Awww: Palin’s a grandma

posted at 7:10 pm on December 29, 2008 by Allahpundit

Her first grandkid. Or, if you’re an Atlantic reader, her second, the first having been born to the same woman, er, eight months ago.

Bristol Palin, the 18-year-old daughter of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, gave birth on Sunday to a healthy 7 lb., 4 oz., baby boy in Palmer, Alaska.

“We think it’s wonderful,” said Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol’s grandmother Sally Heath, who confirmed the news. “The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited.”…

Bristol Palin is currently residing in Wasilla and completing her high-school diploma through correspondence courses.

Johnston is studying to become an electrician. He told the Associated Press in October that he and fiancée Bristol plan to wed in 2009 and raise the child together.

I know there’s some Keith Olbermann special comment material buried in here somewhere, probably having to do with illegal drugs. Can’t wait! Exit question: Anyone want to try to guess the name? You’ll find it at the link up top; all I’ll say by way of a hint is that it’s very much in keeping with the ‘Cuda’s naming conventions. Feel free to use this if you need help.

Update: Commenters are wondering whether Sullivan will accuse Palin of giving birth to this one herself.

Did anyone notice the awful picture that parade magazine put on the cover this week? It was really horrible. They must have gone through all their cheap shots and picked the worst one they could find. There certainly are wonderful pictures of her, because she is so cute, but no they went for the worst. Congrats to Grandma.

First they didn’t destroy the worthless Down’s syndrome baby, who should never be given the chance to have any life at all, much less a meaningful one.

And now her 18 year old has the audacity not to get rid of that parasitic encumbrance which will ruin her whole career plans, and certainly make a night out at the club more inconvenient to plan.

I mean, really now, don’t they know there’s myths supporting a woman’s right to choose murder to prop up here?

C’mon, at the very least she should have consulted Alan Colmes to make sure she was using the proper natal vitamins.

Journalist dirtbags are at it again – look at the Associated Press article titled “Palin’s daughter gives birth to son named Tripp”.

The first sentence:

The teenage daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whose quest for the vice presidency began to go downhill the day she announced the pregnancy, has given birth to a son, a magazine reported Monday.

They also make sure to mention the drug arrest of Sherry Johnston. You stay classy, Associated Press!

Sapwolf on December 29, 2008 at 9:12 PM

They not only don’t understand sin, they revel in it … they romp, frolic and glorify it. They LOVE sin. It truly is their whole reason for being. Without sin, there would be no need for the liberal agenda, now would there?

Further, they have no clue how Christians (should) deal with sin, even though it is pretty darn simple, once you get down to basics.

Sin is sin. All sin is abhorrent to God. We are all sinners, and all of our sins damn us to Hell.

Christians, like God, hate sin. Also, like God, we (try to) love sinners. We ARE sinners. All of us, every last one of us, Christian or not.

But, as Christians, having given our lives over to our Lord, Jesus Christ, we will escape damnation for our sins, He having died and gone to Hell for us and our sins.

Christians are no better than anyone else, nor do we sin any less. We are, however, forgiven. And we are commanded to also forgive the sins of our fellow man and love him as we love ourselves. And forgiving is far and away different from accepting, promoting or condoning sin – and that is where those such as “Noneya” become so confused.

LissaKay on December 29, 2008 at 9:40 PM

actually they are dead wrong. If you remember Jim right after the RNC convention McCain/Palin had their highest poll numbers and were leading barry by 6 or 7 points.

How foolish of the rest of the commenters. This is a stealth thread about gay bashing. How could we be so dense?

Sigh….

I really wish the comments section at this site was better regulated.

so my pointing out the hypocrisy of conservative religious zealots is the equivalent of a racial slur?

Noneya on December 29, 2008 at 9:55 PM

You pointed out nothing. Your accusations of hypocrisy were clearly refuted, as anyone with half a functioning brain cell could see. There is no hypocrisy in calling a sin a sin. No one is denying that adultery is a sin, nor is anyone saying that what Bristol and Levi did is not a sin. It is. Just as homosexuality is a sin.

The difference between Christians and liberals is that we love those who sin, despite their sin. Liberal hate anyone that commits “sins” against the liberal agenda, no matter what.

Stop hating, “Noneya” … life will be ever so much better for you!

Noneya on December 29, 2008 at 9:55 PM

No, you’re saying that everyone here is a religious zealot with your generalizations is tantamount to trolling, because if you spent any time here at all you’d know that’s not true.

Also, part of Christianity is about forgiveness. Its about the inherently flawed nature of the human being.

We are happy for Bristol because she chose to keep the child and marry the father.

We’d be hypocrites if Bristol went and had an abortion and we supported her simply because she’s the daughter of a Republican.

Because that’s what the left does. Obama can rail about the evil Bush administration and they can call Robert Gates a war criminal, but when Obama decides he isn’t a war criminal and he wants to keep him on, they all instantly change their tune.

Sorry, if I were grab my bible then my kitchen table would be all wobbly again, maybe you can just post what it says? and if I forgive my gay lovers for giving me sexual pleasure I can get into heaven?

Noneya on December 29, 2008 at 10:03 PM

Sorry pal, but if you are going to take potshots at Christians, you should have a resource…just Google it and you will see it.
Yes, you will be able to get in through the backdoor…

Congrats to the Palin family. Maybe we’ll see the little guy running around the White House one day. And perhaps he’ll even make it to the NHL as I’m sure his Dad will teach him to skate at an early age.

At any case, I’m sure his Grandma will have him speaking better than Princess Caroline before he enters first grade.

Noneya,

We can’t help you with that problem here. You need counseling. I had an uncle who died of AIDS. He was human.

Start thinking of others for a change and actually help others. Work a hospice for AIDS patients or something. Believe me, my mom and sister, there is plenty of people who need help.

How a thread about a baby boy being born gets you to talking about homosexuals is beyond me.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I think that site is bogus or hijacked – the front page says that Palin is a Buchanan supporter and quotes someone saying that Palin supporters are racist.

why not? being gay is not against the law, we have some protections but not all that are afforded with marriage, why should we be treated like second-class citizens?

Noneya on December 29, 2008 at 10:10 PM

” marriage equality”

annnnd we finally get to the crux of the matter — it’s pissed it’s relationship can never be “the same” as mommy and daddys. well, newsflash — IT’S NOT.

So you’ve got civil unions everywhere, which has all of the legal rights as marriage….but you want to be married, a wholly symbolic gesture, in a Christian church…even though you clearly hate Christians?

I have a question. How is it liberals pick and choose which “sins” are minor and which are unforgivable? How is it that denying gay marriage is unforgivable, but hounding, ridiculing and besmirching a pregnant teen isn’t?

By the way, I don’t think the Democratic Party is pro-gay marriage, either. Make your own party, I guess.
