The usual UN condemnation of Israel for defending its borders should be forthcoming. If Israel immediately dropped one 2000 pound bomb for every rocket fired into their country they might get Hamas attention. No need to warn, just have predetermined targets and respond immediately and also drop leaflets letting the Palestinians know what their actions caused. They are not at the level of understanding to understand fair diplomacy, they just understand power.

Strange comparison.

Nor will the Gazans or Palis suddenly decide that the Hamas terrorists aren’t worth the trouble. They will double down, instead. The pressure needed to effect real change there will have to come
a) externally,
b) with great clarity, and
c) with enormous suffering.

The complete cessation of all economic, medical, and social aid to the Palestinians, along with a major military threat against the entire region is the only thing that will get the lazy and despicable Arabs off of their cushy chairs to help change minds.

And with oil at such low prices, this might be just the time to act, as the benefactors of terrorism (Russia, Iran, et al) are feeling the squeeze, and might be willing to engage.

I was thinking about that when some of the comments called for paving Gaza. Israel’s next big step might logically be creating a devastated demilitarized zone (which is actually a fully militarized zone) as a buffer between Israel proper and what remains of Gaza.

Every time the Palesterrorists breach the zone, shoot, and if the zone becomes inadequate, bulldoze more of Gaza to extend it.

The actions by these barbarians have nothing to do with Russia, Iran or even the Magical Negro coming into office. This is what they’ve been doing for decades. You folks give this primitive culture WAY to much credit for how, why and when they choose to kill innocents. It’s in their blood, it’s in their culture and until they are no more it will continue to be so. Don’t try to rationalize irrational behavior. They are animals on the lowest branch of the evolutionary tree. It’s time Israel pruned the tree.

His tool Axelrod came out this morning and said that he would not have a statement because “we only have one president” Seems that when he can make political hay we have two. But when he needs to come down on one side or the other and faces political heat for that “we only have one presdident”

Maybe Barry just doesn’t want to embarrass himself again like he did when Russia invaded Georgia and O’Idiot called on Georgia to exercise restraint.

The prospect of being president is starting to look a little tougher than it was when you were just hurling criticisms from the cheap seats, eh Barry?

You may have an excellent point. Iran knows they have nothing to fear from Obama, as he assured all of us multiple time in his campaign.
On the issue of Arab(Palestinian)-Israeli conflict Obama has been a chimera. Chicago, the city with the biggest Palestinian population in the US, and a Jewish population with significant wealth and political power gave Obama the perfect stage to master the double-talk-say-nothing. He both publicly supports Israel, and is socially a friend to Khalidi, Said & Wright … (LA Times) who are all not just pro-Palestinian but Anti-Israel, Anti-Zionist & Anti-Semitic. The DNC and Obama have to walk this line very carefully, lest they lose the traditional Jewish vote (and it’s money) or they lose the Islamic vote and it’s increasing population coming from immigration, conversion in prisons(also here), and higher birth rates.

Hamas, Hezbollah, the PLO/PA, the Muslim brotherhood, Etc, are all the same Hydra. Really it doesn’t matter if one head proclaims the other no good, they share the same heart. The Palestinian people are just pawns (albeit willing) in empowering the head. Until they accept their role in their own demise and kill the beast from within the conflict will continue.

Meanwhile Israel would be wise to keep their eye on the ball – Iran.

If this is the case then obviously Iran has made a judgment call and decided that Obama doesn’t have the stones to do what is necessary to prevent them from acquiring nukes which makes it almost certain that Israel will try and take them out themselves.

Ether way it looks like that test of Obama that crazy Joe Biden was talking about back during the campaign has arrived sooner rather than later. So gird your loins folks this is going to get interesting.

Before that I’d only seen palestinians being abused by Israelis on CNN – that was back in the day before other, alternative news outlets.

This is the ripple effect of the Bush doctrine. Correct me if I am wrong. Saddam’s Iraq kept Iran in check and the Arab countries didn’t have to worry about Iranian ambitions in their part of the region. With Iraq rebuilding, the other Arab countries have to step up and deal with Iran on their own.

Baloney. Iran was stirring the pot in the Middle East esp. Lebanon before Bush OR his dad ever took on the Saddamite. Ever actually READ history, rather than get it from the NYT?

Watching the Palestinians cry about this is kind of like reading those stories of people who jump into lion cages in the zoo to throw things at them and then get mauled in return…only to try to get pity for being mauled.
