The liberals today remind me of an anecdote I heard from David Horowitz (I think it was). When he was a kid and was watching one of those US Communist Party parades, he asked someone else in the crowd what the people were marching for. The person he asked turned around and said, “They’re marching for you, dumbass!” or words to that effect. Anyway, it captures what’s fundamentally wrong with the Left.

Same for Catholics. Every criticism of the Catholic Church and Catholicism is so way off the truth. People have no idea what Catholicism is. People don’t realize that the Catholicism they hate doesn’t even exist.

It’s like that famous saying of Fulton Sheen’s that there are only a handful of people in America who hate Catholicism for what it actually is, but there are thousands who hate it for what they think it is.

I think you summed up the msm’s attitude just right. Your description reminds of a study I read about where some college did a study of liberals and conservatives asking each group a set of questions. Then they asked each group to put themselves in each others mindsets and asked the same questions asking each group to answer as they thought the other would. The study found that conservatives can easily put themselves in the mindset of liberals and answer the questions almost exactly as the liberal would, but the liberal could not even come close to approximating the conservatives answers. They definitely do not have the slightest understanding of who we are or what our beliefs are.

Right on! I can go into pretend liberal mode on a dime as a conservative because I know them so well and their philosophies to a certain extent. When they start trying to articulate conservatism, they don’t come close. I have to assist them on what American Conservatism is and the different strains.

Just this Christmas I was talking to my niece’s husband. He was surprised when I told him that the BBC is considered your establishment liberal news organization. And this from a greenie, CA Ron Paul fan? WTF? You can’t be a Paulist AND be an environment freek at the expense of other stuff.

American aristocracy, that’s what this country needs more than anything else, and I’ll bet you that it will cure whatever is the problem in the economy. We should just forget about elections in the future and just pass the office down from one generation to the next, because after all we pissants peasants aren’t capable of making decisions for ourselves and the smart ones are already inside the beltway. Many of us were brought up not to behave emotionally in public. There was a time, not so long ago, that public emotionalism was considered undignified and made others uncomfortable.

She may have stood like a stone because she was stoned.
According to accounts in some of her biographies, Jackie was still receiving “vitamin” (i.e. speedball) injections from “Dr. Feelgood” in the days following JFK’s death. Both Jack and Jackie regularly received the powerful amphetamine shots during JFK’s presidency.

If she had suddenly got choked up when she mentioned her late brother, I bet that would have given her a boost in the polls. She didn’t try to play it up, and I do respect that.

I guess if she could get into Hahvahd and Columbia, then get through them, then there is hope for the rest of us.
I spent my life working with highly educated people – PhD’s in any science, engineering field or math field you could name. The vast majority, I say again, the vast majority had no common sense and literally could not pour water out of a boot even after telling them the instructions were on the bottom. One PhD’s wife had to call him every afternoon and remind him to come home.
Caroline is an example of education meaning she stayed in school longer than some people. It’s obvious none of it went to her head.

A friend of mine commented on the fact that Palin cooked for Greta Van Susteren and Matt Lauer during her interviews with them. Can you remember any other politician cooking for a journalist while being interviewed? Could you imagine Hillary doing that? Or Caroline? And being able to make sense while doing it? Heck, she could start a cooking show if she gets tired of politics!

As Laura Ingraham said, “the left hates the fact that someone like Sarah Palin even exists.” They have contempt for the working class people. The left only likes the working class when they can exploit them with the politics of envy.

The left is “tolerant” of any opinion unless it contradicts their own. If Palin had been a liberal Democrat, they would have hailed her as the new feminist icon. But because she is pro-life, she must be destroyed. Scratch the surface of the deranged irrational hatred of her and you’ll see the letters A-B-O-R-T-I-O-N etched in stone.

I agree. I don’t think Caroline is stupid, and I certainly don’t think Palin is stupid. It’s the double standard that angers me.

It’s worse than the double standard. It is one woman who has so admirably made much of herself, and another who grew up with every possible advantage, perk, and pull. AND maid service.

And they DARE take the one who made so much of herself – and speaks so well (long sentences notwithstanding), and call her stupid and ridicule everything about her. While taking the one born with the silver spoon in her Valley Girl mouth and think she’s smarter and more capable, and treat her with respect and deference.

Do you know what that means for the most of us women, who have worked hard to get our education, and to get where we are?

It means we are stupid, and we don’t count. (Though we might count a LITTLE if we have the “right” politics; i.e., theirs.)

If we have children, it proves we are dolts. If Caroline has children, it proves her capable.
