st Amendment as to freedom of religion and speech.

Article II

As representatives of Islam around the world have declared war, and committed acts of war, against the United States and its democratic allies around the world, Islam is hereby declared an enemy of the United States and its practice within the United States is now prohibited.

Article III

Immediately upon passage of this Amendment all Mosques, schools and Muslim places of worship and religious training are to be closed, converted to other uses, or destroyed. Proceeds from sales of such properties may be distributed to congregations of said places but full disclosure of all proceeds shall be made to an appropriate agency as determined by Congress. No compensation is to be offered by Federal or State agencies for losses on such properties however Federal funding is to be available for the demolishing of said structures if other disposition cannot be made.

The preaching of Islam in Mosques, Schools, and other venues is prohibited. The subject of Islam may be taught in a post high school academic environment provided that instruction include discussion of Islam’s history of violence, conquest, and its ongoing war on democratic and other non-Islamic values.

The preaching or advocating of Islamic ideals of world domination, destruction of America and democratic institutions, jihad against Judaism, Christianity and other religions, and advocating the implementation of Sharia law shall in all cases be punishable by fines, imprisonment, deportation, and death as prescribed by Congress. Violent expressions of these and other Muslim goals, or the material support of those both in the United States and around the world who seek to advance these Islamic goals shall be punishable by death.

Muslims will be denied the opportunity to immigrate to the United States.

Article IV

Nothing in this amendment shall be construed as authorizing the discrimination against, of violence upon, nor repudiation of the individual rights of those Americans professing to be Muslim. The individual right of conscience is sacrosanct and the practice of Islam within the privacy of home and self is strictly protected to the extent that such individuals do not violate the prohibitions described in Article III.

It’s no accident that the Muslims are building a large mosque in Tours. It is a symbol of their modern conquest at the site of their ancient defeat. Many if not most Europeans realize this yet they sit on their hands and shrug their shoulders. If they don’t do something, and soon, in another generation we can expect to see another wave of European immigration to North America.

The article that sayabule1 mentioned above on December 31, 2008 at 12:58 PM is by Caroline Glick: Column One: The ‘realist’ fantasy.

Don’t miss it and the paragraph that follows:

On Tuesday, Hamas legislators marked the Christmas season by passing a Shari’a criminal code for the Palestinian Authority. Among other things, it legalizes crucifixion.

Hamas’s endorsement of nailing enemies of Islam to crosses came at the same time it renewed its jihad. Here, too, Hamas wanted to make sure that Christians didn’t feel neglected as its fighters launched missiles at Jewish day care centers and schools. So on Wednesday, Hamas lobbed a mortar shell at the Erez crossing point into Israel just as a group of Gazan Christians were standing on line waiting to travel to Bethlehem for Christmas.

As long as you have brought this up, your “whereases” have overwhealmed the simplicity of your argument. Several are mutally exclusive, such as if you raze all the mosques, how are you going to punish muslims for worshiping in a mosque?

The whole concept of declaring Isalm not to be a religion because of political or military implications inimical to the interests of The United States has precedence with the banning of Shintoism at the beginning of WWII. It was upheld that the religion worshiped the Japanese emperor as a deity. He was also head of a state that was belligerant to the US. The religion was deemed to be a political institution and was banned. (Some other old fogey may have a better take on this; please speak up).

Freedom of Religion, like all rights is a relative right. You can’t yell fire in a crowded theater (speach), have human sacrifice (religion), bear arms against duly constituted authority (bear arms), be safe from search (only unreasonable search), etc.

I liked the way Russia handled Islam. When the Saudis wanted to build a big mosque in Moscow, the Russians told them they could just as soon as they let the Russians build an orthodox church in Mecca. I agree the madrassas have been proved time and time again to be political indoctrination centers. We should insist that every Saudi financed madrassa or mosque in the US be offset by an American church or school in Arabia. Although our new president-to-be has great pecs, I bet he doesn’t have equipment at the other end to insist on that.

Look at some of these signs:

“Yes we can”
“Yes we can save Gaza”
“Boycott Israel now”

Obama told his followers that if they believed in him and made him President,that together,they could change the world.
Hey People’s Temple of Obama members,you can’t even get him to make a comment on Israel/Gaza,much less possibly think he is going to bring peace by giving a speech with his “glistening chest” exposed.

Here was the new Koran of faith and war: turgid, verbose, shapeless, but pregnant with its message.
- Winston Churchill (equating Mohammad’s Koran with Adolf Hiler’s “Mein Kampf” in his book the “The Gathering Storm”)

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
- Winston Churchill

Carolyn McCarthy introduced 5 bills HR1022, 1168, 1859, 1895 and 6676. Two of which would affect all but one of my firearms. (My Garand only holds eight rounds). But for all intent and purposes 1022 and 1859 are designed specifically to outlaw manufacturing and resale of higher capacity weapons and magazines themselves. It’s coming. I couldn’t agree more. They are the sister and base faith to my own and no one cares more about their protection and right to exist than me; and really than any other sincere Christian that I know. But dammit, Liberal Jews are signing their own death warrants and they need to get the proverbial slap on the back of the head to wake the heck up.

