It was interesting in that he wanted to go through a list of his positions to see which ones I agreed with him on. There weren’t any obvious ones, but then he pulled out what he obviously thinks is his “big crossover” position – his support for the far south suburban Chicago area airport, the so-called Peotone Airport.

Did I support that? Yes, actually, at the time I did. Hooray, a point of agreement! I have since changed my view on that, not least because I have learned more about this ambitious little crook’s involvement and entrenchment. It’s not in his district – it’s not even in his county – and yet he seems to think that he is going to exercise control over the development and management of the airport. He is at odds with Will County over it, and with the U.S. Rep whose district encompasses the area, a fellow lib-Dem.

He suffers from delusions of grandeur.

BTW, NO Immunity for these lousy crooks. Giving immunity to anyone usually proves to be a huge mistake.

Maybe in the eyes of civilized folks who believe in right and wrong, but we’re a shrinking minority. The democrat party doesn’t see these sorts of shenanigans as moral failings, just strategic ones, equivalent to the mistake of scheduling your travel itinerary with your flights too close together. When a democrat says “you shouldn’t have done that” he means it in that practical, amoral sense, not in the sense of personal failing.

Don’t overestimate the soul of a democrat.

Typically liberals–particularly elected representatives–tell themselves that they’re smarter than those with whom they disagree. Either he gets credit for engaging you, or he didn’t get the memo that liberal ideas are superior, hence “go away fly.” I’ll bet someone has filled him in on option B by now.

I remember once sending him an email to rip him about one (Marxist) policy position or another, and since I always give my full name, email address and phone number when eviscerating a politician – you just never know – he called me within hours. On my cell phone. And we went back and forth for at least 10 minutes – I couldn’t believe how thin-skinned he was, and how little, apparently, a sitting congressman has to do on a given day.
