A leader does have to know how to fall on their sword. Bush has always taken responsibility for his actions. To say that his changing his mind and having to write the decision off to having gotten bad advice/information from subordinates is bad leadership demonstrates a lack of understanding of what a leader is. On the contrary, he showed excellent leadership skills by showing that he knew how to rectify that mistake.

My original point was that Malkin is so not qualified to make this judgment call and made herself out to be this small, petty person by whining about this.

Bush, for all his faults has been a great leader for this country. I have disagreed with much of his fiscal policy but the man did keep the country together over a very decisive eight year period when things could have truly gone south.

Malkin, on the other hand, has done little but find new ways to offend as she knows she has placed herself in a position where her paying gigs demand absurd commentary in exchange for face time.

When you have been in the position to be responsible for one-TENTH of the lives that Bush has been, THEN we MIGHT listen to your mindless yammering.

I usually am in agreement with Michelle on most everything, but how the heck is it Bush’s fault that he was unaware of all the facts surrounding the pardon? He expects other people to do their jobs properly, including the processing and fact finding on possible pardon recipients. That ain’t Bush’s fault.

In spite of errors made he was and is a great CiC. He is respected and loved by the bravest among us. But from putting an AQHA lawyer in charge of FEMA to making Schumer’s pal Hank Paulsen the Sec. of Treasury his domestic administration has been a disaster. The buck stops on his desk for good and ill.

Way to go, Michelle! And good riddance to this president.

And it is not just the Republican voters. Elections matter, they really do and Obama got 66 million votes. There were 6 million fewer Republicans who voted, my guess is the ones who stayed home were pouting. If so, they helped elect Barack Obama and a Democratic Congress. Forgive me if I find their protestations of moral superiority and principled dissent to be so much garbage.

Then again, he was faced with President Bush being for the bailout also, plus the fact that both Paulson and Bernanke were for it. Which made his trying to wrongfoot Obama on the subject impossible, as well as a waste of time.

I’ve come to learn that a lot in politics has to do with tone. I think Michelle’s tone when discussing immigration is quite negative. You can have disagreements but you have set the right tone.

McCain is the only Presidential candidate I can think who ran towards the center during the primary and then to the right in the general election, and that says volumes about the current dysfunctional state of the GOP