Ducks for tomato throwers who want to make that into a “bigot” statement.

It’s game over already. No turning back for western Europe. Best we can hope for is a moderation as it makes its way into our communities.

The perpetrators attempted the mass murder of peaceable people in a public place where others might be killed. They should be hanged, and Europe should understand that its highly civilized society can only be protected if such people are removed from it, and if those who try such things know that the gallows awaits them.

Let’s remember that these Arabs in Denmark are being entirely orthodox as to what the koran says.

…allah made me do it. (And they’d be right to say that.)

Looking outside the box for a solution… should have considered offering them a bailout. If they’re quick about it, they could be next in line at the wicket, right after their PR consultants, the Western MSM.

Islam: an anti-Constitutional subversive movement aiming at the establishment of a muderous totalitarian theocratic tyranny.

Otherwise known as a religion of peace by morons.

Here is my solution -

robscottw on December 31, 2008 at 12:40 PM

That was great, now if only we can have that implemented.

I wish some American leader would let us know just how many more years we are planning to devote to the Muslim problem. We’re not going to be around forever, and there are other things to do in life besides try to work this out with people who don’t want to work anything out.

JiangxiDad on December 31, 2008 at 2:43 PM

The trouble is that while most of us on this board understand the threat we’re facing from Islam, our leaders and much of our population have no clue. The key to defeating Islam for every civilization is to recognize that it is a danger and then work to defeat it. That takes mass education and coordination-the country also needs to be mobilized for war as we were during WW2 against fascism/Nazism.

Islam thrives on ignorance, misinformation, propaganda, complacency, fear, delusion and weakness. I’m afraid with the election of Obama, we’ve taken a giant step backwards and it’ll be at least 4 years till we’re moving in the right direction again (assuming the republicans win next time).

Meanwhile things could get much worse, with Iran close to acquiring nukes and global Islamic terrorism on the rise. There are however some hopeful signs that more in the West are waking up to the threat (with right-wing parties starting to gain prominence).

People like us have only become more hardened, resolute and convinced Islam needs to be eradicated and I’m optimistic we’ll have our day. Right now its the liberals turn at bat, once they royally screw-up we’ll get our chance to set things straight.

hillbillyjim on December 31, 2008 at 8:29 PM

Agreed. These ideologies like Islam are really nothing more than computer software for the human mind. Now if only some very clever person could “discover” some long lost “authenticated” Islamic text that contained a special code (edict) such as:

Quran 5.37: “It is the duty of all the righteous believers on the first day of the first month after their 20th Eid celebration, the lovers of Allah (PBUH) will martyr themselves with their own holy swords. This is the most high and sacred final act Allah demands of all his followers.”

Or something to that effect. Then Islam could be instantly transformed from a death cult into a suicide cult and our problem could solve itself. Oh if only it could be that easy. :)

Holy crap! I’m in Odense right now not 5 minutes from the Rosengård Center mall! Geez, I come to HOTAIR and get news this big that could have affected us (didn’t watch TV yesterday). My MIL was apparently at a restaurant in the mall just after the shootings happened to get the pre-ordered food for last nights NYE dinner!!

Man, we live in Mumbai too. That’s TWO terror attacks in barely a month. That is too close for comfort…..

Renwaa on January 1, 2009 at 9:28 AM

Oh, and a correction: Odense is about an hour and a half WEST of Copenhagen on the small island of FYN. Denmark is made up of one penninsula and two islands. Copenhagen is on the island farthest east called Sealand (Sjælland). If we were 200 KM north, we’d be in Sweden somewhere.

Please don’t write-off Europe just yet. Slowly the foolish generation is retiring and dying and losing its hold on power and, at the same time, the truth about Islam is spreading. The problem is severe but not insoluable. It could be reduced to a more comfortable level fairly swiftly if those with power had the will to act. One should never underestimate the tenacity or diversity of stupidity but it is yet possible that Europeans will find a way out of their collective doodoo swamp.

Your hope for moderation in the USA is sweet.

If Europe does succumb the Muslims are hardly likely to be in a humble, moderate mood are they? Triumphalistic and eager to complete the job is more likely. It is possible they will also be controlling the nuclear arsenals of France and of the UK.

The USA already has its own Islamic fifth-columnists preparing the ground. Furthermore Europe got itself into its present mess by allowing clueless liberals, with their foolish inability to understand reality, to hold the reins of power. You might find that, by popular demand, America has some similar people populating the congress, senate and, in a few days, the Oval Office. It seems that liberal socialist eloquence works its deceitful charm equally well on both sides of the water.

You might want to kep in mind that expression: “The bigger they are, the harder they fall.”

Europe is in the doodoo in a big way but the USA has no room whatsoever for complacency. Like SARS or avian-flue, Islam is a trans-national problem needing a trans-national solution.
